  1. That call could have gone either way. It's just so typical of these WCC officials to favor the Zags. Gonzaga will be losing in round two come tournament time, atleast in my bracket.
  2. Wow... Rest In Peace, Kirby Puckett.
  3. My bracket: Alford versus Indiana in the finals... ah thank you.
  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) The Marlins actually traded him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, they didn't.
  5. He's a great kid, I hope to god he's alright.
  6. JUPITER, Fla. (AP) _ Florida Marlins second baseman Pokey Reese has had no contact with the team since Wednesday, missing a workout and a game, and club officials said they're concerned about him.< General manager Larry Beinfest said Reese gave no indication that he was taking time off, and the team has no idea where he might be.< “We tried to track him down starting yesterday,” Beinfest said Friday. “He was playing well. He looked healthy. We were happy with him, and he appeared to be happy. ... We want to make sure he's OK.”< Reese missed a workout Thursday. The team had him in the lineup for Friday's game against Baltimore, but he again failed to show.< Beinfest said the team tried to check on Reese at the apartment where he has been staying, but there was no answer at the door. Reese's agent told the team he hadn't heard from his client, Beinfest said.< Reese, a two-time Gold Glove winner, spent all of last season on the disabled list with the Seattle Mariners following shoulder surgery. He signed with the Marlins in December.< Teammate Lenny Harris said he left a message for Reese on his voice mail.< “That's kind of weird for him to just take off and nobody know like that,” Harris said.< Beinfest said the Marlins haven't contacted Reese's family. They did notify Major League Baseball of Reese's absence.< “I'm not upset with him,” manager Joe Girardi said. “I just want to hear his voice that he's OK.”< The 32-year-old Reese, who grew up in a depressed neighborhood in Columbia, S.C., has been forced to cope with a succession of family tragedies. His fiancee died in a car crash in 1993. Three years later, the mother of his son, Naquawan, died while delivering a child fathered by another man.< Naquawan went to live with his maternal grandmother and great-grandmother. Both women were murdered on Christmas Eve 1997.< “Baseball helps me free my mind from the past,” Reese said shortly after reporting to spring training with the Marlins last week.<
  7. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) OSU is putting it together <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What do you mean? They should have lost to a poor Northwestern team last night (just over a week until selection sunday)
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) Well atleast we all know who won't win their pool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kentucky will be lucky to get past the first round if they even make the tournament at all, but people underestimate Boston College. Watch him win it by picking Boston College in the four, and nobody else doing so..
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) has anyone read about the franchise mode of mlb 2k6. im sold, it looks really awesome. look at this. Franchise Mode Preview - 2k6 watch the videos that are linked here as well... it looks solid. EDIT: although the guy who wrote the article who thought he was a genius for getting miguel cabrera is really, really lame. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This game and any baseball game outside of NCAA this year is no more than a rental. If i want to play a franchise, i'll open up my Out of the Park. Bernie and Damon for Cabrera and prospects? Thats insanity. No thanks.
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) btw, i am absolutely disgusted that you post at this board with that avatar, even after the WHITE sox won it all LAST year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't care what you think.
  11. Jason and his two brothers, Brian and Kevin were also drafted in that same draft. They were the first three sibling combination to be drafted in the same draft. Regardless of if they end up making it in this game or not, i'm pretty proud of what they have been able to accomplish.
  12. The newly acquired Jason Bulger will reportedly compete for a bullpen spot with the Angels. Traded to the Angels from the Diamondbacks for Alberto Callaspo Tuesday, Bulger will be going against Kevin Gregg and Esteban Yan for the final bullpen spot. The Angels would have to eat some salary to cut Yan loose, so it's likely Bulger will begin the year at Triple-A. *** Jason is my cousin, i'm excited to see him hopefully get a shot with soxtalk Jason's other team.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Did you make your sig? Pretty damn sweet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually this is a goldmember special from last year when they were the second to last team to lose there first game after starting 20-0. He made it for my trip to South Bend where they actually lost there first game. I've always used it at eagleaction and decided to use it here.
  14. Boston College beats up on Wake Forest at home and is continuing there road to the number two slot in the ACC standings heading into the tournament, hopefully in route to a Duke rematch in the finals. If this Eagles team is a two seed, watch out.
  15. if george already knows whose going to win it all, why should we even play the season?
  16. This is the best piece i've seen done on steroids. Very informative, very truthful. Pretty darn good. http://www.steroidlaw.com/images/steroids_0002.wmv
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Yep, it's been on before, but I keep missing it. I thought others might want to check it out as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh, I kind of wish no one saw this. The American general public is getting brainwashed on the steroid topic left and right. I hope people take what is stated in this piece with a grain of salt, unless of course you like storing away false information and passing it on to others so that more and more people continue to believe these lies.
  18. By the way, I've seen this a few times now. This isn't premiering tonight...
  19. This report on steroids is almost as idiotic as MTV's True Life. The fact of the matter is, there is a big difference between use and abuse, and this asshole fell into the latter. As for what he's spot injecting, its not your basic Testosterone Enanthate, Propianate, Cypionate, etc. it is straight synthol, which makes him even more dumb. In bold is what happened to Valentino.
  20. PH, i'm interested in hearing your opinion of my Eagles. Picked up another dominant win tonight, the 21st of the season over the Miami Hurricanes.
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) I thought Red Sox fans hate A-Rod? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I missed this one. A-Rod? He goes by Slappy out east.
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) Yep (see the Maggs' incident). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well those comments were entirely necessary, in my opinion these were not.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) Actually, I don't. Ozzie has always spoke his mind, it's not like he just started after we won the series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 'these remarks' is what i said. that doesn't mean specific remarks about this years first ever Baseball Classic. It means remarks like this, where he would call somebody out for no apparent reason.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) Considering his comments had to do with arod's involvement in the wbc it might have been hard for him to make. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know what I meant.
