I'm not joking, and I'm not seventy. I just don't like blatantly stupid and 1D humor.

    Sin City

Meh, Adaptation is better at that (though I wouldn't use campiness to describe anything in Adaptation). And the movie managed to not suck.

They joined the film world, that's what!

From Dusk 'Til Dawn sucked. Robert Rodriguez sucks. Cut the production.

The Life Aquatic, of course. Any of Wes Anderson's other three films are spectacular. I saw Closer, it was good, but not great. Not half of what The Graduate was. I am about to watch Fellini's 8 1/2. I'm sort of excited, but trying to get in the right mindset first. Any of these Allen films are fantastic: Annie Hall, Banana's, Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex but Were Afraid to Ask. I highly reccomend Dr. Strangelove. I think it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Granted, I have a very dry sense of humor...hence my infatuation with Wes Anderson. Bull Durham is my favorite baseball movie, it is hysterical. Last but not least, Coffee and Cigarette's. It's wonderful, I absolutely loved it.
  7. Would they court Delgado? Overpay him if needed? Would the Sox land Gordon in the deal? Hell, if that's the case, I'd be for it. If not, which it most likely isn't...f*** IT.
  8. Try two good years, one average. 2002 - 60.3 IP, 2.83 ERA 2003 - 79.7 IP, 1.58 ERA 2004 - 73.7 IP, 3.42 ERA Those are numbers I'm not about trading. Now that Marte finally has some support behind him in the bullpen, those numbers should be expected to get better. You'll notice that all the teams winning championships these days have above average bullpens, and perhaps not staffs. The Red Sox last year didn't have above average starters after Pedro and Schilling, neither did the Yankees, or the Cardinals. All those teams had one or two front line starters (hell, some didn't even have that) and a hell of a bullpen. I'm f***ing fine with Grilli as the fifth starter given our bullpen as it is now.
  9. Let me not be the last to say, "f*** that trade." Why does Marte's name keep coming up in trade rumors? He's the anchor of what looks to be a solidified bullpen. A bullpen, that if the White Sox get Matt Clement, can compensate for Jason Grilli as a fifth starter and a low producing offense. I'm not against trading Konerko and Garland for a top of the line starter, nor am I against trading Shingo or any of those other chaps in the bullpen, but Damaso Marte is equal to, if not better than all the lefties out of the pen (certain closers excluded). Damaso should be an untouchable. Even with his struggles last season, the chap was still damn effective. His numbers don't lie. All I'm saying is to KW is not to f*** us over. Don't cover another hole and create another. It's worthless.
  10. I'm all for it. I fear not having a true back up SS at this point, however.
  11. My question is: do any other teams have intertest in him? Do the White Sox even have interest or is it just pure speculation?
  12. The guy is 40, it shouldn't cost us Marte. This trade weakens the bullpen once again. I say no.
  13. Tell that to the Giants with a straight face. AJ is a prick, I hope he doesn't land with another team.
  14. Wins for a pitcher are by far the most overrated stat. Lowe pitches for Boston, a team that has been a WS contender for a few years and he pitches behind one of the leagues best offenses. Matt Clement, however, has been on a staff behind a terrible offense and a barely above average team. Hence the two records. Matt Clement > Derek Lowe Lowe's continuous downfall is scary. He's dropped off big time since his one good year in the rotation.
  15. I'm surprised this got only 6 replies. I haven't seen it in any major news circuits, however. Have I just plain missed it?
  16. Have I been misled in thinking this guy isn't the answer at SS? Was it wrong of me to think the Sox should have shopped Konerko to free up money for Edgar Renteria and a cheaper pitcher? Is it just that I've missed the fact that Juan Uribe can in fact hit .275 and stay away from long dead slumps and still be a productive hitter while slumping? What's the story on Uribe? Is he, or isn't he?
  17. SInce when is Juan Uribe the White SOx third best hitter?
  18. I believe Hudson + Grilli is better than Perez + Garland. Hudson is a proven ace, a proven 15+ win pitcher. He would top Garcia and Buehrle, two pitchers that would anchor the #2 spot on pretty much any pitching staff in the league. Odalis Perez is, in my opinion and #3 starter given his career ERA of 4.00...which, mind you, would be higher had he pitched in the AL throughout his career. While Perez and Garland is more balanced, it tops out the back end of our rotation and merely makes it a "good average rotation." Hudson tops out the top of the White Sox rotation and give them an "above average top of the rotation." Essentially, three pitchers that can win 15 games regardless of who is behind them. Can Odalis Perez guarantee the White Sox 15 wins? Not likely. While Grilli is worse than Garland, a #5 starter isn't expected to win 15 games and carry an ERA near 4. He's expected to win 10 games and keep an ERA around 4.5-5. In watching Grilli last season, I believe he is capable of this, and if Tim Hudson is on the table at the mere price of Jon Garland and Scott Podsednik, one would be a fool not to take it. Maybe it's just me, but Hudson, Garcia, Buehrle, Contreras and Grilli looks better than Garcia, Buehrle, Perez, Contreras and Garland. The first rotation mentioed featured 3 top line starters. The second offers three merely average starters at the back end.

    Bored

It's 5 AM CT. Is there anyone online that feels like talking? I'm bored out of my mind and can stay away until night. I am suffering (or not?) from insomnia. Send me a PM and we'll exchange AIM names if you feel like talking. What a creepy post. I'm not a creep though.
