FWIW..... Carter Bays and Craig Thomas — the creators of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER — have revealed for the very first time how they planned to wrap up the show’s ongoing mystery if it had been cancelled after just one season. “I don’t know if we ever consciously said this out loud, but we both kind of agreed, like, Ted meeting Victoria (Ashley Williams) happened at the end of Episode 12…” Carter recalled during a media set visit Wednesday night (01-15-13). “I think there was a feeling of ‘God forbid the show just gets yanked… It would have been Victoria.’” The character ended up appearing in just 16 episodes, while HIMYM went on to run for nine seasons. “Cut to somewhere Ashley Williams reading this, [thinking], ‘Motherf–ker — that would have been awesome!’” Thomas joked.

I mean, she had me believe she actually enjoyed sleeping with Zach Braff for pete's sake.....now THAT's acting......lol

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 10:20 AM) I started watching The Curse of Oak Island and it's really well done. That stuff has always fascinated me to begin with and I wrote a paper on pre-Columbian trans-Atlantic voyages in college so this was a no brainer for me to watch. But the show after that I mistakenly watched for a couple minutes because I meant to get to bed but couldn't stop watching. Appalachian Outlaws. It was surprisingly highly enjoyable and I can't wait for the next episode. I remember reading the same Readers Digest article the one brother read about the island and it always fascinated me as well. I caught a ad for the show a few weeks ago but I was assuming it was going to be a documentary on the island, history, etc. not so much a reality show. I agree that the announcer is beyond annoying as he tries to make every small thing sound like it could be a huge breakthrough. I have it set on the DVR just in case i miss it but then again...there isn't much on at 9pm sunday nights. **sidenote.....I DO believe that something of some value is buried there. will be interesting to see what if anything is down there.

  14. Wasn't quite sure where to go put this story...here is as good a place as any.... Robber's family upset customer shot robber...... adric white robbery The family members of a robbery suspect that held a store employee at gunpoint in Alabama are lashing out at the Good Samaritan who shot him and stopped the robbery. Adric White, 18, was shot five times after he allegedly tried to hold up a Family Dollar store in Mobile on Nov. 12. FOX10 spoke exclusively to both the unnamed Good Samaritan and the family members of White. They're livid that their son was shot while pointing a gun in someone's face. “If [the customer's] life was not in danger, if no one had a gun up to him, if no one pointed a gun at him - what gives him the right to think that it's okay to just shoot someone?” a relative, who wished to remain anonymous, told FOX10. “You should have just left the store and went wherever you had to go in your car or whatever.” But when the suspect pulled out a gun at about 5:30 p.m., the Good Samaritan did too. “He had the gun to his head. He had him on his knees,” said the Good Samaritan, who wished to remain anonymous. “I drew my gun on him and I said 'Hey don't move.' At that point he swung around and before he had a chance to aim the gun at me I fired. I didn’t want to shoot him.” The man shot White five times. He was taken to USA Medical Center, where he remains in police custody. The local news station had previously interviewed White's parents, but they called later demanding that the video not be aired. White was out of jail on bond after previously robbing The Original Oyster House at gunpoint just a little over a month before he robbed the Family Dollar. Accomplice Tavoris Moss, 19, was also arrested in the Family Dollar robbery. “[Criminals] tend to think that they are the only ones with guns," the Good Samaritan told the station. "I’ve been legally carrying my firearm for a little over four years now, and thank God I’ve never had to use it until, of course, last night. It just goes to show it's good to have a concealed carry. You never know when your going to need it.” Police said that the Good Samaritan who opened fire was justified and broke no laws.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 12:14 AM) Last week marked 2 years since I graduated college. I still haven't gotten a full-time job. But then again, things work a lot different in the broadcasting field. I was in that field for 10 years after college (graduated SIU in '91). getting out of it was the best move I could have made......jobs are scarce and getting scarcer......and the market is flooded with people looking to get any job. Still...it was an awesome 10 years bouncing around Southern Illinois....St. Louis.....Nashville......
  16. For anyone with some time to kill.....SI on Dixie Carter
  17. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 06:31 PM) That's the thing- I had no idea that those were going on under her shirt. I don't recall really noticing her before the Thor roles, and I think she really only wore ridiculous looking sweaters or coats in both movies. The dorky brunette is what caught my attention. Then, after I got back from the movie yesterday, I went to her wikipedia entry just to see. And I saw. Just check out her terrible show on CBS...Two Broke Girls. She has her 'two girls' on display(usually quite prominently)

  22. I didn't see the play in real time just instant replay. To me it appeared that Middlebrooks dove for the ball, missed it, and when he did that instead of trying to get up he laid down and picked his legs up even higher to interfere with the runner. To me, I think he would have been better off just getting on hands and knees like he was trying to get up for the ball and seeing if the runner ran into him or had to go around him etc. Again...i didn't see it in real time (and have no interest in who wins) but I think it was the correct call.....props to ump(s) who got it right.

I never watched Modern Family during it's initial run on ABC (other than a time or two) but now that it's on USA I've managed to watch it for a week or two (roughly 12 episodes or so) and I got to ask......does this show EVER get funny???? Oh my Lord.....I have never seen a show so over-rated like this one.
