  1. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Brady also had monster games with average receivers and not a great O-Line or RB situation. Alexander deserves Player of the Year however MVP should go to Brady. Yeah but look at Brady's team record.... when he was the only one playing well they were losing it wasnt until they got to the easy part of the schedule and the defense showed up they started winning games..... Which in my eyes shows the defense of the Pats is more valuable than Brady.
  2. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) hey, he literally didn't have half the season Steve Smith did, since he didn't play for half the season. Well yeah but he didnt play half as good as Steve Smith did is what my point was.... Steve Smith for a lot of the season was a MVP candidate.... Bruschi the games I saw didnt play that well....let alone good enough to share this award with Steve Smith.
  3. Yeah if he was in the draft Deng would of been prob the number 1 overall pick if not than the 2nd.
  4. If you guys dont want to listen to his rumors thats fine..... but why waste a whole thread trying to discredit him.... you dont think he is a good source but that doesnt mean others feel the same way..... Here is a thought if you dont consider it a legitimate source than dont respond in the thread...
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) But you don't even think it's a top 25 game? Maybe top25 since it was in the Rose Bowl.... but not a top 5 game for sure.
  6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 06:10 AM) Missed FG's does not mean defensive battle all the time. In fact, in that game it meant horrible kickers. well the Texas kicker missed a couple of FG's too that would of changed the game... and I know one for sure was from a pretty short distance.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 05:13 AM) No chance. That game should have ended many times if not for crappy kicking. Also PSU/FSU doesn't have those amazing memroble plays. Maybe it's just me... Well your a Texas fan so a course PSU/FSU isnt going to be as good for you....
  8. if he gets traded to Philly than possibly the 2 best SS's playing right now would both be at 3B.....
  9. Idonno the Notre Dame/USC game was better...
  10. do you even remember why he had those 9 runs allowed in the begining.... because Ozzie mismanaged the bullpen and hung him out to dry..... idonno how you even count that against him. Vizcaino started off pretty slow but in the 2nd half he pitched much better and was an innings eater....
  11. we won and the team played great defense.... but man I hope they work on that offense for next game... if Dee didnt come up big tonight we would of been helpless on offense.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 03:13 AM) Somebody in another thread, maybe this one, suggested that if we were able to land Tejada, that even if the pitching fell off, say Garland went back to his 04 form, that we could still repeat in 06. I totally disagree with that. If the pitching isn't as good or close to what it was last year in 06, it won't matter if we add Tejada. We won't be repeating. Ask Red Sox fans what a dominant offense with average pitching did for them in 2005. Even if Garland falls back to his 12 win form..... we will have 5 starters... in the years b4 we could always chalk every 5th game as a loss because we never had a major league 5th starter just a bunch of AAA pitchers. Pitching will be the key but in 06 if we get Tejada we would also be able to win with offense and put less stress on our pitchers.
  13. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 03:20 AM) Yeah, I guess you are right, but it seemed like he couldn't hold anything, and someone would have to bail him out. So I think his ERA would have been higher, and more proportionate to his WHIP if the pitchers after him didn't get his guys out. You just described Marte... Vizcaino really got out of his own problems and was a very important member of our bullpen last season that is under-apreciated...
  14. lol so bad.... idonno Hockey isnt really a women's sport anyways I bet US Olympic Women's soccer team would destroy any highschool boys team.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) Hopefully the mancrush over Tom Brady ends when the Patriots' streak ends this year. Just be happy he isnt making an argument for Kyle Orton to be MVP.
  16. The more I see Augistine the more I dislike him as a player.... last season he had it easy with 3 great guards running the show.... this season :puke . Thank god Dee Brown is on fire today
  17. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 02:34 AM) Isn't it amazing such a poor team won 99 games? How is it a poor team because someplayers werent great....... reason we won were because Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, Contreras, B-Mac, Cotts, Hermy, Jenks, Politte, Konerko, Podsenick, Dye, Iguchi, Pieryznski..... and Widger
  18. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 02:29 AM) I would not class Frank Thomas, Carl Everett, Orlando Hernandez, Geoff Bloom, Timo Perez, Damaso Marte, Willie Harris and Luis Vizcaino as 'ass and trash'. I'm surpised this @#$% comes from you because your other posts are almost always well thought out. Your Winshare post put the new team 0.76 wins, not even one game, above the 'ass and trash' team. I also fear Rowand may prove to have been the heart of that team. Well ass and trash is a bit harsh but... Frank Thomas really didnt play much at all, Everett sucks Thome is a big upgrade, El Duque really was dissapointing besides one relief appearance in the playoffs, same story with Blum sucked besides that 1 hit, Timo blows period, Marte was the weakest link and worse than his era indicated, Willie wasnt even on the major league team a lot of the season..... Vizcaino might hurt losing he was damn good in the 2nd half if I remember right.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Steve Smith and Tedy Bruschi have shared the NFL's Comeback player of the Year award. Bruschi doesnt deserve the award at all...... what he came back from was tough and everything but he didnt have half the season Steve Smith did.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:48 AM) I don't think you're getting what I'm saying. First of all, we never would've had the pitching we had last year in 02, 03 and 04 and still been able to have the same offense. So that's a moot point. Second, I'm not saying anything is wrong with upgrading the offense. The point is that no matter what we do offensively, this team is still built around pitching. This team will go as far in 06 as Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, Vazquez, possibly Contreras and the bullpen take us. We could add Tejada and Pujols for that matter, if the pitching isn't there, or god forbid somebody gets hurt, we won't be repeating in 06. This is as close to fact as it gets. But what exactly is your point? If we trade Contreras for Tejada we still have good pitching 1-5 in the rotation and our offense would be one of the best in the majors as well. The offense alone would be able to win games for us which is something they couldnt do last season.
  21. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) read the Meaning of Ichiro. You will realize what I am saying. The Yankees did lose to one of the Japan teams in 2004 and one of the other Japan teams beat the All Stars in 2004. Ok they loss one game in a meaningless game... if something was actually on the line they would of dominated them.
  22. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 07:27 AM) I realize the Bears offense was much worse and the Bears defense had injuries but its hard to get the 04 beatdown in Soldier Field out of the head. I'm obviously not a Bears fan but I'm stunned how confident/cocky Bear fans that I know are about this team. It seems Bear fans think they will shut down Alexander with ease and steamroll their way through the NFC playoffs. Well that defense was minus Mike Brown, Tillman, Urlacher, and Ogunleye not 2 mention even when healthy it was maybe a top 10 defense while the one we have now is prob the best in the NFL. I dont think we will shutdown Alexander easy but I think we can beat any team in the NFC especially with Grossman giving us an actual passing game. A course we could very easily lose our first game and be out... but I think we make some noise. Indy is obviously the favorite over us but they arent great enough that I wouldnt watch. I think we can beat them if Smith and Rivera play a smart game...A course id rather play anyone else including the Pats rather than play Indy.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) I am not saying Matt Franco is better than any Sox hitter except Konerko however you aren't giving Japan the credit they deserve. They are a AAAA team thats all the credit they deserve.... they would maybe be on par with KC and im hesitant saying that.
  24. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Players from Japan are better at the fundamentals and could probably beat a team like the Yankees who aren't very fundamentally sound. If you guys really think the Sox would into Japan and crush them you are high. You aren't giving Japan enough credit. Wow everything you post
  25. I chose the Bears because im a homer.
