  1. Anyone have an idea on how much Grant Balfour would command money wise, he could be the RH setup man we are lacking.
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 02:25 PM) Well, the dome problem wont help keep the Vikings in Minny It would be a shame though because as far as I know the Vikings have a very solid fan base. If the NFL wanted to move a team Jacksonville should be number 1 on its list.
  3. Give me Guerrier over Crain anyday, we already have the flamethrows and Guerrier will be a solid arm that can fill almost any role. Id be ecstatic if we finished our off-season by signing him.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 06:20 AM) I enjoyed it last night. Maybe it is because I could relate to it lately but thought it was solid. This season has been up and down but tons better than last season. If Zooey is the mother, people will be pissed and they are probably the same people who want to know who the mother is already. How else should they introduce get? In the series finale? It just doesnt seem to fit because earlier the show said his future wife was the student's room mate that he was dating. If Zooey was with The Captain I don't think she'd be in a s***ty apartment.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) And Sharapova breaks off the engagement.... Thank god, I was a little worried.

    Peavy

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 06:51 PM) Who called him a Cy Young contender? I said if he has 1 bad start out of every 11, he's going to be a Cy Young contender. That's like me saying that if I could hit a baseball 500 feet I'd be in the majors. Joe Borchard can hit a baseball 500 feet and isnt in the majors
  7. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Because pure point guard's are usually better than scoring point guards. Rose's defense drops him down that list, pure and simple. He improves that, then you can put him on the same level as CP3 IMO. Right but the point is Rose is a good PG in distributing but he also is probably the most dynamic scorer in that position as well. His defense is lacking for sure, but I think under a heavy defensive minded coach he will improve.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) And? Illinois is not going to go into NY, NC, Texas or California and pull the top kid out. We pull the top kids out of Illinois, and you're going to do very well. More NBAers have been born in Illinois than any other state to gain some perspective. Illinois has no real in state competition for the top kids. They just have to worry about the national powers for the kids they want. That's a good position to be in, even if you do lose out on the Derrick Roses or Anthony Davises. Deron Williams is from Texas, probably the best player in recent Illinois history. On the current team Mike Davis is from somewhere on the west coast I think and he is very important to the team's success as well. Can't solely rely on instate guys only.
  9. Id say the top 3 are Williams, Rose, and Paul. You can make a very solid case for any of them.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) No. There are too many elite PGs for that to be true. Besides lacking on 3 point range, Westbrook is having a better season. I do think in terms of scoring Rose is far and ahead the best PG in the league though. If he could up his defense he'd prob be the best without question.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) Wing Devin Langford has apparently committed to Illinois. I have a feeling this will be either a great get (as he blows up and become a really really good player) or just a complete bust that results in him transferring. For some reason, I just don't see any middle ground that he becomes a good role player. He is interesting in that despite having no local ties he reached out to go to Illinois before he was even on their radar. Also I think he is like 6'6 or something and plays PG.
  12. If we can get Dlee for around 7 million I'd be down for that no problem. Let Viciedo/Morel battle it out for 3B in spring training and sign a bp arm and the team is set.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 07:10 PM) A second team in Chicago would not succeed unless they were good off the bat. I'd go to a few games if they were cheaper than the Bulls just to see NBA action, but they'd never scratch the Bulls in terms of my fandom, Chris Paul or not. No but if they were good off the bat the younger generation would gravitate towards them. Plus with the Hornets being in the West it wouldnt like they'd be competing directly against the Bulls as well.
  14. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) No doubt. This was the weakest the East has ever been... I mean, South Carolina winning the East should tell you everything. If there is no Florida, Tennessee, or Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, you know it's a down year. Really unless its Florida in the SEC Championship game it's a down year...
  15. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) I'm pretty sure Va tech and Nevada are both better teams than Iowa. Iowa lost to Minnesota and Northwestern. Sorry, but they just aren't very good this year. I agree with Va Tech being better but dont think Nevada is. I would say Boise/Iowa prob be a coinflip.
  16. The O-Line and our safeties playing 20 yards too deep might blow this game for us.
  17. What a horrible penalty, i hate when nothing players make such huge penalties.
  18. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) What happened in that Giants game? I wasnt able to watch but what I heard is the Giants didnt need to blitz that game.
  19. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) This group of stiffs and planted actors, with the occasional real chef or 2, is an abomination to the show. I guess they just gave up on real chef talent, and brought in more people to keep the entertainment value up. I mean really, Sabrina? that person wouldn't have made it past opening week in the old HK. Yeah, honestly this has been by far the lowest quality of chefs they have had on the show and not one is the least bit likeable. If you are going to have s***ty chefs at least make them good looking...
  20. I don't know if anyone else watches but has there ever been a more unlikeable cast on Hell's Kitchen?? I honestly don't think any one of them left is a particularly good chef and none are charismatic in the least.
  21. Pretty much Democrats have Mad Men, Dexter, Community and Breaking Bad. Republicans have Modern Family, HIMYM, Big Bang, Lie to Me, and Two and a Half Men. Think the democrats have a better lineup.
  22. Except when he called the Rangers out on those ridiculous flashing lights crap.... that was pretty lame.
  23. According to yahoo rumor has it Bulls are sending Johnson to the Bobcats, cant think of who'd they get in return besides Henderson. Everyone else would either be 2 valuable or 2 crappy.
  24. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 12:34 AM) Haahhaha, but half of the time when I play poker in casinos, I wear a hoodie. I always wear it to keep the lights out of my eyes and have a little shade on my face. :-p I always wear the corniest sweater I can find in my closet, I tried wearing sunglasses but it just wasnt working for me felt too weird.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Weren't Danks and Masset guys he found in AFL? Not that Nick worked out for us, but he has some big value. Danks was a first round draft pick that had nothing to disprove that from his minor league career at that point, he was part of the Rangers DVD(Diamond, Volquez, Danks) that they thought would be the rotation of the future.
