  1. Hm. Not a big fan of it, Really high on Seager as he is a perennial lock for 20+homers (could see him getting close to 30). Not too sure of Lucroy tho, I hear all good things about him, but haven't seem him produce and haven't looked into him, so meh. I like Richards as well. Why are you going after all these catchers?
  2. AS noted earlier in the thread, Orioles looking to land Fowler: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/02/orio...est-rumors.html
  3. I'm in the same boat. After the Frazier trade I started getting interested in baseball/chisox again for the first time in over 4 years or so (even brought me back to these boards ). I was/still am expecting some more upgrades to fix the glaring hole(s). Obviously the OF hole is a must. SS/DH would be nice too, but I don't think they as big as problems as that OF spot. There are so many options out there that it is frustrating for me. Fowler, Jackson, various trade routes, all of the other OF's we have seen go before us. Desmond sitting out there. I will say, regardless of anything, it has been a great offseason tho for the Chisox. Frazier trade was fantastic, Latos signing was great, Lawrie trade was solid. I will give them the benefit of the doubt for a few more weeks to finish the masterpiece off .
  4. The rockies moves are befuddling. I have no idea what they are trying to do.
  5. Okay, got my answer Aj Styles vs. Y2J at Fastlane. (pending thursdays y2j approval )
  6. 5-way was nicely done. Y2J / AJ Styles angle is solid. AJ Styles isn't on the Fastlane ppv? He should be as they ramp up to WM....
  7. Why? Seager is nice and Gallo is solid. Nice closers now, loaded. Best Hitters available
  8. Your pitching staff has to be one of the best in the league. your hitting leaves much to be desired, but that's not to say it's bad. You have some quality players, it's just overall more average then what I'd want. Overall, a team that I'd expect to compete. Posey gives you an advantage in C over all teams. Solid infield depth (like Seager) and while your OF isn't strong, it has depth. I dont like Kemp, but I like Yelich, Incirante, Piscotty, and Pence. But I like them all as more OF3 / 4 type players.
  9. Yeah, It would be ideal to pick a summer chisox baseball game, perhaps a 7pm start. Get together around noon or so for a game and a monster tailgate session. Just keep playing and eating until gametime . I am down +1.
  10. I'd be down for some SoxTalk softball now that I live in Chicago (if its close by).
  11. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/02/athl...sean-nolin.html "Davis is not very highly regarded with the glove, though defensive metrics have been mixed. He actually rated as a plus performer in left in 2014, but dipped into the negative territory last year." "Looking at the Milwaukee side of the deal, the 20-year-old Nottingham looks like the jewel. He went to Oakland from the Astros — then the home of current Brewers GM David Stearns — as the key piece of last summer’s Scott Kazmir deal. He’s still a ways off, having only reached the High-A level, but does represent a theoretical long-term replacement for star catcher Jonathan Lucroy — who has, of course, been mentioned as a trade candidate quite often this winter."
  12. That would be really trippy. 0_0
  13. The players the Brewers got are decent. It's a reasonable trade for both sides. Shame the Sox didn't get in, but Davis isn't a great piece IMO. Great power, but lousy .avg and nothing special defensively.
  14. Oh my God, the podcast was literally the best thing ever. I'd blast them during a game and my family would be like WTF AWESOME. I think it was Sox N Roll.
  15. :notworthy Indeed, that is the story I was interested in. I remember some of the name mentions (southsiders.net) from those earlier days. It is amazing how so many new members keep showing up. Forums are getting somewhat outdated nowadays, but SoxTalk stays strong.
  16. Hm, some good conversation here, but still somewhat unclear on the soxtalk origin. I see it extended from WSI being a... negative place ... at the time.
  17. Haha, it was crazy! I remember watching every single game and always having the SoxTalk game thread open to discuss every little detail. I learned a lot about baseball from those game threads when I was just 16 or so years old. I was living in Florida at the time, so getting a chance to talk to other White Sox fans about the playoffs that year was certainly irreplaceable. All the talk about the media bias, crazy Ozzie Guillen, the weird nicknames we had for players were great. The amount of activity on the board was very high too. Playing pick to click was fun. Great stuff.
  18. I'm interested to hear about the story of Soxtalk.com. Why was it created? How did this place get so popular. There are people with over 100,000 posts on this forum. I have been here for over 10 years. This place keeps activity even when the White Sox are not a good team. I know other teams have forums similar to this, but this sure seems to be a very good one relative to many others. Whenever I think of creating a forum I always wonder how I will attract people. How did soxtalk start? Just curious. I can't even recall how I ended up here.
  19. Yo friend from long ago.

  20. Also, when I was a young kid 10 years ago or so, I first saw your user name and looked it up in the dictionary. thanks
