QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) On one hand, good news for our Sox. On the other hand, bad news for a few of my fantasy teams. i had the same reaction... lol

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) The person that could effectively generate power from cat poop (or dog poop) would be a gazillionaire! A never-ending completely renewable resource! or human poop for that matter

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) Maybe shoota does feel that way...but even so it was just a question with some sarcastic undertones. I wasn't critiquing GoGo's punctuation at all, I was just wondering why the response was done with such protest to have an exclamation after each sentence. It was like he was pissed off cause shoota asked about it. I think you need help in comprehension, not punctuation. i read them as happy exclamation points... am i wrong?

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) Funny and ballsy, in my opinion. Most fan bases would be luving it and eating it up if they had that kind of coach doing something goofy like that. ala bobby valentine and the mets

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 12:25 PM) looks like AJ gonna spend the first month of the season on my bench in fantasy, gaining the cover of the calendar wallpaper here at soxtalk is never a good sign to avoid a slump. dude Brian is totally giving off Roy Hobbs vibes in your sig - love it

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) Ooooooh good call, I forgot all about him, but he's going to have a nice year. just picked him up in two leagues - even dumped buehrle for him. i figure he'll at least surpass Buehrle in strikeouts and frankly i think he'll have a lower WHIP and possibly ERA as well

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) So who is a bigger villan, George W Bush or Ozzie Gullien? The World may never know. Edited for accuracy. And to answer your question, because it makes for piss poor discussion when every single problem with an organziation is blamed pretty much on one person. dude you're being just as ridiculous as the people you're trying to rip. No one disagrees with ALL the moves ozzie makes just like... i'd hope... some people are intelligent enough to realize he has also made some huge mistakes - this being one of them. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) But hey, atleast our minor league depth should make replacing Hall somewhat reasonable. What? There is no depth at the catching position? or any position... cept 3B and maybe outfield... -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) That's f***ing great. Now we lose one of the upgrades we got this offseason, AND we get to listen to people blame Ozzie to make themselves feel better. How dare he play Hall at a position less risky than catcher to get some time on the field. That bastard. ok come on now he played Hall in a position he has almost NEVER played before in a spring training game to get him some at bats? really? does he REALLY need that extra at bat or 2 that he got to add to his .400 batting average?? i just dont get it. if it were Jermaine Dye at first and this happened you'd be screaming as well. Playing someone at a position that they're NOT FAMILIAR WITH makes it just as "risky" as playing catcher -

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) Cmon. We're just teasing. 1. This years potential Liriano's - Tim Lincecum (in AAA to start), Alex Gordon. 2. Players on the decline - stay away from - Freddy Garcia, Andruw Jones. 3. Comeback players - Alex Rios, Sammy Sosa, Todd Helton, CC Sabathia. 4. Solid players that you can draft in late rounds. - David Ross, Adrian Gonzalez, Chuck James, Ricky Nolasco, Connor Jackson, Akinori Iwamura. 5. New closers - Jose Valverde, Joel Zumaya, Nolasco (closers this early are speculation) 6. Underrated / Overrated players - Underrated - Rios, Overrated - Ryan Howard. Also, I am in a keeper league, and we get to keep two players. Which two would you guys keep out of all these: A-Rod, Vernon Wells, Jason Bay, Roy Oswalt, Maggs I'd say Wells and Oswalt personally...

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 07:23 PM) Yes...yes I was.... i agree with you man, what has erstad done except GRIND to show that he belongs in our CF over Anderson? NOTHING. For the love of God anderson finally looks like he's pulling his s*** together and we send him to AAA? wow... i'm just hoping Erstad goes down early and hard. How sad is that?
-
another one - watch for Oliver Perez this year, just saying. he's got a spacious park to work in and so far in spring training he's been looking like his 2004 self. who knows - but at the end of last year and through the playoffs he was hot.
-
in the last 4 years, Erstad only hase one season with an OPS significantly better than Anderson's last year. And Anderson will do nothing but improve while Erstad is severely on the downhill... i just dont see the logic

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) People said that exact same thing with Pods/Iguchi in 05. Granted we didn't score a ton of runs then, either...but we did when it mattered most. I think we need to see it in action before we can judge it. Adjustements can always be made -- if this even ends up being the lineup. BUT erstad hasnt been very productive for the last few years... why would he bounce back now?
-
it's pretty ridiculous that Pods/Erstad are going 1-2... we're not gonna score ANY runs this year... i can guarantee we wont jump out of the gate like in 05 or even close with this pair
-
Alex Gordon, Chris Young, Bmac, John Maine, Mike Pelfrey, Andre Ethier... among others
-
Ok here's my Soxtalk League 3 team - just drafted: C Russell Martin 1B Paul Konerko 2B Marcus Giles 3B Chipper Jones SS Jose Reyes OF Grady Sizemore OF Andruw Jones OF Adam Dunn UTIL Nick Johnson BN Alex Gordon BN Conor Jackson SP John Lackey SP Scott Kazmir SP Tom Glavine RP Chris Ray RP Fransisco Cordero P Andy Pettitte P Bartolo Colon P Derek Lowe BN Mike Gonzalez BN Cliff Lee BN Mike Pelfrey

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) I've been saying those things for 5 years, glad to see that people who get PAID to be scouts can see it now. wow how bout you get off your high horse. you were saying that in 2004? bulls***.
