4/15 Gamethread: White Sox (4-5) vs Blue Jays (6-3) 6:07 PM
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) lol... Carlos with a f*** and a damn after missing that pitch. That at-bat shows he's still not where he was in 2008. Jansen was practically begging Carlos to take him deep.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) Mark my words. The Sox will regret trading Hudson if they decide to. I'm still pissed off about trading Gio Gonzalez. And that's not 20/20 hindsight.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Cause they've played some pretty piss poor team. They look pretty terrible to me. I doubt the Twins, Yanks and Bosox have much trouble with them. You can only play who's on your schedule. Point is they're currently crushing the baseball (Alex Gonzalez needs to be checked for HGH) and getting good pitching. The Houston Astros they are not.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) When you can say Lucy is the whole offense, things aren't going good. It'll be interesting to see how long we'll stay with Garcia. I'd support a shelling of Garcia in the next two starts if it means ridding ourselves of him sooner. We all know he'll eventually be replaced by Hudson, why delay the inevitable? Also, if Hudson comes in here and does the same things I don't care. May as well prepare our future starter (if he's still here...) for the majors. I really believe Freddy is going to have to go Chien-Ming Wang on us over the course of 4-5 starts for him to be removed from the rotation. I think they want to keep Hudson in AAA as long as possible to enhance his trade value. Let's face it: we don't do prospects. At least not ones that we draft. Gordon Beckham is a rare exception.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) We'll see what their record is at the end of the year. They might very will finish in last place. But as of April 15th, they're playing some good baseball.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Hey, it's ok! We won 2 games in Toronto! THat's all that matters. Splitting a series with an awful team is considered a triumph! Toronto is hardly awful.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) lol and edmonds swings at 3-0 and ends up striking out. idiots I'm following on Gameday. But it does seem most of the Brewers hitters have no plate discipline whatsoever.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) Cassel has really fallen off the radar since winning the ERA crown in the Southern League in 2008. The SL must've been really, really bad in 2008.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) They're making it look effortless with said starter and closer. Yeah, a whole 10 days into the season. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) I still think when it's all said and done, Liriano will jump in tha 1 spot as the season goes. Blackburn/Baker is their solid 2. Their offense and bullpen should be good enough to keep them in alot of games. The Tigers are the team that surprised me the most so far. If Liriano establishes himself as a legit #1, then, yes, we're in some trouble. I don't see that happening, though.

2010 Cubs Thread
Gameday says there's been an injury delay. Has Zambrano's arm fallen off yet? 114 pitches through 4 2/3 innings. LMAO. Another WP by Zambrano. 121 pitches in 5 innings. That's what I call efficiency. Now the vaunted Cubs bullpen takes over from here.

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) I'm saying that Oden would be a game changer right now if he didn't keep getting injured. He was turning into one hell of a player before he got hurt once again this season. Would he be better than Durant? Hell no but he certainly would be one hell of a valuable asset and would have Portland as one heck of a dangerous team in the playoffs. Can't fault Portland for taking Oden, though. Some are actually comparing it to Bowie over MJ. Which is ridiculous. Oden was projected to be a better version of Dwight Howard by most.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) It's going to be a struggle to beat out the Twins this year. Just a solid all around club. No team with Scott Baker and Jon Rauch as their #1 starter and closer is going to run and hide from anyone.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) He's had 2 starts. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) Don't tell that to Steve. We aren't allowed to overreact to the Sox having a terrible first 8 games but he can make an assessment on a pitcher after 2 starts. Except Javy has a track record of Steve's assessment that goes WAYYYYYYY beyond his first two starts. You would think Sox fans would understand this better than anybody. Javy is going to get skinned alive in NY.

Chris Young with a GW single to sink the Dodgers in extra innings. He's off to a rather blazing start. Hope he keeps it up.

AAP: Dayan Viciedo
QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:28 AM) I would think that this is almost a compliment considering he's starting the season 100% better than last year and he's also a just turned 21 yo playing in AAA against guys 3-4 years older A compliment? I'd hate to see what an insult is.

Ex white sox who are good bullpen guys now
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:20 AM) And how many of those are there in baseball? Bullpen guys who you know are going to be good year in and year out. Not very many. It's amazing to think we got one of the select few for Joe Borchard.

Predict-a-Bulls
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:17 AM) Yes he is nuts. Great poster, my boy, but can look very bad in future threads. (don't get me started on the Beckham promotion to AAA thread. ) He does have a point though if you want to argue Durant went from a star to a superstar this year. Points and rebounds went up (more-so points) not to mention his + efficiency (in game, getting calls, PER, etc..) is off the charts (defense improved as well). Hes had an amazing year, but I still don't see how a guy who was well known for 3 years now, pretty much a top 5 player in the game (even with the small market, but quality nba people and fans know who he is) takes that award from Hill, Brooks, Noah, Bogut, Blatche, or Laundry. By his logic, I'd give it to Rajon Rondo personally. C'mon, Ace. Ain't no human being on earth had Durant as one of the top 5 players in the game this time last year. Hell, he might not have been in the top 15. Now people have him ranked ahead of Kobe. And, yes, Rondo is a good choice. He totally slipped my mind for some reason. But I still stand by my opinion. No player in the game has improved over the course of the last year moreso than Kevin Durant.

Predict-a-Bulls
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:02 AM) I think your nuts, I do think Durant is awesome but I dont see him contending for the MIP award at all. Whatever. I mean, it's not exactly a prestigious award anyway. And nobody ever wants to win it more than once. Who won it last year? The year before that? Who won it in 2005? I'm sure most would have to look it up. If they decide to stick to the script and give it to a guy simply because he was a scrub the year before, then a guy like Bogut will probably get it (and Bogut is not that much better than he was two years ago). But Durant went from high scorer on a terrible team to superstar on a 50 win team in one year. That's what I call improvement. But like I said, MIP is about as meaningless as the Sporstmanship award.

Predict-a-Bulls
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:24 AM) He scored 25 ppg last season, the MIP usually goes to someone that was either crappy or mediocre and becomes a good player. That's the case most of the time. But the difference between KD this year and last is really night and day.
