He's been better than we think because he almost always makes it interesting (in a bad way). But, he doesn't blow many saves and maintains his composure out there. He does give the Sox the best chance to win when they're leading right now. That being said, I don't see them spending a lot to keep him since there are some young arms that could be developed into closers. If, however, he can be had cheap, maybe we'll see him for another season or two. I suspect another team to pay him more, though.

With Lopez's issues and Cease's intermittent issues, Dunning is very valuable to this team. He's shown that he can go out and give you 5 strong innings, striking out a bunch of guys. As he gets stretched out and is allowed to throw more pitches, he might get 6 innings. Being a strikeout pitcher means he'll throw more pitches anyway. Beyond 2020, I think he easily fits in as the #3/#4 starter on this team. His stuff is nasty with so much movement coupled with his great control. He doesn't need the big fastball.

The White Sox team of the past few years loses this game big. This 2020 team is really something special. I don't know how to act watching meaningful, exciting baseball every day.

No issue with having Yolmer there. He's a much better option that Goins.

I'm okay with no moves. If Lynn wasn't traded, Texas was asking too much. It would have been nice to have one more SP, but not if it would have cost too much of the future.

On a side note, I haven't got a lot of work done today.

My concern is that he's the biggest prize out there now, and there are a few team, the Sox included, that could really use another SP.

In their defense, they haven't really talked much about it. There has been plenty of rumors that they've looked at pitchers, but much of what we're going off of is speculation.

Bucket must love reading the board, dropping a somewhat cryptic post, then watching the board get worked into a frenzy. We all trust bucket, so hopefully this is good news.

One of the busiest teams at the trade deadline in a long time. I wonder what they had to give up. Their farm system has already taken quite a hit.

Let's see who else they shipped out.

I expect a trade to happen today, and I think the Sox will land a starting pitcher. There seems to be some noise around more than one player being acquired, and I would't mind seeing an outfielder or bullpen piece joining the team. Purely my speculation, but Morrow might be the most likely and Clevinger the least likely. However, I won't be shocked if it's a pitcher we haven't really discussed.

After what I’ve seen from Dunning, I don’t want to see him traded. If one of him, Kopech, or Stievers will be traded, I think Dunning needs to remain a Sox.

That run is on Eloy. Incredibly lazy effort going after that ball.

Maybe the only good thing about no fans is the ability to quickly change game times to avoid weather.

Jason is good and getting better at the play by play stuff, and his humor makes it fun. Steve is extremely knowledgeable about baseball, and his analyses are great. I like when Jason asks Steve what he'd do in certain situations, what pitch he'd throw, etc. I truly enjoy listening to them.

As someone else pointed out, this team went years with the catcher position being a black hole. After Pierzynski, the Sox used Castillo, Narvaez, Smith, Flowers, Soto, Navarro, Sanchez, Brantly, Phegley, Gonzalez, and Anderson. And I think we all remember that track record. Now they have one of the best catching duos in the league. McCann is showing that last year may not have been a fluke, and he's incredibly valuable at calling games. I don't know what the Sox will do with McCann, but I can't imagine they won't try hard to re-sign him. They may end up over-paying him, at least in comparison to what another team may be willing to spend. But he'll probably be worth it to this team.
