Greinke traded to the Brewers
I expect the Royals to absolutely gut somebody. Especially the Yankees after getting butt-f***ed by Cliff Lee.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) And yet, despite all that, when you're watching his fastball on TV, it looks about the same speed as Shingo's. I can't figure that part out. Thank you. I thought it was just me. I mentioned that multiple times last year. 97-98 MPH for him looked like 91 MPH. And keep in mind I have the Extra Innings package and like to watch Broxton or Wilson come in for the save oppo. So I know what 98+ should look like.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) Has anyone seen anything about Freddy so far? I am curious where his price is after last year. That's a good question. I haven't heard a thing about Freddy Garcia. It's like Joyce Dewitt post Threes Company.

Kerry Wood signs 1 year, $1.5 million deal with Cubs
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Hey, he hit a homerun that game! I actually just loved that Marlins team in general for some reason(looking back on it now, I have no f***in clue why) before they even met up with the Cubs. I'll say this much, I felt like my TV was shaking when Wood hit that HR. I've never heard a stadium that damn loud. I would've went deaf had I actually been there. I literally yelled out loud after the HR "f*** IT! THE MOTHERf***ING CUBS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!" I just assumed they had destiny on their side or some s***. And then Alou hits his HR? I shut that b**** off until I was alerted by a friend that the Marlins had taken a 6-5 lead.

Kerry Wood signs 1 year, $1.5 million deal with Cubs
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Seriously? A press conference for Wood's return? He is living off a legacy of one game. Do you mean his chokejob in game 7 against the Marlins? God that was such a wonderful night. I seriously might not be alive today had the Cubs won. Suicide was an option. Well not really. But you get the point. I will ALWAYS love those pesky '03 Marlins. Well, except for Juan Pierre.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) Pretty good deal for them. Feliciano's a good reliever. I like the third year option. 3-year guaranteed contracts have proven to be suicide. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Wow... Remember when Eric Patterson was on the Cubs? Speaking of San Diego, they did get O-Dawg, 2 years $11 million. What's funny is that he's being paid as much as A-Gon, so he's literally A-Gon's replacement on the payroll. If I'm Hoyer I'd much rather have a no-name minor leaguer in A ball that might have a shot, even if it's a 5% shot, at becoming something. Patterson is horrible.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) I think the shine is off his star a bit. I think the best thing he'll get is 3/$36 or so with an option. Something similar to what KRod got. They're trying to trade him for a reason. Bard will probably end up every bit as good (save a few more BB) and is A LOT cheaper.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) Call me crazy, but I think it'd be awesome if KW tossed a couple ok spects at the Red Sox and took on Papelbon in his walk year. That kid can f***ing pitch. You're O.J. Simpson crazy if you think KW is going to take on a $11-12 million dollar closer for 2011 who had by far the highest ERA of his career and blew 8 saves, one who's one year away from FA and is looking for 5/75.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) With his uninsurable knees, I'm starting to wonder if Portland might not be a season away from deciding to cut the cord. Between Oden, Roy and, of course, Bowie over MJ, you have to start wondering about a "curse." lol

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
Yankees sign Pedro Feliciano. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/news/story?id=5929488 Two years, 8 million with an option for a third year is what's being reported.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (pktmotion @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) Wow Billy Beane is absolutely enamored with OBP. Between DeJesus/Barton/Willingham they should have an overall OBP pushing 400! OBP is great, but when you're relying on Matsui as your main power source. I'm afraid all that hard work has gone to waste. If they only had a legit slugging threat... Regardless Im always happy to see Oakland do well, their teams/players are always fun to watch. They've still got two of the game's best power prospects in Chris Carter and Michael Taylor, though the latter did struggle last year after murdering the minors in 2009. And the Grant Green kid is arguably the top SS prospect in baseball right now. I like what the A's are doing right now. Though Beane should never, ever be forgiven for trading away the man in my avatar. I see Willingham is a FA after next year. Deal is even better for the A's, as they most likely net two draft picks if they can't resign him.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Sorry if this was answered earlier in the thread: Bobby is a Type A or Type B? He was non-tendered. We're getting nothing back.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) true, but don't you think you hear more about Braden and Cahill? Braden only because of the perfect game (his grandma is annoying as f***) and mound-gate with pay-rod. Treveor Cahill is pretty unknown to the casual fan.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) And yet he doesn't get the pub that he deserved. I think he'll be a 20 game winner and enter the discussion as one of the best LH pitchers in the game, one who possesses THE best curve. I really like the A's in general. They've got an excellent staff and have really upgraded their lineup with DeJesus, Matsui and Willingham. Rodriguez has an electric arm but they've got a bevy of quality relief pitchers and then you've got our very own DLS waiting in the wings.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Except the BoSox don't have to pay him if they don't want to, whereas we did have to pay Linebrink. Papelbon is probably worth something decent at that number, especially come the deadline. Much more than just having to accept a bad contract. I've read that Papelbon is looking for something to the tune of 5 years and 75 million in FA. Good luck with that. I wouldn't touch him.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) So I'm guessing Papelbon's getting traded. Because Bobby as anything but a closer would be scary. Who's in the market for an $11-12 million dollar a year closer coming off a down season 1 year away from free agency?

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) Not meant to be a flame and I hope I don't get banned for my final-ever comment on Bobby. Bobby naysayers are going to discover there is still life in that arm and he's gonna be a valuable contributor for the Red Sox. He can still pitch. He still has juice on the fastball and he can handle pressure situations and will continue to handle them well. I truly hope our new bullpen corps does a great job, but we are all going to find out nobody is automatic back there. Bobby Jenks is a stud and is not washed up. Good luck Bobby. I will defend your performance as a Sox forever. I personally hope whomever has our best fastball is the new closer. Oh yeah, this post is definitely ban worthy. Calm down, greg.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) A's acquired Willingham, per MLB trade rumors for Henry Rodriguez (who's got a hell of an arm) and OF Corey Brown. Holy s***. Great move for both teams. The A's are a Beltre signing away from legitimately competing in that division. Of course, I can't blame them if they refuse to go 5 years. 3 years tops with a club option is the most I'd go.

Isn't it crazy....
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Keep those words close to your own heart. Let me guess, my obsession with the awful Jackson/Hudson trade or my hate for Juan Pierre? At least that's directly related to the White Sox. Joe Cowley writes for a newspaper. I can't believe this dude has this kinda impact on the board.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) If Papelbon goes, Bard's the closer. Jenks will likely settle into the 8th inning in Boston when all is said and done. Pap's ain't goin' anywhere unless they're prepared to eat some salary. He's looking at, what, $11-12 million after arbitration?

Isn't it crazy....
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) That wasn't even a rip on Cowley. That's just me saying how crazy we're in our current situation when it was doom and gloom not so long ago. He's right, though. Last year was fine because of the diss due to the AGON rumors. But f***ing get over it. He's just not that important.

Your final meal
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) In case you didn't notice, I only got the half slab of ribs What exactly is steak tar tar? Is that like a spread? That makes you look a little less obese.

Your final meal
QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) My appetizer would be tortilla chips and some of my homemade spinach dip and guacamole and some fried pickle spears with ranch dressing. Dinner would be medium rare Filet Mignon and Tri-tip with garlic mashed potatoes just like they make at the Brazilian place, gauchos ..then I would have some Velveeta shells n cheese macaroni with bacon bits, cream corn, maybe some cheesy fried potatoes too, maybe! On a different plate I would have a chili dog smothered in cheese and Tapatio ..or maybe some spaghetti smothered in Tapatio ..that's a toss up! Then I would have the huge Caesar salad they serve a Saddle Ranch in Glendale Az. I would wash that all down with a huge cup of Mt.Dew, with crushed ice and a half pint of Jagermeister. For desert, German chocolate cake and a big chocolate chip n banana milkshake!! Somewhere in there I would need an avacodo, salt n pepper and a spoon!! lol. Yo little ass couldn't eat that much. Oprah couldn't eat that much.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) Zero evidence to back up this claim. Evidence? lol. I don't have evidence that this year's Clippers couldn't beat the '96 Bulls.
