QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) Sure. But they didn't add Kevin Durant. Then he should've kept his mouth shut and recognized that there was nothing Cleveland was going to be able to do to counter that. No, he did the exact opposite. He went public over and over and disrespected a legend along the way because he wanted more help. He wanted a playmaker. He got just that. He wanted a big after Birdman went down. He got a big. He got one of the best shooters in league history for free. No excuses.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) Joakim Noah out for the year. Having knee surgery. Love Jo and hope he can get better. We can all rip on Gar / Pax, but I will at least give them credit for not tying the Bulls up to an horrible long-term deal and allowing us the opportunity to be flexible. I could have easily seen them trying to keep one of Jo / Gasol and instead they made the right move as it related to both of them. That said, I hope somehow the surgeons work a miracle and we can watch some healthy Joakim Noah in the future. Bro, he's done. Been done.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) lol. Yeah, because poor Golden State hasn't added anything since they lost to Cleveland. Wtf are you talking about? I said GS is the favorite. But you don't get to complain about not having enough help when you have: PG:Irving/Willliams SG:Smith/Korver/Shumpert SF:LeBron/Jefferson/Williams PF:Love/Frye C:Thompson/Bogut They're two deep at every position now. He cried, b****ed, moaned, disrespected Barkley, etc. His wishes have been granted. No excuses.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) They still aren't in the same league as Golden State, imo. Not in the same league? I wouldn't go that far. But when your 3rd best player once scored 37 points in a quarter and 60 points in 29 minutes you are the heavy favorite against anybody. I'm just saying Cleveland has gotten LeBron everything and I mean EVERYTHING that he's asked for. I don't want to hear a thing about LeBron not having enough help come June.

Looks like Bogut to the Cavs is official. The Cavs, despite being WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over the cap, have added Korver, Derrick Williams, Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut. Those are four quality roleplayers that address every need Cleveland had coming into the season. So all of LeBron's crying has paid off. Ball is in your court now, buddy. No excuses come June.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Not one person has guaranteed anything about those picks. I have guaranteed this team isn't winning a damn thing the next few years with Jimmy here though. You're delusional(to use your term) if you think this team is going to be a contender with Jimmy these next 3 years. And you're absolutely delusional if you think Jimmy is a superstar on the same level of guys who lead their teams to championships like you keep insinuating. Dude is a great player but he's not leading this team to a championship. s***, they're a few games from being out of the playoffs (after missing them last year) in the east with Butler. Like I said, AT BEST the 5th best player at his own position. Great player. But GMAB.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:01 PM) Newsflash: no team is contending while Lebron still walks and the Warriors still rain threes. The ONLY chance the Bulls have to compete for a Finals spot is to build around their superstar, not build from scratch through the draft. I again ask how has Denver, Minnesota, Sacramento, Philly, etc done after obtaining big hauls for superstars or retaining good draft picks and assets? Shoot, even Boston now. They're not winning anything because they don't have a superstar.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) This. But nah, half ass the tank One of Ball/Fultz/Smith and possibly DeAndre Ayton in '18? Yeah, you would need some lottery luck but I'd take that chance all day, everyday.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:11 PM) It couldn't have been just for two top picks. Salary cap restrictions wouldn't have allowed it. Of course. You would take back whatever crap you had to from the Celtics actual roster to make it work. I just can't believe they offered up both though.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:00 PM) You would be getting two top 4 picks. I'd do that without thinking twice. Butler is great but this franchise isn't winning a f***ing thing with him and you aren't getting more value than two top 4 picks for him. You certainly are better off doing that then acquiring the mediocre players that you usually accompany such a deal. Preach. The Nets are an atrocity. Two potential top 3 picks+ for Butler? GMAB. That's full speed ahead with a legitimate front-office in place.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Were there any deals? Did Philly really not move Okafor? Nope. All minor, cap saving deals. The big deals were ibaka to the raps and of course the cousins deal.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:19 PM) I really don't blame them for not wanting to give up that Nets pick, not with this year's draft. Great as LeBron is, i'm just sick of him walking into the finals every year unchallenged for the most part. I REALLY wish the Wizards had traded for Cousins.

Celtics are the real losers to me. Unless you really believe that all of Ball/Fulktz/Smith are high-level all-stars if not superstars in the future I don't get why you don't make a move.

I'm not so sure the Wizards are any closer to beating Cleveland with George in place of Porter (wizards obviously give up more than Porter) rather than just keeping Porter. Porter+ for Cousins? Now that would've been something.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) Except for the fact that Paul George did that before his leg exploded. Should I cite Derrick Rose's pre ACL performance as to why he is better then Damian Lillard? Since that injury, Paul George has not had the same upside. He is still good, but not the same player he could have been (before that injury...yes I'd have taken PG over Jimmy Butler...at that time). Things change, Jimmy Butler has been ascending the past couple of years and was better then Paul George each of the past two years too, so no it is not based on one year. This year he has been significantly better (as Butler has taken another step forward). And like I mentioned, Paul George is due to be a FA in a rising cap and will be far pricey then Jimmy Butler who is signed to a freaking "sweetheart" deal. In fact, Butler and Isiah's deals are two of the better contracts in the association. And I guess you missed last year's playoffs when George put it on the Raptors to the tune of 27/7.6/4.3/2.0 and nearly 3 3-point makes per game. Butler's playoff stats last year? Oh that's right. He wasn't there. Butler is a stud. You don't have to minimize George to make him look better. And George is signed through next season btw. I don't know why you keep bringing up his FA as if he's a FA this summer.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:52 AM) Yes...Jordan...that is why I responded the way I did...it was because you finished with this. No, if you say Butler > George. Fine. You said Butler >>> George. That's a big difference. Look, Paul George is 26 years old and took that juggernaut Heat team from a few years ago to 7 games. Do the Celtics need to pony up if they want Butler? Yes. But you're kidding yourself if you think he commands that much more than what Paul George does based off of the fact he's been better for 50 something games or whatever this year.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) OMG...in no world is Paul George > Jimmy Butler as a basketball player. Fit wise...the Pacers could use a guy who can score down low like Jimmy. Celtics have plenty of shooters. Every analytic out there says that Butler is superior...the eyes say is superior too. Dude, are you reading what I'm typing? I didn't say George was better. I can get with Butler being better, at least this year. But you're acting like the difference between the two is like the difference between KD and Melo.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) Get this garbage out of here. Butler is the superior player, period. Not even a discussion. Add in the fact that Jimmy is under contract for longer and on a freaking value deal and it weighs even further to why Boston would prefer Butler. Butler has a 25 PER this year (coming off a season just above 20) while George is at 18. That is a huge difference. Not even close and Butlers last couple years PER's have been better then George's. It isn't like he's an outlier. Butler also has been healthier in his career. I like Paul George and would want him on my team but right now, Jimmy Butler >>> Paul George...factor in contract and the gap widens even more. He asked who the better fit was. Not the better player. As Boogs said, George is much better off the ball and a better shooter. Front offices look at stuff like that. I'm pretty sure Danny Ainge isn't saying to himself "Yes, we want Butler over George because he has a higher PER!!!". They're both high-level two-way players. But nobody outside of a Bulls fan has Butler >>> George.

With Jokic off limits, there's nothing there I want for Jimmy. Also apparently the Bulls and Sixers have a deal in place for Okafor, but the Sixers are balking at taking Niko back. We've got greek freak, unicorn and trust the process in just our conference and we try to counter with somebody more suited for 1998 nba than 2017 and going forward? #facepalm.
