QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 11:12 PM) http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CH...200510120.shtml Mark Buerhle pitched a gem and said after the game that he was ready to go out for the 10th. I believe it the way he was pitching that night. A.J. found himself in the midst of yet another controversy, and, as always seemed to happen that year for whatever reason, Joe Crede came through in the clutch when you least expected him to. Possibly my favorite game of the entire run, especially when you consider the importance of it in the overall scheme of things. Losing this game would've meant going to Anaheim down 0-2, which may have lead to eventual elimination instead of the championship run on which the team embarked. C'mon, dude. a 2005 playoff memory? WTH doesn't remember EVERY single game from the 2005 postseason? This is for random games throughout ones fandom that some might not remember.

The game against the Astros in 2006 when they were down 9-1 in the 7th and tied it at 9 (Iguchi went ham) but ultimately lost 10-9. I might have screamed as loud as I did for Konerko's WS slam. I remember thinking to myself we were gonna repeat at that moment. Sox were coming back left and right the first half of that year. 3 runs? 5 runs? Didn't matter how much they were down by. They were gonna find a way.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 05:13 PM) Paxson comes out and says they need to be more athletic. Yet, signed Wade and Rondo lol Where did he say this? NM. I found it. What a f***in' joke. Not to mention drafting guys like Doug and Valentine. SMH. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) It not that simple. They would have to take a lot of salary back and Boston is one team without a lot of wasted salary. The plan for the Bulls seems obvious. They are paying Wade to recruit someone next season. And hope he has enough legs left so they can have a big 3. They can't be delusional enough to think they had any shot this year. Hopefully they get Sacrementos pick. But unless a miracle happens and they somehow get Curry or Griffin, which IMO, is delusional, this was just to entertain their ticket holders a couple of years before they really suck again for 4 or 5 years unless there is another Lebron or Jordan they can draft. Tyler Zeller sucks and is making $16 million through next year. They could make it work. But sure. Just like MJ got free agents to come to the Wizards let's hope a 35-year old Wade can do that for Chicago. Not hating on you. You're right. I've heard that dumb plan on radio and online. Wade doesn't have that type of influence on anybody who's not his best friend. Especially not at 35. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) I don't think that trade is possible with a little thing called the salary cap. Yes, the Bulls would have to take back salary. And who cares? You're an 8th seed with butler. Take back some bad contracts to make it work and set yourself up for 5-7 years. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 08:25 AM) It seems like a match that painfully makes sense for both sides. I wish we'd had the pieces to fleece the Nets like the Celtics did. The entire organization should be arrested for rape. Not sure what the situation is as far as matching salaries or whatever (zoom). Now this is the LeBron James era. I can accept coming up short against him. But the way it's going we're going to be coming up short against the likes of Giannis/Parker/Middelton and Embiid/Simmons and whatever potential stud they draft from this loaded upcoming class. -

And don't tell me the Celtics wouldn't seriously consider that. Butler with Horford and IT? They could legitimately challenge Cleveland for the conference title. -

A real front office would be stalking the Celtics FO right now. Alright, JB (much as it pains me to see him go) for Crowder and those two Nets picks. That, along with a lotto pick this year if that were to happen, would set the Bulls up for the next 5-7 years. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) With his contract, I assume there is zero chance of dealing Wade. He's slightly better than Wizards Jordan. And he's making how much? Pathetic. Just pathetic. -

God I hate the Bulls. Love the NBA. Hate the Bulls. Hate the front office. Hell, I hate most of the fans. Bulls fans make me sick and should be ashamed of themselves and disposed of somehow. "not everything is about athleticism and 3-point shooting." "being fundamentally sound and having IQ is important too." I'm not saying anybody here is saying that. But i've heard/read nonsense like the quoted on radio and other bulls sites, etc. They are so irrelevant and behind the times right now it's depressing. The Bulls would be out of the playoffs if the season ended today. And they need to stay out of the playoffs. This upcoming draft projects to be one of the best in at least half a decade. Why is Wade even here? Why did they sign Rondo? Niko/Doug are defensive liabilities in the modern nba and aren't even that good at what they're supposed to be good at. SMH. This is one sorry ass organization. But hooray for 7th/8th seed. -

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Yeah, I think I got suspended like 3 times back when I was a teenager. Those were .. interesting times. Ozzie Guillen brought out of the worst of me. The Trayvon Martin thread brought out the worst in me. I said something awful about a poster (who happens to be a cop) out of pure emotion. And even then it was only a 30-day suspension. other sites i would've been banned. nothing wrong with soxtalk mods. -

i'll say this much. it takes A LOT to get suspended, let alone banned, from this site. The mods are 98% of the time fair and balanced. i've been suspended like 4 times and i deserved each and every one of them looking back. lol. jason and kyyle in particular are good dudes. Rowand? trash. kidding -
QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) No. I don't give a f*** if anyone cares, to be completely honest. What I do give a f*** about is every time I sign on I see negativity/sarcasm rather than posters contributing anything of substance in threads - instead basically posting "ah who gives a s***, guy blows" or "what a loss". If you don't care, don't post. #meltdown

What if the Sox go 20-10 in April and amaze us?

QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) The cubs made crazy favorable trades to get Addison Russell and Jake Arrieta. They made much better Draft picks and got lucky that Bryant was there when they had a top pick. They basically stole Rizzo. There is no guarantee that this rebuilding plan will do anything but make the Sox stink for several years and come back somewhere near the middle of the pack. Trading Frazier, Robertson and Melky probably isn't going to net any players that will elevate the Sox to top contenders for a WS. Similarly, teams are not offering players that could be game changers in exchange for Quintana. So this rebuilding plan has a lot of pitfalls. It might be better to moderate the rebuild or half azz it as some say, in order to stay reasonable competitive. There is no guarantee that teh Sox get a top 3 pick in the Draft no matter how bad they are because there are several teams that are probably worse. And, as we have see, even when the Sox have a top 10 pick, they don't a;ways make the right decision. I didn't know elrockin had multiple accounts. -
Listened to the entire interview. Loved every single word that came out of Rick's mouth. This is what I've wanted for years. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 05:53 AM) I get a kick out of the people who say they will go to more games this year. Maybe there is a chance you will but overall people won't. If the teams the last 5 or 6 years were hard to watch, and last year's team was actually really good at home, the 2017 team is going to be hard to stomach. What is compelling about watching Derek Holland give up homers and if the don't leave the yard, watching Avi Garcia chase the down? Nothing. Maybe in a couple of years, but if you thought the baseball was too bad to watch before, it isn't going to be better this year. And I have season tickets. Even Cubs fans stayed away to a certain extent when they did what the Sox are doing. The team finally has a plan/purpose. I can see people going to more games - even is they are going to lose A LOT initially. For me, even if I go to a game and we lose 12-2, i'm still hype because I know what's coming. -

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) Keep in mind too that this rebuild is not going to take just one offseason. Can't fix this many mistakes in one year. But with Hahn truly in charge, gotta feel good about the next 2-3. You'd have to be a full blown dumbass not to know this. It's gonna be rough in '17 and '18 as far as W/L goes. But it's been rough 90% of the time since '05. Come '19? My goodness. This team is gonna be so sick. For the first time in years it feels good to be a Sox fan. What a time to be alive! -

White Sox Not Willing to Trade with Cubs

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) "Kenny Williams getting ripped by Sox fans? Not in this lifetime." - Someone in Bridgeport, circa November 2005 (Granted, given the Cubs resources, it would be downright shocking if they only made the playoffs once from now until 2027) I wouldn't trade 2005 for anything (inb4 multiple people say i'm not a sox fan). But what the Cubs pulled off is so much more impressive than the Sox it's not even funny. They were AT THE BOTTOM. They came up with a plan, TOLD people that it would be rough at the beginning, and then proceeded to executed it to perfection. Sure, you'll always have a few retards. But a Cubs fan at this point talking s*** about ANYTHING the front office does? I mean. I can't. I just can't. -
