  1. I don't see how you take him out as long as he is dominating.... if pitch count too high can always skip next start.
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 27, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Then he's just not cut out for the White Sox. I was going to say we finally got our replacement to El Duque
  3. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 23, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) The Spurs have really had OKC's number over the last couple of seasons, granted it's regular season games but I think the Spurs advance to the Finals. If both Miami and San Antonio meet in the Finals, it'll be athleticism vs fundamentals basketball, it'll be fun to watch. Pop>>>>Spo/Riley Be interesting if Heat don't win it all this year if they make changes in off-season... I know Riley has always said he won't come back to coaching but you'd think it has to be a possibility.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Not really. You're trying to be smooth and a tough guy but you really aren't. If the Thunder's top 4 were locked up for the next 5 years then you'd have a point. There would be nothing to discuss. They're more than likely going to be penalized for drafting too well. That's what I meant. But go ahead and try to emphasize something that's not there. Yes, I'm the one trying to be a tough guy on a message board......
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2012 -> 08:30 AM) Um, no. That's just not the same as saying that teams that shoot 60% or better from the field end up winning a majority of their games. Especially when Harden is going to command a hefty raise after next year. Nice try, though. Maybe resigning Harden isn't realistic but the statement you made is just as common sense as anything Badger ever said. But, I guess since it's you being called out it isn't the same thing.....
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2012 -> 11:30 PM) If the Thunder can keep their quartet of KD, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka together long-term, they are just going to terrorize the western conference for a while. Was it you or Steve who accused Badger of stating the obvious too much in his posts... Because this would certainly fall under that category.
  7. Sadly the main boss fights don't get much harder in Nightmare or Hell... but the bluemobs can be ridiculous not hard to kill but impossible without dying.
  8. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 16, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) That was awesome. How does he still play especially for a team that thinks it has playoff aspirations. Lawrie should have gotten hammered that was bush. The ump really did strike that night. That call was terrible I would be ok if Lawrie pushed him to the ground..... if you aren't going to call the game right don't be an ump.
  9. The boss fight in act2 is against king Joffrey. I was a little disappointed with final boss fight.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Stop trolling. Stop believing in what ESPN tells you. They are the favorite but this first month and a half has shown they aren't that much better.
  11. I don't know i make it to 1-2 games a year and most of the times its cheap ass tickets... but never had a problem if i wait an inning or 2 before trying to go down.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 12, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) They've been enforcing it for years, you have to show the ticket before getting to the concourse. Yeah they always made us show our ticket but didn't stop us in the past.
  13. Whenever I bought upper deck tickets in past we always went to lower deck after an inning or two without problems... are they enforcing that now?
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ May 11, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) Good news. Bad news, Awake axed. Not shocked but still. I wonder if they knew it was happening ahead of time, seemingly they have the show on track to reach a conclusion in the next couple of episodes. I don't know if it would have made a difference but I think it would have been better off without the whole conspiracy thing at least being a big play until a few seasons in.
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 11, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Essentially, yes. For next season they're WAY over the cap. It'd make no sense to cut Boozer loose. For 2013/2014 they could conceivably have SOME space if they let everyone but Rose, Deng and Noah go, but that would include Gibson as a restricted FA which wouldn't be smart. 2014/2015 could be interesting since Deng's contract would be up, Boozer would be in his last year if not amnestied yet, and nearly everyone else is on a short-term deal. That'd be your next real chance to have a major roster shakeup, though Gibson is a huge wildcard there and you'd have to let both Deng and Boozer go. I think given by that time we have the guy from Europe coming over and hopefully a lottery pick from Charlotte probably would be a good idea to get a couple of new guys around Rose unless this team starts winning championships.
  16. He is young and having some fun I don't see the problem. If he shows up next season out of shape that'd be a different story.
  17. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 10, 2012 -> 06:13 AM) De Aza is quietly having a decent year. Maybe the Sox finally have that true leadoff center fielder. He isn't hitting the same avg. as last year but he already has as many walks as last season in 30 less ab's which makes me think he is the real deal. Now if only we could get Viciedo and Beckham going.
  18. There are no sure things when it comes to prospects which kind of just reinstates you have no clue what your talking about. Is there a chance he doesn't make the majors or maxes out as a utility play, sure but you are putting a very low ceiling on someone just because you don't like KW and like trashing the system.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2012 -> 03:05 AM) At best, Saladino would be around 175-200 if you polled MLB GM's and scouting directors, maybe maybe 150 if you really pushed it. You have no idea what your talking about do you?
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) Well I should clarify then. YOu don't have to believe in God to be a good, moral person. I'm just pointing out instances to be devil's advocate like about my friend the doctor who gives 100 bills to the homeless a few times a month and adopted 3 kids from poor countries, etc. I pointed out he drops the word "God" every four sentences or so and wanted your opinions on that. You can still be a good person and not a believer in God and the afterlife. To those of you who have kids, though and do not believe: Are you not saddened at the fact your belief system indicates that you will never see loved ones again once you pass away? In heaven? What is the purpose for to have a great family then if you never get to see them following death? I don't understand the point of your doctor story, I'm sure someone knows a person who isn't religious and is just as giving. Hell, my dad is an Atheist and he took early retirement so he could focus 100% on his charity to make schools for kids in the middle east... is he not as good a person because he doesn't believe in God?
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) 1.) Digital media and the fact newspapers have cut so much of their staff and size of newspapers (did you read the Chicago Tribune when it had a good sports section of 12 pages or more a day? Wow) and stopped covering things people care about like religion and business as well as sports that it has killed that industry. Who wants to read a f***ing newspaper? It's just the bare bones crap. 2.) What does this mean? Seriously. How can a question (something where I'm seeking knowledge) be a "judgmental post?" As far as you being mad about cheating on the wife, I don't see how you turned that into me suggesting nobody but a believer does not cheat. I'm saying if you don't believe in God and heaven/hell, why not just run amok in ALL FACETS of life. Gambling, debauchery, taking tons of risky chances in life. Your first point is completely off, the reason for Newspapers declining is the internet.... I'd imagine the baby boomer generation is still getting it delivered to them but after that we were born with the internet. Your 2nd point is you make it sound like the only reason to be a good person is if you are a Christian. How do you expect people not to take offense to that? Why is it not possible for someone to be a nonbeliever as well as be a good person, is it required that if you don't believe in a heaven/hell you must be a sinner?
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 9, 2012 -> 05:09 PM) Viciedo should not see the field against RH pitching right now. Best lineup against righties would be: Fukudome Beckham Dunn Konerko De Aza Rios AJ Ramirez Lillibridge You want to bench a guy against the vast majority of starters in the league?
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) That's like saying the Big 10 reporters didn't have a right to ask Bobby Knight why he threw a chair onto the floor...maybe LESS of a right since the player or coach's action in this case didn't affect the course of action in the game, but Maybe the better analogy is someone like Tiger Woods who is constantly being brought to task for cursing or throwing clubs. You can guarantee he is ALWAYS asked those questions after a round and usually has a similar response to Wood. Doesn't mean the reporters aren't going to mention it. And there's definitely something of a double standard at play, compared to someone like Zambrano or Milton Bradley. And then sometimes, there are players like Bradley that the media knows are more emotionally fragile and that asking a question like that can be enough to create a meltdown/emotional scene and lead to headlines...where the reporter is intentionally baiting the athlete and trying to create a story. It's definitely a fine line between reporting the story and making/being the story, see Mariotti or Cowley, for example. I never once said they don't have the right to ask, I just said if you ask that question what kind of response are you expecting. The guy was clearly pissed off and bringing it up isn't going to make him happy and want to talk to you about it especially just following the incident. Now, if a reporter asked the Cubs manager about Kerry Wood's temper tantrum and he got upset about it would be a different story.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ May 9, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) Yes. Wood is stupid for thinking a question about throwing his glove in the stands is out of line. And it is equally stupid to ask that question and expect any other reaction.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Wood owes that reporter an apology. Of course he has to ask about the glove throwing, and Wood should know better. Is this post serious?
