Sox @ Cubs - July 1
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Who would possibly defend this turd. He's been s*** for a few seasons and is vastly overpaid and his stuff is vastly over-rated. I'm not saying he doesn't have good stuff, but its far from some of the best in baseball (despite what some people think). People are still thinking of Javier from Montreal and he's not near the pitcher he was than. Not to mention he's got no cohonies. But thats coming from someone who was left shaking his head when we made the deal. Not necessarily cause I hated it, more because I didn't get it. You know you suck when Jason starts clowning you. Good post!

Sox @ Cubs - July 1
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) He gave up a home run with the wind blowing out to a Sox killer. Winningugly83, You would honestly rather see Haeger over Vazquez? Get real. 5-4 Sox He's been bad all year. Period.

Sox @ Cubs - July 1
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Even I know we're still in this game. Our offense is capable of coming back in this. Vazquez is just a horrible weight on this team, though. IMO, he's been the biggest dissapointment on this team. I'd love to know what his era is if you take away his starts against the Royals. Even when he pitches somewhat well, he can't go past the 6th inning. I REALLY miss Chris Young right now.
- Happy B-Day CWSGuy406!!!

AL Central Central
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 04:34 AM) So is there going to be another day this season where the Sox, Tigers and Twins all lose on the same day? They all can't play NL teams forever.

Going over to the 'Dark Side'
The more bandwagoners that come over to our side, the better for the White Sox, I guess.

Roberto Hernandez
Hernandez certainly looked good tonight.
-
Montero sent down
Politte makes this bullpen DOMINANT if he can pitch like he's capable.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) Actually I have a bet with a cubs buddy that pays me 5 dollars per game difference. You might not have to work another day in your life.

The Cubs are still more popular than the White Sox.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) Is it just me or is a win over Pittsburgh not really worth getting excited about? That being said..................EAT s*** ASS-PIRATES!!!!! You certainly get pretty excited when we beat, in your words -- Kansas s***ty. The overall execution was horrid after the first inning. When you get 15 hits and score only 4 runs, you're playing Cubs-like baseball. Buehrle was Buehrle. The 'pen continues to sparkle. Imagine if Politte comes back strong.

The streak ends...............BUT!!!!
QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) I'm pretty sure Mackowiak can play first, i would think McCarthy would be the odd man out and would go back down to AAA to get starts. LOL. No way in hell that happens.

Javier Vazquez
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) One positive is the bullpen has been great the last 2 nights, even with tonight's loss. A real RF probably catches that triple. The 'pen has been great for about 3 weeks now.

Javier Vazquez
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I'd much rather hang onto Vazquez than Garcia or Garland. His stuff is considerably better than the other two, and the money is basically a push when you factor in the money we got from Arizona. His problems are in his head, and you can work with those issues. Contreras was an absolute mess when we got him, and that's turned out great. Give the guy a chance. Until this round through the rotation, he was still pitching considerably better than Freddy and Garland as well. His ERA at the start of the day was 4.43, which is a number we would have killed for from a bottom of the rotation starter 2 years ago. We got a little spoiled last year with all of our starters pitching pretty well most of the year. That doesn't happen very often. For a team that's 49-26 and was 3rd in the AL in runs allowed and 4th in ERA at the start of the day, people sure b**** about our pitching a lot. Good post Zoom. I'm just looking at the big picture. I want to start to see some consistency from guys not named Contreras and Buehrle.

Javier Vazquez
It's really starting to bother me that we're going into July with 3 guys from what we thought would be the best rotation in baseball sporting earned run averages right at or above 5.

The streak ends...............BUT!!!!
I had a feeling we were gonna lose this one after we failed to score in the 11th. It's all good, though. The Astros were due to get one of these games. This White Sox team is f***ing unbelievable.

This would be our first 10-game winning streak since 1977, correct?

Roberto Hernandez
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) I couldn't find the green. Roberto seems to have done well the last yr and half I agree. If the sox can't find a bullpen guy for the future [which will be hard, though Riske has some upside], better to get a one yr rental. Agreed.

Starting a staff
I can't choose between Liriano or Hernandez.

Roberto Hernandez
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) It doesn't matter who he gets out, he's old We'd only have him for the rest of the year.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) from a financial standpoint, is this one of the worst teams in history? Beyond a shadow of a doubt.
