I picked him up after he got his first victory, and he's given me three wins since then. His control has been absolutely superb. Now, I'm going over all of my player profiles and what not, and everyone says that he's a 5th starter or a long reliever at best. He spent 4 years in AA, but he's still only 24 years old. Did people just completely miss the mark on this guy, or what? David Bush was supposed to be the sleeper in the Jays SP picture, but he can't f*** with Chacin as far a I can tell.

Damn it, he was my 5th or 6th overall pick. I just released him and picked up Matt Herges. Hopefully, Fassero won't be getting any save opportunities. This really sucks. Now my bullpen is hurting big time with only Joe Nathan, Derrick Turnbow, and Matt Herges. Who else is furious about this Benitez injury? And who are you going to replace him with? I'm looking to trade Vernon Wells for Guillermo Mota. The team that I'm looking to trade with has Wagner, Hoffman, Mota, Kolb, Baez, and Affeldt. Hopefully, Vernon's 2003 season still has folks interested in him, because I can't wait to get rid of him.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) doesnt make a difference how much depth they have spurs are going to beat them period That's precisely what I said. The Spurs are gonna beat everyone out West unless some team knocks them off in miraculous fashion, period. That doesn't mean that the Nuggets suck. -

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) I wish I could say you aren't an arrogant, whiny know-it-all... I dare you to respect other people's opinions, even if they contradict your own. Respect other people's opinions when they enter a thread just to state that the Nuggets suck on the strength of Carmelo Anthony? I have a hard time holding back on here. -

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) As much as that depth impresses you, opposing teams are not at risk of any of those dominating a game. Hmmm, I wish I could say that this statement makes sense, but unfortunately... Chi-guy has a track record of being an idiot around here, kinda like, uh, no I won't go there. -

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) pff nuggets suck like i said earlier This doesn't surprise me at all. You should never open your mouth when it comes to basketball. Go complain about the Sox or something..... The Nuggets would take the Sonics, Mavs, Kings, Rockets, and maybe even the Grizzlies in a 7 game series. Unfortunately, they have to play the Spurs in the first round, so they won't advance. They have the most impressive depth at PF and C IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. Marcus Camby, Kenyon Martin, Nene Hilario, and Eduardo Najera? Do you know your basketball, LOL? -
Dude, the German deli in Oak Mill Mall over on Oakton and Milwaukee has like 20 different Haribo gummy products, all top notch. The beef jerky is also exceptional.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) He has been more douce baggy this year than in years past. Word is he does not like being the third option and that has caused some problems in the locker room. I never had anything against him intil what he has recently said. Wow, his track record (especially with Dallas) would indicate that he's a team-oriented player. I'd expect this from Jalen Rose or somebody like that, but wow, this is a shocker. -

Trust me, teams have it out for Ron Artest as well, just like they used to have it out for Dennis Rodman. How about the entire freaking Knicks squad from the early-to-mid nineties outside of Ewing and their various PGs? Just about all of the Pistons from 87-91, namely the aforementioned Rodman, Mahorn, Thomas, and Laimbeer. What about Alonzo Mourning, Bruce Bowen, etc? I could probably sit here and go on forever. I see no race issue, but maybe that's just me. I am shocked at Jamison's comments. He has a great reputation in this league. Words that should come to mind are charismatic and altruistic, not douche and bag. -
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:20 AM) Their draft wasn't QUITE that good. You're probably thinking of the 1974 draft when they selected 4 HOF: John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Mike Webster, and Jack Lambert. They selected Terry Bradshaw and Mel Blount in 1970. They also took Joe Greene in 1969, Jack Ham in 1971, and Franco Harris in 1972. Now THAT is some drafting. Yes! I posted about that 1974 draft a while back as well. 4 hall of famers in the first 5 rounds. But yeah, you gotta give it up to the Cowboys. Holy s***, what a draft. Them and the Chargers keep loading up on D like it's nobody's business. Teams that I will be following closely next year: Dallas Carolina San Diego Baltimore

2005 White Sox are the 2003 KC Royals

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) I have seen more comparisons written about this White Sox team and the 2002 Anaheim Angels. The one thing that is the same between this team and the Angels is the deep starting rotation and bullpen. The 2002 Angels and 2005 White Sox have very similary qualities. I agree about the pitching depth, but their offense doesn't really compare at all. The 2002 Angels offense is more like a poor man's version of the 2004 Red Sox offense. Eckstein .363 OBP, .293 AVG Kennedy .345 OBP, .312 AVG Anderson .870 OPS, 30 HR, 125 RBI Glaus 30 HR, 110 RBI Salmon .880 OPS Fullmer .880 OPS Erstad .283 AVG Spiezio .810 OPS Molina Bench Palmeiro .300 AVG in 263 ABs Wooten .292 AVG in 113 ABs Gil .285 AVG in 130 ABs Nieves .289 AVG in 100 ABs Fabregas The catchers were a major disaster for the 2002 Angels if we're talking offense. Fabregas hit .193 and Molina hit .245. -

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 06:42 AM) Harden has definitely looked amazing so far this year. I will have to say that he is our biggest challege of a pitcher to face so far. Hopefully we can get to him early and Pods can harass him on the basepaths enough to eek out a victory. Harden has been pitching lights out, but he has nothing on Johan Santana. But yeah, I can't think of anyone else. This game's gonna be awesome.
