  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Remember when the Kool-aid man made a guest appearance on the Family Guy, that was great. One of the funniest moments in that show.

    Bad Bill...

Cosby funded Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song. So he's alright.
  4. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) As Soxtalk's resident James Bond expert (self-appointed, sure), let me clear up some details for everyone. Tarantino's involvement happened late last year, it was an Idea between him and Pierce Bronson to go back to the grittier Bond films like From Russia with Love, etc. Quentin is a big fan of that era. They both approached EON productions (Barbara Broccoli, specifically) about it doing the first Bond novel "Casino Royale". EON had recently re-claimed the title after several years of legal wrangling. Thats why it had never been produced before. They were turned down, flat. EON claimed the success of Die Another Day said the movie-going public wanted Spectacle over realism. Then the overwhelming success of "The Bourne Supremecy" and the DVD success of the re-issue of"The Bourne Idendity" changed their minds again. The public will love realism. But those movies made them believe the public would want a YOUNGER Bond. Bye Bye Pierce. So, now they have gone back to "Casino Royale" and they are looking for a younger Bond. They do have to beef of the book, a tad. The plot is rather simple, about Bond trying to backrupt a terrorist organisation in the Casinos of France. Plus the hunt is on for a younger Bond. Mid 30s Top Choices are Dougray Scott and Gerard Butler or perhaps an unknown. They believe Bond is the star and a name actor might not be necessary. Jude Law was considered too pretty, too thin and not rugged enough for the type of Bond they want. Hugh Jackman might be too expensive Clive Owen, a fan favorite since the movie "Croupier" might be unattainable due to his serious acting career taking off. Plus he is in his early 40s. Believe it or not, he might be too old. Though a solid choice. Eric Bana, who was a stand-up comic in Australia (who would have thought after The Hulk), has no interest in playing Bond and has said so. The film has already been delayed a year due to these set backs. This has prevented the producers from getting the film out in 2005, so another could come out in 2007...007 in 2007. A marketing dream they regrettably crushed. I hope this clears up some things...If you guys have any questions I'll be happy to answer them. It's Tarantino, he's famous for making washed up actors great. Throw any shlop in there and Tarantino would make him golden until he was exposed in another film. Just not Jude Law. He's a shlop no matter what. It's an interesting story nonetheless. I'm not a Bond fan, and my loyalty to Tarantino has dropped dramatically since Kill Bill, but I'd go to the theatre's to see Tarantino's Casino Royale.
  5. Word is Tarantino wants to direct it.
  6. Last year I dreamed the White Sox won the World Series.
  7. The older picture of Frank purposely makes his arm look huge. THe angle of it is shot to do that.
  8. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) He ain't Delgado, Sexson, or GLaus. That's the type of deal I think he;ll be looking for. I'd say see ya to Paulie and I'd be looking for a more of a versatile player. I'd get rid of him to not have to put up with his slowness or before he reverts to bad Paulie. I do however, anticipate him resigning as he is supposed to be good in the clubhouse and I think KW likes him. IMO, Konerko is better than Sexson and Glaus.
  9. At 19-19, the Bulls currently have a spot in the playoffs. Will the Bulls current trend of basketball continue throughout the season?
  10. SS2k5, you need to put up a quote from the article. I love that you put up all these links, but it's easier to gage if I want to read it with a small caption from the article.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) And PHI has to stop ATL's running game...it's a monster. Eh, I don't think it'll be too much of a challenge. The Eagles mold fits a lot like the Bucs used to: fast. Vick will have troubles in Philly.

    Country Quiz

You're the United States of America! You were probably a big bully in school, and odds are that you're still a big bully. You make promises that you break, you manipulate everyone around you, and you're awfully materialistic. On the other hand, you're pretty inventive and have a really good sense of justice. You just never get around to applying the idea of justice to yourself. Incredible potential remains yours to take advantage of.
  14. Didn't we get Hermanson as a late innings man? If so, what's the point of this thread? Neither have similiar roles.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Alex Cora... it is between him and Iguchi and I think KW will not fork over the dough to get Iguchi. Plus his brother is our third base coach. What is your and other people's fascination with Alex Cora? Willie Harris is just as capable, if not more. Look at the numbers, Alex Cora sucks.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Could you imagine a defense of: DL: Brown, Harris, Boone, Ogunleye LB: Seau, Urlacher, Briggs CB: Surtain/Madison and Peanut S: Brown and Green/Freeman No.
  17. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Ohh come on like no one else has this problem. All i'm saying is if your going to make more then one f***ing size then you should make different varieties. It's boring only having to have one style to choose from... Ohh well... One, there are different tyes. Two, what the hell does it matter? You won't see much if it anyways...if you know what I mean.

  22. QUOTE (Chisoxmatt @ Dec 31, 2004 -> 10:53 PM) Good point. My top rotations are: NYY ATL BOS Minn STL CHC CHW How could you say the Twins have a better starter than the Sox? After Radke they have a bunch of number fives.
