  1. It's pretty simple to everyone else in the world watching the series the bhawks are outplaying Phoenix. Yes, the Blackhawks have been sloppy at times and power play been weak but like I said earlier it comes down to goaltenders and theirs is playing a ton better.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) IMO, the Hawks are extremely lucky to be down 3-2 with how they have played through 5 games. Phoenix is THOROUGHLY outplaying us. Their forecheck is much more aggressive, they are far more physical, they win all the loose pucks, they win all the board battles, and for the most part, they end up with the advantage on any one-on-one plays. They're players are so skilled at the fundamentals, especially defensively. They stick-lift and poke-check every second of every game. I wish the Hawks played as fundamentally sound and as good as the Coyotes did. I'll agree the bhawks have been sloppy at times but you switch goalies and this series is over. The problem goes deeper than Crawford but the talent on our roster can overcome sloppy play if we had a legit goaltender
  3. what happened to the wsox winner thread from yesterday?
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 08:54 AM) "Breaking up the team" might have been a reasonable response to how things went down last year... Except for the fact that Theo has left them in an absolute mess of a financial situation, and their ownership group won't tolerate a "multi year rebuilding" process. With their payroll flexibility they could accelerate the process with acquiring the right F/A's.
  5. I can understand him blocking the kid from transferring within the conference but the other schools are just out of spite and for that I lose all respect for the man.
  6. Honestly, the Red Sox just need to break that team up if those comments have been that big of a deal, bunch of guys who haven't matured past elementary school.
  7. Beckham 2 hits and one of his outs was a terrible call by the ump on a pitch not close to the plate, doesn't mean anything yet but hopefully this helps get him going.
  8. It seems this season AJ finds a spot against a batter and just constantly goes to it over and over....like the variety is seemingly lacking.
  9. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) Not feeling Ventura's pitching changes today. 1. Let Sale start the 6th. He already had thrown 100 pitches. If Jones starts that inning, then probably Tiggs don't score a run that inning 2. 8th inning. I feel that Stewart should have stayed in there. He did get Tiggs out 1-2-3 in the 8th. But if you want to bring in Ohman, then it has to be for one batter (lefty)..LOOGY..lol...and then bring in Reed. That is my opinion. Could have probably kept this game 2-1! Disagree on your first statement thought the decision was fine given the batter was Prince..... I do agree he probably should of left Stewart in but he probably is still feeling out his team, I'm sure Robin will have less and less confidence in Ohman as the season progresses.
  10. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 03:48 PM) I agree that he is doing a great job. But a few of his moves are headscratchers. Cannot see why he took out Stewart for a LOOGY in a two run game. No matter who the manager is he will make some moves the general fanbase wont agree with and call headscratchers.....I don't even think Ohman belongs on the major league roster.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Brian Matusz should retire. That whole big 3 pitching prospects they had all kind of fizzled out
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 09:34 AM) It's Jackie Robinson Day in MLB, where we celebrate the first black player, by everyone looking the same by wearing the same number. #irony What a dumb thing to say, look at every roster in MLB not one is consisted of all Caucasians. Yes, the number of African Americans playing MLB is down but before Jackie Robinson Latin players weren't allowed to play either... their numbers are same but because of Mr. Robinson hardly does everyone look the same regardless the number on their back.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) If you think Andrus is better than Alexei defensively, go home and enjoy your kool-aid Any non-whitesox fan will tell you Andrus is better defensively than Alexei. I don't understand how I'm the one drinking kool-aid when your the one being a homer.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) Alexei's range is legit insane. No other ss in baseball gets to that ball, not to mention the flip to becks, unreal. Did you not watch the SS we faced in the first 3 games of the season?
  15. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 07:00 AM) This offense is very worrisome. The same group seems to be picking right up where they left off last year. Rios, Dunn, Beckham and Morel, are still huge holes in the lineup. Let's hope either they figure it out, or that Robin and K. W. will be proactive, and make changes before the team finds itself in a hole, from which they can't crawl out. Are you just looking at stats or actually watching games? I know they haven't been producing but Rios and Dunn both look much better at the plate and Morel while struggling has still been able to have some productive outs after game 1. The main concern is Beckham, he looks like he is being patient at the plate but his swing is just way off.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) Unfortunately, we have to go through 456 of their lineup. I'd say it's fortunate we miss that 3 guy.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:51 AM) I think in the long run the Bulls will benefit from life without Derrick so much of this year. They have been forced to find other guys who can close games and hit key shots. They don't have to sit around and wait for Rose to steal the show anymore. The exclusive focus of this team for the next two weeks needs to be health and minutes. Work Rose and Hamilton up to playoff shape, while taking it easy on guys like Deng who have played a ton this year, and Watson who has gotten a lot more work than was expected. Get guys Butler, Lucas, and Scal out there against the crapass schedule they have coming up. I think next season if Rose wants to keep progressing he needs to learn how to move without the ball more, part of the problem is whenever he plays guys stand around waiting for him to make something happen and the other part is he doesn't do much without the ball in his hand.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) If you are within range of AM 670, you can listen for free, otherwise it costs $20/year for an internet audio subscription. There is no way to watch online for free. Sure there are, always sites that pop up with streams to the games just a matter of finding them. Don't give answers that aren't true.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) This team is better than last years team. Unless Korver suddenly forgets to shoot in the playoffs again vs the Heat.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:33 AM) Here are Derrick Rose's point totals vs the Heat over the last two years. 2 34 25 23 20 21 28 27 26 34 Of course, in those games, he's only shot 37%, but he got to the stripe like a mad donkey slayer. What do we take from this? Obviously last night was an aberration, but the Heat with their Big 2.5 certainly do a better job on Rose than any other team in the NBA. I don't know the stats but it seems like Golden State has the best success vs Drose, maybe it's just a couple of the games I watched vs them but neither were good.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:32 AM) The thing is, we could get out of the second round if we just admitted that was the case and adjusted...I think we are still better than most teams even when Rose isn't in the game. But you know they will force Rose out there and he will try and be the mvp and actually hurt us... The Bulls could advance to the conference finals without Rose given how they have played this season and the talent of teams in the East, I don't see anyway whatsoever they don't make it there. Rose looked 100% healthy yesterday just he is rusty which is to be expected. Between the regular season and the first round I expect him to be his old self before we have to worry about the Heat.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) We don't know that and it's probably dead wrong. He clearly meant that in his opinion Dan Hudson was more than enough for Edwin Jackson and the fact our gm included another good pitching prospect is laughable. Overall I'm a KW fan but he has made a few major screwups these past few seasons.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) How can Paul Konerko be this good? For 3 seasons now the guy is like a human instructional video on how to be a great hitter at the highest level. This guy does NOT get enough respect. He should be a perennial all star not some guy who has to win the fan vote. What a f***ing stud. I'll admit in the past I've never been as big a Konerko fan as most fans... he was too streaky for me and I couldn't stand him during one of his cold stretches. But, to start this season and the last couple he has actually become a better hitter and it's just awesome to watch.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) Nash isnt going to make Wade and Lebron less flaky. The Heat could go 72-10 if they actually started playing 100 percent of the time and stopped the drama. But they are too busy with their pregame punching contests and trying to alley oop every pass. Honestly I think Lebron and Wade kind of hurt each other, when Wade is missing time Lebron looks like a completely different player.
  25. I feel like Rose was almost too much of a hog ball in the latter half of the 4th quarter in Sunday's game, so used to having to doing it all but has to trust his teamates given what they have done without him.
