QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 03:43 PM) I love Sale as much as the next poster, but there's no way he finishes top three in Cy voting. no way in hell. Not with the years Keuchel, Price and Archer are having.
-
NL - Arrietta. Kershaw and Greinke kind of cancel each other out in voting. If that makes any sense. 1. Arrietta 2. Greinke 3. Kershaw AL - 1. Price 2. Keuchel 3. Gray 4. Archer

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) Unless he can pull a 3rd pitch out of his ass, a good one at that, he doesn't look like a starter. He could probably live out of the bullpen successfully right now but once guys see 95-98 and his slider once it gets easier to hit the second time around. If he picked up a splitter or a change or even worked on a cutter he would be fine, but unless he gets another plus pitch he looks like a good set up guy, not a starter. I can see him at the back end of the bullpen, like a Kelvin Herrera type setup guy.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 01:13 PM) Montas, Micah Johnson and Avi are the 3 non-veterans that should absolutely be trade bait this offseason if they have value. What could they possibly get for Avi and Micah besides a fringe prospect? I really think Quintana is the guy to go, as much as I hate to say it.

How many of last off-seasons "big" moves would the Sox make
bjm676 replied to maxjusttyped's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Probably sign just Robertson and Cabrera. They needed a closer. Badly. I could see why they overspent. Cabrera has done everything they asked of him. They shouldn't regret signing him, I remember we were all excited on here when they got Shark, too. Nobody expected him to turn out like this. Semien and Phegley were expendable. LaRoche. Well, he's another story. This offseason will definitely be interesting, that's for sure. -
If the Sox arent in the top 10, how do you improve this offseason?
bjm676 replied to Dunt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
exercise option on Alexei. I don't think their are better options just yet. Resign Albers Only free agents i would go after - either Cespedes or Heyward. Trade for a catcher and third baseman. I could see Chris Beck, Tyler Danish, etc. being included in some kind of package. -
i think by now, they know what they have in Olt and Micah Johnson. Not many are positives. Might as well just play out the string. They need warm bodies in the lineup.

Who would you rather see get more PA's in 2016 for the Sox
bjm676 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If given the choice of those two, definitely Thompson. Garcia is quickly reaching Viciedo-type bust status. -

Montas working with less velocity, more movement
bjm676 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Montas may start the game Wed afternoon. Sale pushed to Thursday Dan HayesVerified account @CSNHayes Sep 20 #WhiteSox switched Weds from Chris Sale to TBA. If they get through Mon. DHer OK could be Frankie Montas. Would like to get Sale extra day. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) Talk about a team that has rolled over and played dead... The Tigers have seen 80 pitches through 8 innings of play. This isn't exactly a quality lineup the Tigers are putting out. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) Holy s*** Randy wolf is still in baseball? I would have guessed he's been gone for at least 5 years. Get ready for a Tom Milone/Bruce Chen-type outing. -

two soft tossing lefties on day!?! Game 1 prediction - this Ryan guy - 6IP, 4H, 2ER, 8K Game 2 prediction - Randy Wolf 7IP, 5H, 1ER, 7K. -
he will help soften the blow, if they do in fact trade Quintana.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) I'm probably the only one who thinks Anderson will be given a shot at winning the SS battle in ST if Alexei doesn't return (which I think he will). I'm hoping they pick up Alexei's option. They can't go into the winter with question marks at 3/4 of the infield.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 02:21 PM) Yea but how fast was the pitch? Avi looks good against the 88-90 mph guys too Garcia could have trouble in slow pitch softball.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) Mike Olt sucks at 1B
-
get rid of the following - Daniel Webb Avisail Garcia MIke Olt Tyler Flowers Micah Johnson None are MLB caliber players. Flame on...
-
it was hysterical to see. He had a pretty good windup and i think he hit 90 on the gun. That being said, I hope they pick up his option. Can't go into next year with 3 question marks in the infield. Anderson hopefully is ready in 2017.

glad to see saladino back. Would have wanted to see micah get a chance tonight, though.
-
odd that they don't play Detroit until June.
