I'm shocked. We actually got a win from our 5th starter. Props to, Rauch. I didn't see the game. But 1 run in 5 innings againt a very potent Indians offense is good enough for me. Now the question is? Do we stick with him? Or is Kenny givin him a chance to raise his stock? Which is what he's no doubt doing right now.

Maybe we can't match their pitching staff 1-5. But we can no doubt match them on offense and in the pen.

The Cubs r no doubt better than the Sox right now. I can name atleast 10 other teams better. That doesn't mean i'm gonna crown the Cubs world series champions on June 24th. They still have a lot to prove before anybody can truly call them a great team. That division is a lot better than it was last year. So there won't be any going into September a whopping 3 gms over .500 and then fattening up against argubly the 3 worst teams in the national league like they did last year.

If there's ever 1 positive thing I can say about the Sox. THEY ALWAYS GET UP TO PLAY THE CUBS. I'll never forget that gm in 2002 against the almighty and "overrated" I may add, Kerry Wood. We were down 8-0 at one point and come back and won like 13-9..Beautiful

Our ENTIRE staff is in a funk right now. It's frustrating. Other than Shingo and maybe Marte, nobody is gettin the job done right now. I think in the last 3 weeks we've gone from 2nd or 3rd in the league in era to 9th or 10th. Lets just hope it's a June swoon and that will get back on track soon.

If the Mavs could land Shaq without having to give up Dirk or Nash they would easily be the favorites to win it all.

The Astro's r having enough problems as it is with their bullpen. I can't see why they would trade, Dotel. Getting Beltran would help them on offense and defense though.

LOL. Looks like the Cubs bullpen proved me right. They blew a 9-5 lead including a wild pitch by Farnsworth that scored the winning run. :fthecubs

God damn. Is this Soxtalk.com or Northsidebaseball.com? I could go to a Cubs site and not see as much Cubs ass licking. Are the Cubs a good team? Yes. R they the 27 Yankees? NO. They don't have a true leadoff hitter for one. Say what you want about the Cubs pitching last year. THEY DON'T GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF KENNY LOFTON. They don't have that this year. They're not a great defensive team outside of Lee and Gonzalez. I'm sure we all know that defense counts for a ton in the post-season. They have an AVERAGE bullpen at best. Nobody knows how Hawkins is gonna do longterm as the closer. Borowski, Remlinger, Beltran, Welmeyer and just about every other bum they have sucks. Farnsworth is as inconsistent as they come. Mercker is nothing to get excited about. Add to that, people act as if they know for sure that Wood is gonna come back and dominate. Who's to say he doesn't struggle at 1st? Who's to say beyond a shadow of a doubt that his injury won't bother him all season long? Nobody knows. And for the 50th time. THE MARLINS R THE TEAM TO BEAT.

I'm with you on us needing bullpen help. But, Dotel? The Astro's r having enough problems with their pen as it is. I don't see them trading Dotel away.

Why r we looking ahead to the, Cubs? We've still got 3 gms left with a HOT Indians team. If we don't snap out of our funk. We could be in 3rd place before we even get to the, Cubs.

This team needs a shake up. We need a couple quality trades to happen. I think back to the Cubs of last year. They weren't s*** until they FLEECED THE Pirates in aquiring Simon, Lofton, and Ramirez. That's what we need.

The Cardinals still need 1 more quality starter to get over the hump. The Slubs r lookin good right now. I'm still stickin with the Astro's to win the division. They were my pick before the season and will be my pick till it's over.

Jason Schmidt's last 11 starts = 9-0 with a 1.87 era. It's a shame the Giants are gonna be in the race all year. I would give up the farm system for this guy.

I was thinking the same thing. I hoped to get more for, Rauch. But, we're desperate for arms in the pen too.

You have a point. Santiago does have MAJOR league success. And like you said, he's pitched really well for the, Knights.

I have ZERO faith in our system pitching wise. I'm praying Kenny goes out and makes a move for another relief arm. Then we have to hope one of the other scrubs comes around.

Jackson was very solid the first month or so. I'm not sure what's happened to him. Pollite has been trash all year. We're back to being in the same boat we were last year. Last year the only guys we could count on were Marte and Gordon. This year it's Marte and Shingo.
