Seriously though this is just another example of the huge double standard in this country. If this was some dude having sex with some 14 year old girl we would all be ready to string the guy up. It's sad in a way that because it's a woman we can make jokes about it.

I think you guys are missing the big picture here. If they trade is made then Ortiz is going into the bullpen. There is just no room for him in the rotation anyway (especially after Shoey comes back.) Judging his work out of the pen for Aniehiem I would do this deal on the condition that the Angels pay 3/4 of his salery the rest of the way and throw in one of those Molina boys

I agree if AND ONLY if this means that we still have the money to resign Garcia... Lets face it Maggs is gone. If we can get a cheaper power hitting outfielder that we would have for 3 years. Like I said I only do this deal if we can still afford the 10 Million per year it will take to sign Garcia... Besides his numbers would enivitably be better in a hitters park like ours...

Problem is I don't agree with anything I said last night. We needed Freddie Garcia more then Olivo and Ben Davis will be a suitiable replacment. I just just drunk and as soon as I read Miguel Olivo I just got all angry and started spouting off nonsense. I'm glad the thread was able to die so quietly though...

The more I read about him the more I like about this Ben Davis guy. He will never be as good a hitter as MO will be after he breaks out but I can see .250+ from him and that is fine. I still wish we had MO and his speed but Davis is better then anything we have in our Minors :puke

The more I've been reading about Davis the better I feel about him. He might not have the offensive potential to do why MO can do right now but I don't think .250+ down the stretch wouldn't be too far off. It seems to me this kid got a raw deal (Think Willie Harris and Aaron Rowand during the Jerry Manuel Era). Don't get me wrong if we can sign another catcher great but I think that this guy might have the potential to turn things around. Plus he's only our #9 hitter so as long as he gives us solid defense thats all that really counts.

I feel really bad about making that thread... I overreacted and I apoligize to you all for posting that. You are all right we are better with Garcia then Rauch and I am more then willing to eat crow over it. I just don't want that thread to keep building up posts. It's a stupid thread and it deserves to go extint. Again I apoligize for posting in anger without really thinking about the big picture of the deal...

There's a difference you know between being a bandwagon fan and being a fan thats smart enough to know that Garcia's ERA was a product of where he plays and that Miguel Olivo was one of the best young catchers in baseball. This deal wouldn't of totally crushed my spirits if it didn't mean that we were seeing our future go down the toliet. Garcia will leave at the end of the year, Olivo will go on to have a solid year and become an allstar, and this will go down in the big picture as being worse then the Todd Ritche trade and maybe even the one that costs KW his job. I didn't mind Garcia at all. To trade Olivo is something I can't fathom....

I just cannot fathom why so many of you are ignoring this... Catcher is not an easy position to fill. We don't even have another decent catcher in our minor league system. To just give away a future allstar is absolutely ridiculous. I am sorry about my comments about Garcia but to give Olivo for him IMO is nuts. Don't you dare call me a Bandwagon fan either. I have been a die hard sox fan since age 12. This just has disaster written all over it. I hope i'm wrong about this I really do....

What the f*** was he thinking. It's bad enough you give away one of the best young catching talents in baseball but to f***ing give it up for a fly ball pitcher who can't keep the ball down who's era would inevitably sky rocket to over 5 in a few starts really pisses me off. I thought we were finally going to win it all this year and now all I can see is finishing behind Detriot. This doesn't help us it kills us and now the Mariners have a shot to take it all. This is so awful....

While we are dreaming my outfield would be: LF- C. Lee CF- AROW RF- Carl Crawford... That is an outfield that could play Ozzie's kind of ball.... Maggs while he may be good is too expensive to keep and i'd much rather see him go then morgage the teams future by tying up most of the teams salary with him...

Livian Hernandez.... We would have him 2 years and he's exactly the type of pitcher we need... an innings eater...

I said all along that Diaz had the tools to get it done. All he needed was a fair chance and it looks like he got it this time. Lets just hope he makes this a regular occurance...

I don't think people realize that the brewers are not just some walk over team this year. They are really a solid ballclub. Will they make the playoffs? About as good a chance of walking outside and getting struck by lightining... Could they finish at .500 or above? I could actually see that as a possibility...

You know what I agree with you totally. Which is why I find it so outrageous that a guy who knows our minor league so well would just call one of our best prospects a flop after not even getting a fair shot. I'm hoping people will see this thread and realize that you can't just count a guy out after 2 bad starts and just decide he sucks and always will.

These threads will all look pretty silly in a week... Believe it or not the season is NOT OVER.... We have plenty of season left... We have an easy second half... The twins still have to face teams like the Yankees... EVERYONE JUST CHILL OUT!
