TRADE THREAD III ~July 9 - July 15
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) The fact that we could still get Dunn makes me happy. But it would create a logjam in the OF unless of course we trade PK and place Dunn at 1st. Who would we give up for Dunn??? B-mac, one of Anderson/Sweeney/Young, and probably somebody from the major league roster. Just please don't trade Young.

Is Freddy a stopper?
It would be nice if the offense would atleast pretend to be a legitimate major league offense against these guys.

Preston Wilson to the Nats
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) Looks like the national league club on the north side will get him now. No problem. They're already out of it.

7/8 Games
Lucy's average is up to .286 now.

GAME THREAD 7-8-2005 SOX vs A's
Mark will get em tomorrow. No way he loses to these guys 3 times in less than 3 months.

Harris thinks he should play everyday.
Where is Steff? This is her dream thread.

Bobby Simmons
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) Talk about being overpaid. Damn, Holy s***! I didn't even realize he would be making close to 10 million a season. A little steep for a guy that's had one good year. Simmons is a good pick-up. But he shouldn't be making anymore than the MLE.

GAME THREAD 7-8-2005 SOX vs A's
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) What have you done for me lately? To me, PK has been just about the most disappointing player on the team this season, along with Uribe and Rowand (expected Rowand and Uribe to continue to show improvement at the plate). PK has the 19 homers, but he's struggled all year at the plate in terms of hitting liners and getting runners in. PK is nowhere near the overall hitter he was in the past. I agree with that. I was simply talking about everybody's reaction when he was thrown out earlier.

GAME THREAD 7-8-2005 SOX vs A's
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) Just cause we diss him, doesn't mean we're not rooting for him to do well. Hell, I hate Timo more than anyone else in the history of the Sox, but I still am happy if he does something good to help the team. I just think it's silly to kill the guy for being slow. We've all known he was slow for years. I guess i'm just getting sick of the "what have you done for me lately" attitide i've seen on this board of late.

GAME THREAD 7-8-2005 SOX vs A's
QUOTE(kman @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) we dont have to leave with him, we can get rid of him. If that happens, fine. But was of right now, he's a member of the White Sox. So i'll support him like all the other players. Not diss him to hell for being slow. He's been slow for years.

Damn guys. Chill out with the Konerko hate. We already knew he was slow as f***. Something we have to live with.

Are we done with the A's after this series? If so, thank god!

7/7 Games
Honel= :puke I'm still not givin up on him. Why does Borchard do this to us every year? He goes on these super hot streaks that always give us some simmer of hope that he's FINALLY figured it out. What a tease.

Larry Hughes
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...with_cleveland/ They needed a shooter more than anything. But after losing out on Allen and Redd, they were obviously desperate. Hughes is a fine all around player. I think this is a good move for them. Now if they can resign Z and sign Antonio Daniels with the MLE, they're in business.

Contreras
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) El Duque is 16-9 in 33 career starts, 35 career postseason appearances. His postseason ERA is 3.59. That's all I need to know. But Vafan thinks he can't outpitch the mighty Paul Byrd.

Alex Cora to the Red Sox
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) I remember the Cora coming to the southside rumors. I'm glad we have Ozuna though and didn't get Cora. Ozuna >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cora Not even close!

Prior gave up a 5 spot
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) As much as he sucks, I'm sure they could find a taker for Patterson. I also think that Burnitz would be a decent addition for a team needing an extra bat. At this moment, I don't think they'll be sellers, but if they don't get their act together soon, it might be too late for them to be buyers. You might be right about Patterson. There's always a gm that's gonna think "a change of scenery" will do the trick. His trade value has got to be very low, though.

Prior gave up a 5 spot
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Pssh, I was told last year they had unreal talent and they were going to win the series, what happened? That was Brando. lol

Prior gave up a 5 spot
QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) Cubs lost #7 in a row!! SHUTOUT, I hope Smoltz shuts 'em out in the night game.. can you say "no playoffs"? 2005 is all our's. I'll never forget the sick feeling of watching the Cubs in the post-season while the Sox were at home. All the love, hoopla, hype that was generated around them. It was like we didn't exist. Now it's our turn. Hopefully, unlike them, we go all the way.

Prior gave up a 5 spot
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Funny thing is, Franco was old when he was with us in '94. To think that he's still a productive player at the age of 104 is impressive. As far as the Cubs go, through the first month or so I thought they were just going through the motions of a long season. It's really starting to look like they aren't a very good team. They might be sellers soon. Other than Prior, Zambrano, Lee, Ramirez, they don't have much to offer.
