That Alex Rios kid is turning out to be a decent ball player. Hudson's walk-off hit was awesome. His defenseive play was a 180 degree turn from the other night when he was amazing. It was good to see him redeem himself. Jake looked good without looking good. He definitely didn't have his best stuff, but his okay stuff was good enough.

I imagine Q is still upset about being tossed last time he started. Let us see if he casts a spell on the Blue Jays. The offense was okay last night; it was the pitching that did us in. I feel tonight we will see better results.

Seems like a good comparison. I would pretty much agree with their assessments.

When I first glanced at the title, I thought it said Juan Calendar. I was like, "who the hell is Juan Calendar? Is he any good?"

If the All Star Game continues to mean something, something has to change with how players get selected.. If Konerko, Dunn, Sale, Peavy, and even AJ played for the Yankees they'd be in no problem. As it stands, the first baseman voted in will not be close to being the best.

Thread's spun out of control a bit here, although the arguments are entertaining. I don't agree with a C for Dunn, either, but I can see both sides of the argument. My view is that Dunn would be expected to (over a season) bat .240ish with 40+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. He's on pace for those numbers, although his BA is a bit low. His OBP and OPS+ are high. I say that because he's performing as he should, he gets a high B/low A. If his BA was up around .260 and he had less strikeouts, then he'd be a solid A. I suppose you could argue Konerko is an A+, and I'd agree with that, because he's performing above expectations. Whether or not those numbers are sustainable is moot if you're grading him on his year so far. Who knows what the rest of the year holds for him. But, if he ends up with numbers like .300/30 HRs/100 RBIs, is that a grade A performance? I'd say so. So if Dunn ends up with numbers like .245/43 HRs/110 RBIs, wouldn't that be an A?
