AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
Not that I ever expected a 20 run explosion, but this offense is quite devestating now that we're getting consistent production from the bottom of our order now.

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Point taken. You obviously know a bit more about LaRussa then I do admittedly. Furthermore, if I upset anyone with my comments earlier on I apologize. I did not intend for that to happen, as I was just merely stating my viewpoint on the situation at hand. Nevertheless I am sorry for any trouble I may have caused. It's all good tigersfan. I've had no problem with you since you've been here. I hope you continue to post here.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 09:51 PM) No one's saying he's going to get suspended. It's just a stupid comment after all the things going on in this game. And he needs to back off. I meant suspensions for White Sox players.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) Really? It isn't going to stop you? You better learn, and quick... Kap, honestly, what's he saying that's so bad? I don't think Ponson was throwing at our guys on purpose. It was quite clear to me. I don't want to see suspensions just for the hell of it.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Yeah, how dare we lose the number 5 arm in our bullpen for 5 games or so. After the Rangers situation, you had to know something like this was going to happen. I'm not an advocate for that type of thing, but I think this was the perfect situation. Let's just hope they don't get pissed at throw at one of our guys' head.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) It's the principle of things. It's worth a couple games for Riske. No, not in this case. Ponson wasn't throwing at anybody.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) Things are being blown way out of proportion. Dirk Nowitski also happens to have made and taken more free throws than any other player in playoff history this year, passing Jordan a few games ago. Superstars that attack the hole will make their own breaks, it's just part of the game. ^^^ The great ones force the refs to make calls. Maybe the Mavs should ease up on the jumpshooting and start attacking more.

How bad is the Indians' pitching? Allowing 12 runs to the Cubs? QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) f***ing Tigers will not lose. We're not gonna get any help from the garbage NL central. We just have to keep the heat on them ourselves.

ST Poll: Should Pablo Ozuna become an everyday starter?
Hell no! Who wants to see Ozune play the OF everyday? He's perfect for the role he's in.

CUBS or Indians
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) I will root for any team to beat the Tigers, Indians, and Twins. And if they're playing each other, I'll root for the worse team. I live 30 feet from the Cell, so I know what the rivalry between the Sox and Cubs is about. But, that rivalry is dead this year. The Cubs are beyond done, and if them winning will help the Sox, I will hope for a Cubs' win. I've never seen their fans so pathetic. They don't talk s*** like they used to, and if they do, it's only in a friendly way now. They know their team is done. They know the Cubs have nothing on the Sox anymore. The Cubs can win these games and I'll be happy. Think about what Cubs fans have been through the last 3 years: 1) They blow their best chance in years to get to and win a World Series with a historic, epic chokejob that has me LMAO to this day. 2) They blow a 2 game lead the final week for the WC in which they got owned by the Mets and Reds, both whom were terrible in '04. 3) The Red Sox end their 86 year title drought. 4) The White Sox end their 88 year title drought -- and have a legitimate chance to win another one this year. I would've ended my life a long time ago if I was a fan of this disgrace of a franchise.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) Garland and Garcia would've had trouble dominating a AAA team with the way they've been pitching so far. Agreed that, overall, Sox pitching would fare better in the NL, but the back of the rotation would still get hit. Both of their eras would be atleast a full run lower in the NL.

Not many teams to trade with.
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) Considering the premium that's being placed on relief pitching I'd say there's a good amount of teams who would be very interested in both of them, not just teams with unlimited resources. Well, maybe I should say that their current contracts will make them a lot harder to trade.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) I think your dead wrong about that..... Well, maybe teams like the Yankees and Red Sox would be interested. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) The Cubs would be stupid if they did no ttry to move Greg Maddux at the trading deadline. Pierre as well, even if it's for a bag of balls. Ditto wood. At some point, it actually makes sense to just sell a guy to see what you can get. They can try to move him all they want. I think they should. I just don't think you're gonna get anything of any real value for a guy that could very well retire next year. I can't imagine any team wanting Pierre. But they're are a lot of dumb teams out there. These are the Cubs we're talking about.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread
Aren't you allowed to throw the ball backcourt in that situation? No way the refs could botch that call if it were illegal. They're not that bad. And, yes, officiating in the NBA has been horrible for years. I just found out that you're allowed to throw the ball backcourt on an inbounds play. So the refs didn't miss anything there.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) As I said in an earlier thread, its this reason exactly the Cubs should throw up the white flag on 2006 today if they are smart. They have a bunch of guys who would have huge value on this market, and would go a long way towards reducing payroll, while rearming them into good shape for 2007 and beyond. Think of what a Zambrano, Dempster, Howry, Eyre, Barrett, etc could get you on the open market with NO ONE offering players anywhere close to that calibur? Thankfully the TribCo still has to try to sell the public on the fact that the Cubs are still in it, so they will keep miring themselves in their mess for years to come. SS, I totally agree with what you're saying. However, who do they really have that they could get a lot for? I can't see any team/teams emptying out their farm for Greg Maddux, who's just about on his last legs. Wood and Prior? Not in a million years. Pierre? No way. Todd Walker? I think he could net you something decent. Guys like Howry and Erye are untradeable due to their bloated contracts. Now, if they're willing to part with Zambrano or Ramirez, they could definitely get a lot for either of those guys.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) Be careful what you say. Just a couple post above you just said noone expected the Indians to have the bad pitching they are having this season. I'm just giving you a heads up.. Naw, I'm more than confident the Twins will continue to struggle offensively. It's what did them in last season; no different this year.
