  1. I'd love for the Sox to trade for Aybar now. 1 year stopgap until if/when Anderson is ready.
  2. I wonder what it would take to pry Lucroy from Milwaukee. I read the Brewers may try and shop him this offseason.
  3. FIRE SPARKS! just practicing for the regular season....
  4. Mets. This should be a really good World Series. If Royals win, I have relatives that are Royal fans, so I'll be happy for them. I want to like the Royals, but I just can't. They're full of punks. Ventura, Herrera, Hosmer, etc. The Mets team if full of likable players. Plus, I'll be rooting for Bartolo and Uribe and even David Wright to get rings.
  5. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 01:02 PM) I would much rather blow a load on Cespedes if the Mets let him walk. I agree. If they're going to shell out $100M, spend on this guy.
  6. good luck to him. Baseball can take a backseat for awhile.
  7. I have a feeling STL will pay up to bring him back.
  8. KC looks like they can win the whole damn thing.
  9. worse than the muppets, they are pre-empting the Flash!
  10. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) Clearly. Because he's been useless for the Mets. Mets were at least in the pennant race. If you wanted them to get rid of Anderson, etc. for a fantasy, so be it.
  11. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) So glad we didnt trade for Cespedes. Clearly hasnt impacted the Mets at all. that would have been a useless trade for the Sox.
  12. So does this mean Mike Olt would get a ring this year?
  13. I'm trying to decide who is a better matchup for the Cubs, if they get to NLCS. Mets have the pitching. Dodgers have the pitching, too, obviously. Mets seem to have better offense, though.
  14. Frustration, Disappointment, Anger. So really, more of the same.
  15. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Go Cubs Go is the song you would write if you were locked in a room for a year and forced to listen to Jimmy Buffett while watching Cub games. That Eddie Vedder song isn't any better. If you haven't heard it yet, you are lucky.
  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 02:37 PM) My rooting interest order would be: 1 Blue Jays 2 Pirates 3 Rangers 4 Royals 5 Astros/Angels/Twins 6 Mets 7 Dodgers 8 Yankees 9 Cardinals 10 Cubs Mine's close - 1 Blue Jays - especially for Buehrle 2 Pirates - I was 3 years old when they won it all 3 Rangers - never won it 4 Mets - Uribe! 5 Astros/Angels/Twins 6 Dodgers 7 Yankees 8 Cardinals 9 Royals 10 Cubs
  17. all those teams in the early '90s who were kinda good, probably contend for wild card, if it was around then. those teams in the early '00s who were also kinda good, might have had a chance to back in to the 2nd wild card spot. So there's that.
  18. I want abreu to get 30/100. It be nice for Q to get 10 wins, too.
  19. odd that they are 1-year deals. I thought broadcasting contracts were longer than that. then again, what do i know.
  20. I keep thinking that the Cubs would be a good trade partner this offseason. Sox has surplus of pitching (Beck, Danish, etc.) Cubs have surplus of infielders. Trade pitching to Cubs for Baez or Castro or even LaStella.
  21. i think he's gone too. Not too many of their players have any trade value. Quintana should bring back the best return.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 27, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) The White Sox are geniuses for acquiring Quintana but the Cubs are lucky they got Arrieta. The white sox are lucky with Quintana. Just like they were lucky to get Rodon and lucky that Sale turned into Chris Sale. when it comes to the Sox scouting and player development, they are more lucky that any of their drafted players turn into MLB caliber players. This is Kenny Williams and Buddy Bell we are talking about.
  23. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) They may complain....until they realize what our competitive lineup looks like. Exactly my point. Competitive should be in quotes.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) And just to add another angle besides conditioning, the Yankees are playing for something. There does need to be a certain level of integrity of the teams that are out of it. I'm not a fan of the September 40-man rules and shutting guys down, especially now that 5 of 15 teams make the postseason. There are so many more meaningful late season games than there used to be. Unless there's an injury going on, teams should be trying. Blue Jays might complain about the lineup that's trotted out for the Sox. "I thought they were supposed to field a competitive team?" they might say.
