  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Sounds pretty pathetic to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> explain how its pathetic. i want an explanation because your bias hatred towards the red sox is far worse than my bias love.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) Wheres RNW? "Roger Clemens is the best pitcher in the entire league, now" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> these jokes are funny because every single time they are made i don't have the same opinion of the lame ass joke that is being made. good try though, your a real dave chapelle.
  3. no crack or any of the other childish remarks hold any backing - this was simply made public to appease manny and his agent.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:07 AM) Looks like Mark Shapiro is sticking his hands too far down the Cookie Jar. Theo Epstein should really look into acquiring Austin Kearns now, although besides Arroyo, it's hard to find a match on who'd they trade besides prospects. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> clement makes sense, no?
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) His true colors?....R&W.... Let me just say you and WSJ are my favorite posters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your opinion means nothing to me.
  6. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Just stop it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> unless im writing a school paper, i rarely, if ever, use capital letters. its just what i do. again though, theres no need to explain myself, ssh has truely shown his true colors this afternoon.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Is there some means by which I can start taking bets on how long it will be before a thread is closed? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it will be closed, but it shouldnt be, unless of course the moderator who does so is closing it for the time being while the trade is still being discussed.
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) Yes sir. By the way, the Red Sox are favorites for the A.L. East! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> youre like a two year old, always have to get the last word in. think what you want, just stop talking. so the coco crisp trade...
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) I can't find a quote because the search engine doesn't work. I'm sure you know this though. I could care less though. You have shown your homerism enough times that I don't need any proof. COCO CRISP IS THE GREATEST CENTER FIELDER EVER!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> more words being put in my mouth. coco crisp is not the greatest centerfielder ever, nor did i ever hint at that. i do however believe he is a top centerfielder which i've said all along. please, stop talking and do the impossible task of finding that quote. until then, can it.
  10. im not going to let ssh ruin this thread. this non-trade is what this should be all about, not comparing shamelessly scott podsednik and coco crisp. as of right now there is no trade. we can expect something to be worked out, but it will be interesting to see which team decides to just move on.
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) And you are not a White Sox fan. Everyone here has known your true favorite team since your crybaby s***-fit when the White Sox swept Boston. Jesus, I don't post about the White Sox at SOSH. I could care less if you post here but leave the homerism at the door. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> stop talking until you've done the following: please find the quote where i "spouted about how good damon was in cf." there is no such quote. i have not liked damon since the 2004 offseason, and i grew a near hatred for the man last season. its funny to think that you'd be so familiar with my feelings of damon last season when you joined on october fourth, my birthday, the day the regular season officially ended.
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) He's thrown a lot of insults out in the last few pages. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> none towards rock. his only fault is the fact that he'd argue anything and everything just for the sake of doing so. i like rock, infact. its ssh whose been outspoken about his feelings towards me all along who ive countered with true statements regarding his intelligence or lack thereof.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) This is your first quote Then you made this statement Now you say this Who really needs the IQ test there buddy. Im done with you, go back to SOSH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i've been adament about how i felt towards coco crisp from the moment i was asked. i think he's a top of the line centerfielder, whether that be in the lead off spot where the red sox would place him, or some place else. i need no such iq test, and dont say your done with me, because you'll argue with anybody anytime just for the sake of doing so. for the record, the sky is blue. *awaits rocks response that the sky is not blue*
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) As a side note, you are a homer. Get off your high horse. Last season, you were spouting about how good Damon was in CF. Now that Damon is gone and Crisp is rumored to be heading to Boston, he's the greatest CF ever. Give it a rest. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> more words put into my mouth. you are absolutely pathetic. please find the quote where i "spouted about how good damon was in cf." there is no such quote. i have not liked damon since the 2004 offseason, and i grew a near hatred for the man last season. its funny to think that you'd be so familiar with my feelings of damon last season when you joined on october fourth, my birthday, the day the regular season officially ended. you are an idiot, you are a joke, you dont belong on this board. end of story.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) Whoa whoa whoa. Dont go calling us dumb because you changed your argument. I quoted you above saying that Crisp would be a perennial all star at the lead off position. Now are are saying that you never said that. That is effectively disproving you with your own statements. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> whoa whoa whoa. dont put words in my mouth. i never called you dumb. infact, i enjoy arguing with you when your not trying to argue for the sake of arguing which you are doing here. all ive said all along is that i believe coco crisp would be a top major league centerfielder. i never stated top three, i never stated top five, i never stated anything. i just happen to believe he's an excellent kid whose performed extremely well before even entering his prime and will continue to grow into a top centerfielder in this game for whomever team he plays for.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) IF Crisp plays good defense in CF he would probably be a top CF'er in the MLB. His numbers from LF sure aren't special though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> this is not a sentence.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Using redandwhite's own quotes against him is fun! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you, nor rock, have successfully used a quote of mine against me. as a side note: people should be forced to take iq tests before being eligible to post.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Oh but what about when you said that??? You said all star lead off man. Doesnt that mean he would be leading off? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ah, that must have been after i read the globe and herald articles that angered me which said that he'd be pencilled into the lead off position, when i've been suggesting all along he bat second.
  19. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Zone rating and range factor along with fielding percentage are not the be all end all stats just so you know... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> great post, again. you'd think that was the case talking to the leader of the peanut gallery in ssh.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) well defensively he isnt even top ten in the AL. So no he wouldnt be. Offensively, based on this year, he would be about 4th for Cf'ers. if he stayed in LF in cleveland, defensively he would be top three, offensively, no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> now this is where we can start arguing. if a player is an above average defensive centerfielder, and ranks fourth among major league centerfielders offensively in all of the major leagues, that doesn't qualify him as being a "top centerfielder?" i mean, with all due respect (not to ssh, but you) many people here have been calling joe crede a "top third baseman" and he was statistically one of the worst?
  21. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) It truly wouldn't be a major improvement over damons arm. Crisp's arm is always regarded as weak... piss poor... below average. I think crisp would do just fine in center however. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i never said it would be a major improvement over damons arm. that is ssh being the clown he is. i respect your opinion, and in this case, agree with it. i also like the new name, qwert.
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) He has lost any credibility in this argument. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> there is no argument at hand here, pal.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Maybe this is why I thought you were talking about defensive stats. oh and he has been garbage in the lead off spot over the last three years. .271 .312 .369 .681 Not exactly perennial all stars resume. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the only thing i mentioned with the words 'leading off' and 'coco crisp' in it was that he should bat second with loretta leading off. next...
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) Offensively or defensively, clarify please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> both. usually when somebody says a top insert position here they mean that that player would be tops at his position in any and all forms. do you agree or disagree that coco crisp will be a top centerfielder or if he stays in cleveland, a top left fielder, in the years to come?
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:35 PM) I guess this is what made me think that you meant defensive ability. Or when you used translated stats to say he is top of the line. using translated stats usually means comparing positions. But I should have just assumed you meant whatever point is easier to make for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> damons name was brought up? again, stop overanalyzing and arguing for the sake of arguing. jesus h. christ, your going to have a heart attack going down the road your heading.
