    PS3

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Better graphics, online play is better, and just those types of games using a mouse is much better than controller. The PC will always be the best thing for games if you have one that is good enough to support the top tier games. I've always prefered a handheld controller over a mouse and keyboard, and keeping a PC up to date for gaming is far more expensive than buying a PS3.
  2. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) You think we will get a top notch player for one year of returning from back surgery Joe Crede? I wish we could have worked something out with Crede almost as much as anyone, but that's not looking too likely anymore. Crede is obviously worth more than a B/C level prospect to the organization. It ain't that hard to trade a Joe Crede for a low ceiling prospect, even with time off and an injury risk. I don't doubt the White Sox want to deal him, but I do doubt it's for a player that won't help them today or even in the next 15 minutes.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) Tonight's was a steaming pile but for the most part I tend to enjoy the episodes based on how much I like the character featured. Juliet is one of my least favorites. She looked good in that bikini though.

    PS3

QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 07:33 AM) Ya its just a matter of the developers learning how to max out the potential of the system. naturally, it is going to take longer, but games are already much better than just a year ago. The blu-ray discs can hold so much more data, that eventually games are going to much bigger/longer/thorough/graphically impressive than anything a disc for an xbox 360 can possibly hold The crazy thing is a blu ray disc can't hold what Metal Gear Solid 4 developers wanted. They're cutting stuff to make it fit as we speak.
  5. QUOTE(KyKyGruber @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) Noah Lowry was pulled from his start Monday after walking nine batters in one-plus innings against the Rangers. This is getting quite alarming. Lowry walked three, hit a batter and threw two pitches to the backstop in his first outing last week. He had a couple of more sail to the backstop today. It appears that he's either injured or he's suddenly gone Rick Ankiel on the Giants. source - www.rotoworld.com It has also been said that white sox scouts were present at the game. So who still wants this trade to happen? Maybe he doesn't want to come here.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) How is the blu-ray player in it? I'm thinking of getting a blu-ray player as a gift to myself for surviving my busy season (our client sign-off is Thursday and I've worked 80 hr's this week already and average about 65 hr's a week dating back to January 10th) but I was going to see if I would just be better off going with a PS3 (using it primarily as a blu-ray player and than on rare ocassions if a real good game came out I'd use it as that). I say that because I love my 360 and have all the controllers and a decent collection of games (so the only thing I'd ever get for PS3 would be a game I like that is specific to such system). Is the BluRay player real good on it or is it like the old school ps2 where the dvd player was completely sub-standard? If you like condensed versions of games, you'll keep doing that. The X-Box is so inferior to the PS3 in terms of hardware it's not even funny.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 07:59 AM) So if you received your internet bill from your cell phone company, this would work for you? Isn't it really just a billing issue? And would this not allow you to drop your home phone bill, which does reduce one bill? I haven't had a hard line in years anyway. And T-mobile is so cheap that I never come close to reaching my max minutes.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) It takes your current cell phone and gives you better service at home. Basically you would have a mini cell tower at your house. Basically it removes another barrier to people going 100% cell phone and dumping their land line, poor reception inside homes. I understand that, but I don't think it's "the future." Now, were those towers to provide in-home hot-spots for internet access, then I might fork a few down for it given their internet speeds were as good, if not slightly less than what I can get from my local cable provider just to consolidate my bills. But seeing as how this product appears to feed off the internet that the owner already has, this is impossible. Plus, living in the big city that I do, I don't have a problem getting cell reception anywhere I go around here. Not even in the apartment. I know I'm only thinking about myself here, but I imagine all 3 big cities (NYC, LA, CHI) have more than enough adequate towers from cell phone providors. That's a large chunk of the population right there. Skype (or alike), free wireless internet across the globe, UMPC... that's the future. Or should be.
  9. I'd still rather they tapped into the unused radio frequencies for free internet. And if I read into this correctly, it doesn't seem that beneficial. But I suppose that depends on the cost.

  11. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) 77-85 seems like the low end. The median is probably about 83 wins +/- 5. They have the Rays in 4th in the East at 82-80. We are 9th in the AL. They say we'll have a .261 BA, .332 OBP, .433 SLG, 780 Runs Scored, 822 Runs Allowed I'll take that any day of the week.
  12. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) There is no other style than Lou's deep dish. All others are just imitators. Agreed, but I do like NY style. There are a few good NY style places in Chicago that I frequent.
  13. QUOTE(max power @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) I'd crap on her chest.
  14. Just played the demo for MLB The Show '08. This game might be pretty good.
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Uhh, the story said he was on medication and wasn't taking them for some time. That's beside the point, but I don't think you see that. Regardless, this is not the thread to point fingers.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 05:48 PM) That's a rather inappropriate Pat Robertson-like statement there. This is about a nut off his meds who had a lot of guns. I wonder why he was at Northern on a Thursday when he goes to school at Champaign. Someone has to be able to trace him. EDIT: Just saw Soxy comments. I'll edit out the argumentative remarks but that Pat Robertson comment remains. That's a rather inappropriate remark there too, if I might say so myself. The worst thing to do in situations like this is to break it down into a stereotype. Start thinking about a solution if you want to do something constructive.
  17. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) I was drunk once and tried to light a cigarette off the stove...singed my Eddie Munster pretty good...especially since I had long hair at the time. Didn't look right until I cut it. Yikes. I do that all the time. The key isn't to have the cigarette in your mouth when you do it. Singe the tip, rip it up to your face as fast as you can and suck in. Works like a charm. EDIT: You have to singe the entire tip. Like you do a cigar. I mean, you have to... Ah, f*** it. Why am I giving advice for something that's stupid to do?

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 14, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) It's made by Michel Gondry, who did Spotless Mind. Never know. I don't think the movie will be as simple as the trailer makes it. Hell no it won't. Michel Gondry is quite an inventive director.
  19. Sick. I know many people that go there and I know nothing about their status. First Tinley Park, now NIU, it's hard to not wonder what's next?

QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 09:12 AM) Finally seen Juno last night.Am I wierd for having the expectations of having pure silence out of all the movie goers? There was like a family of 15 that were there and most of the kids were under the age of 8 and they could give a s**t about Juno. They talked through the whole damn thing! And shouldnt there be like a popcorn fetching etiquette? Why do I have to listen to your fingers touch every god damn piece of popcorn in the bag until you decide that you you have picked a superior handful!? Depending on where you live, there are theatres to avoid that. They don't usually show mainstream movies, but Juno would be at one of these places. Anyone have any word on the independant movie theatre that was opening up in the loop? Maybe it's already open and I missed it?
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) Will Oldham / Bonnie Prince Billie / Superwolf rocks. My favorite song: I've been lost in his Ask For Forgiveness EP lately.

I've never, not once in my entire life, had a comfortable pair of jeans. I'm a corduroy and slacks man.
