Tim Anderson signs with MIA, 1Y/5M
For me it's tough. He went from a favorite to a guy I wanted off the team. Ultimately, I can say I'm glad he found a job, and I'm glad it wasn't with the Sox. I doubt there was interest from the Sox to sign him nor from TA to sign here.

Good for Tim. I hope he figures out his off field stuff, because I think that certainly attributed to some of his on field issues.

Free Agents and Spending Teams Remaining
Yeah, I know. But some of those players still out there are going to end up on short-term deals or getting less than they expected. Who would have thought that Bellinger, Snell, Montgomery, and Chapman would all be without jobs as spring training games started?

ST Thread
I'm off tomorrow, and after some work around the house, I'm camping my ass on the couch and watching baseball. I used to not give a damn about spring training, but the last couple years my interest has increased. And even though it hasn't been a bad winter at all, it has seemed to last forever. I'm ready for spring and bitching about White Sox baseball.

Free Agents and Spending Teams Remaining
This is ridiculous. The one thing Manfred said that actually makes sense is having a FA deadline.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
The team moving is probably the least likely outcome. A new stadium will be built, whether the team is owned by JR or someone else, or the lease will be extended at GRF. On a side note, I think it's humorous we're talking about the Sox, owned by JR, and a possible future team in Nashville, for a group including LaRussa. It's highly unlikely either will be around (or at least competent) to see a new stadium or an expansion team.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Yep. I get it. The team sucks, JR is a penny-pinching ass, the Sox will always be Chicago's #2 team. But, now there's a (very real) possibility of a new stadium, and we're bitching about it. It would be the best thing to happen for the Sox and their fans since 2005. Plus, once (hopefully) the green light is given to build, the value of the franchise goes up, significantly. JR, who may not be around when the stadium opens, could very possibly sell the team between now and then.

I love the White Sox team this year! I'm excited to be a fan of it.
I'm excited about this season for a couple reasons. First, I love baseball. I can, and will, watch any game, and we're not far from having a baseball game on every night. Second, even though I know this team will not be good, it has a bunch of fresh faces, including some young ones that are hopeful to be part of the future. The last 1/3 of last season was so bad with the team looking like they had no interest in playing that I'm glad the roster was turned over. This team will be easier to cheer for. Granted, I will probably be sick of the losing soon enough, but dammit, I'm ready for baseball. And I'm a Sox fan no matter what.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
So, if Moncada has a monster year, do the Sox pick up his option? Or look to extend?

Cease To Padres per Passan
God, Boob is insufferable.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Moustakas has played second. Let's leave it at that. DeJong will be fine defensively. At the plate, well... The catcher position has...lots of experience? Fletcher will be the starting right fielder. Colas will be in AAA. And that's probably how it should be.

Interesting. ?

- Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Yeah, not better. But the team was so bad last year, and there were quite a few guys who gave up and had bad attitudes. This year's team will look better and will probably win a few more games. I was so disillusioned at the end of last season that I'm actually looking forward to seeing this hodgepodge of veterans and newbies and scrubs.- Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
I’ll say this much about Getz: He has completely flipped the roster. This team looks very different.- Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Yeah, I wasn’t thinking of him in place of Sheets. However, I suppose he could make the team over Sheets. There’s no way they’d carry both, right? Right? *insert scared face emoji here*- Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Fine because I don’t see how there’s a place for him.- ST Thread
The only one I recognize is Kopech. He looks pretty jacked. Hopefully he's also worked on pitching in the off season.- Sox looking at building in South Loop
I think they will try their hardest to have it ready for the 2030 season. They'll have to get the process going very soon, and then need every minute of the next 6 years.- Sox sign Corey Knebel and Dominic Leone to Minor League deals.
Did Knebel have surgery after the 2022 season? I couldn't find anything other than he had a torn shoulder capsule. He seemed to have a nice career beforehand. Leone looks like another guy who could be a decent bullpen option, but the Sox are really loaded up on BP arms.- Sox invite 25 to Spring Training including Danny Mendick
Cool to see Mendick getting an invite. He has a real chance to make the 26-man, especially as a bench piece. I remember seeing Chavez take the mound for the Cubs in 2022, and I thought, "Who is that old bastard?" But he had a great season last year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him be part of the bullpen this year.- Sox looking at building in South Loop
It seems like the majority of Sox fans are excited about this possibility, but there is a part of the fanbase that will always complain about everything. Whining and stomping around about parking at a stadium that hasn't been built and throwing fits about the thought of maybe using public transportation is wild. Let's see what happens if and when the stadium is built before throwing our hands in the air and saying the team just move to Nashville. Sorry, I'm being hyperbolic. But I swear some people would complain about the taxes if they were given a million dollars.- ST Thread
At this point, I don't care that the team is going to suck. This has been a long-ass winter, and I'm ready for baseball. Up until the past few years, I didn't pay much attention to spring training. Now that the Sox have some potentially exciting prospects, it will be interesting to follow what goes on in ST.- Sox looking at building in South Loop
It's definitely worth the hassle vs. driving to the park, finding parking, and dealing with traffic leaving after the game. The new stadium would be literally right next to the Rock Island Metra tracks, and it wouldn't surprise me if they add a stop right at (or very close to) the stadium. They could add later departures on game nights, too. If this stadium is built, the Sox and the city will do something to help with parking and/or public transportation. - Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
