  1. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) Dieing in EQ was almost too much of a b**** especially if you were in the middle of nowhere. I guess after Planes of Power came out that made it a lot more easy to get around still that game was too rough to become mainstream today, people like it easy. I can remember a wipe on Cazic Thule (Plane of Fear) where it took like a week to get bodies back because some people had been feared across the zone. I had an original epic weapon on my druid, some of the grinding I did was just insane. I still remember the name Venril Sathir.

Yeah I love workaholics. The MDMA one was so on point. I dont understand why Blake wouldnt just take the drinks away, no way would I let all those old ladies drink my s***. Also Big Bang Theory was really good tonight. James Earl Jones aka Darth Vader is a nicer guy than youd think.
  3. If I was Sherman id just send back a Cubs logo and a "Wait 'til next year"
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) I agree with all of this. There was a supposed KOTR online that was supposed to come out and it never really got off the surface. Let Blizzard do the MMOs. Meh WOW was just EQ easy mode. And SWTOR is free right now, if anyone on this board has any interest send me a message. Im currently playing and could give you some tips. I just wish that there was 1 game that was like old eq, where s*** was actually hard and there were consequences when you f***ed up.
  5. I actually dislike trolls. Just annoy and frustrate.
  6. Anyone have a trick to get a sd micro card recognized again. I think mine died due to cold, got it working 1/2 times but just really want to check that I got all the information off and then buy a new one.
  7. Only problem with your argument Tex, is im not sure thats fairer for the kids. What is the fairest is if they have the choice to go to school for free or go to the pros.
  8. Kanye's never been the best at writing lyrics. I joke about how half the time he just rhymes the same word. Even when you go back to College Dropout, songs like Spaceship and Through The Wire use this technique. I think his flow is different on Yeezus, but I dont think its worse. Its just very different, which is why I dont even know if its rap anymore. Its just music and its amazingly dark and beautiful at the same time. And he has something to say, he just struggles to find the words, which is why its the music that speaks and strangely the words are almost background.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 08:59 AM) I will go ahead and say that, though I truly do adore Macklemore/Ryan Lewis' effort (does that make me an idiot?), Kanye's album is on another level. But he's a prick, so I don't care. Yeezus is probably the album of the year, and it may not even be that close. He just obliterates it, the problem is its too edgy and there are no pop songs that the 14 year old crowd will get behind. But that album is seriously freak show level, its Kanye's Dark Side of the Moon.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) This is probably particularly important for the NFL where only 1 game is played at each level - difficult to justify giving one team home-field advantage in a 1-game single elimination format. This is an odd argument. The Super Bowl stadium is picked years in advance, there is a chance a team actually gets home field advantage. Being the best means performing in any condition.
  11. Try and check the clerk of the circuit court for local counties. You can generally search for free and Id probably not recommend a tenant with a bunch of eviction lawsuits.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) I know I'm in the minority here but I disagree. Any players can play well in a sterile controlled environment. I like to see the best players over come the adversity and prove they can adapt to win. While the quarterback is the most important player, can he lead the team to a win in adverse conditions. I like to see do things they aren't normally asked to do and see if they are great players or just someone who can operate when things are good. This is just my opinion and preference of what I like to see. I know most people disagree but it's just a preference. I agree. I like to see what team can adapt on the fly.
  13. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) Eminem is more of a pop artist than Macklemore is. Lil Wayne is more of a pop artist than Macklemore is. I feel like you are calling him a pop artist based purely on him being white, not having typical violence/money lyrics, and not having enough bass in his songs. Im not even sure what you are arguing anymore. Are you trying to suggest Macklemore is hardcore rap? Underground? I mean should you compare him to KRS-ONE? (edit) And I dont think you are right either. A lot of Macklemore's hooks are anthem style, which is pop. If you listen to "I Am Not A Human Being 2" (Lil Wayne's new album) its significantly more focused on the rap/lyrics, than pumping a hook to dance too. Even "Curtains" and "Rich as f***" are substantially grittier. Once again, its personal preference. The fact you like Lupe/Macklemore is reflects that you like a highly polished album. Nothing wrong with that, just a different style. My favorite rap songs are much darker/harder/grittier.
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) No, you are implying that white people love all white rappers, or they love them because they are white. What if I said to a black guy eating at KFC, "Man, black people are crazy about their chicken!!"?? You don't think that sound implies anything other than "That's just a black guy who happens to be eating chicken. It makes sense, it's just a fact." It does. Im white, so that doesnt make a lick of sense.
  15. I think Macklemore is a rapper. Its just hes a very pop rapper in a genre that generally disrespects pop. Even on Jay-Z's old school album that won a grammy he remarks about how he wont get respect for the hook on his song "Money Cash Hoes": I know they gone criticize the hook on this song Like I give a f*** I'm just a crook on this song Or Moment of Clarity Music business hate me cause the industry ain't make me Hustlers and boosters embrace me and the music I be making I dumbed down for my audience to double my dollars They criticized me for it, yet they all yell "holla" If skills sold, truth be told, I'd probably be Lyrically Talib Kweli Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense But I did 5 mill' - I ain't been rhyming like Common since When your cents got that much in common And you been hustling since your inception f*** perception. Go with what makes sense Since I know what I'm up against We as rappers must decide what's most important And I can't help the poor if I'm one of them So I got rich and gave back, to me that's the win/win So next time you see the homey and his rims spin Just know my mind is working just like them So this is actually an argument thats been going on way before white/black rap. Macklemore is just the perfect storm to hate for a certain portion of rap fans. Hes poppy and it appears hes being boosted by being white.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) Good Lord was Imagine Dragons / Kendrick Lamar f***ing awesome. That Kendrick song has the best hook and bridge of 2013.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) Hey, look, exactly what I was talking about earlier with everyone discounting him because he is white! You were the one who just said this has nothing to do with race, and now apparently it has something to do with race. Nice. You mean Im stating a fact. Correct me if Im wrong but you are a white person and Macklemore is a white rapper. Thinking that Macklemore is a good rapper has nothing to do with race.
  18. Lupe is okay, not really on Kendrick's level as a performer. And when you get "dragged" to a concert, I presume you arent going to love it no matter what. This year I saw Lil Wayne, TI, Macklemore, Kendrick x2, Wu Tang, Nas, Mac Miller, Kanye, Kid Cudi and who knows what others. Of the people up for awards, Kendrick/Kanye were the best, just mind blowing silly good. Macklemore was fun, good time, but its vanilla background music. I think the problem is that generally speaking "rap" fans, want gritty and Macklemore is so polished. Its just preference but it goes back to the roots of rap and the street performance. Macklemore is so sterile, its the Kayne influence, which is why people wanted Kendrick to win. Hes more polished than Wayne, but he still has that street grit. The win of Macklemore is just more about the state of rap and there is just a section of rap fans who will never like emo-rap. Even Kayne deals with it, Soon as they like you make 'em unlike you Cause kissing people ass is so unlike you The only rapper compared to Michael So here's a few hating-ass n****s who'll fight you And here's a few snake-ass n****s to bite you And I don't even wanna hear 'bout what n****s might do Old n****s mentally still in high school Since the tight jeans they never liked you Pink-ass polos with a f***ing backpack But everybody know you brought real rap back I love me some Yeezus, its my #1 this year, but my first thought after his concert was "Kanye's not a rapper anymore".
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:23 PM) I've heard The Heist at least 20 times all the way through. It's a fantastic album, one of the best in years. And it's 100% a rap album. I laugh at all the people who call it a pop album just because it got radio play. As if no one realizes Mack's story of being an independent rapper and that somehow this CD and his songs were pushed to the airwaves through a major label. You know you actually HAS a major label that pushes his songs to the radio? Kendrick Lamar. He is more inherently a pop artist if you are going to try and use that as a measuring stick. BEST IN YEARS????? This is why people get insane when a guy like Macklemore wins. He put out an okay album, but white people get crazy about how good white rappers are.
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:16 PM) Ok why? And who cares if Black Eyed Peas won if they put out a rap album and it was the one of the best? Because most people respect rappers based on freestyle, rhyming and live performance. Macklemore really hasnt proven himself in any of those categories. Mackelmore has some great hooks on his album, but if Im giving out the best rap album, Im not giving it to the best hooks, Im giving it to the best rhymes. And Macklemores actually rapping/rhyming isnt at the same level as Good Kid/Maad City. I mean I love Dre, but hes not the best rapper either. And the Black Eyed Peas would be the same as when the Fugees won. Its just a square peg in a round hole. And the Fugees werent white.
  21. Eh Willie Nelson (and Christopherson) was just sad. But I love Highwayman and thats probably the last time it will ever be played, so sometimes you tip your cap to a legend.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 03:55 PM) Nah, not so much. Eminem pretty much has a pass because of where he grew up. Mac Miller is kind of in between because he tries to look the part of a gangster and a rapper, but he doesn't have the background that Em has, so it's really kind of a grey area for Mac. lol Eminem wasnt given a pass at all. When he first came out, he was attacked as another "Vanilla Ice" or "Snow". The reason he gets respect is because hes a proven battle rapper was basically Dr Dres attack dog for a good 5 years. Even worse, people blamed him for Snoop/Dre allegedly not being friends. That of course all changed when 2001 dropped and Eminem killed Dre on his own s*** "Whats the Difference." I can still remember the day I heard that album, which hilariously lost to "The Marshall Mathers LP" for the Grammy. I doubt even Eminem thinks his album is better than 2001.
  23. It has nothing to do with race. He just has 0 credibility as a rapper. It would be like the Black Eyed Peas winning.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) The guy cleaned house in rap categories and nobody in the rap world would ever consider him to be among the top in that genre. He should have been honored that he was even nominated. But winning all of those awards? Lame. Even Macklemore wrote an apology to Kendrick. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1721204/m...t-grammys.jhtml Lets be honest, Grammy Awards are for who sells the most to 14 year old girls.
