  1. It would not take a big contract at all to sign koskie 4-5 million max. Why is it the downside of his career? Because he has one bad year? He is still putting up solid numbers outside of a batting average. Also his defense is just a good if not better than crede. I do agree though that getting a new third baseman should not the first thing on the agenda.
  2. How many years have you been saying that you think we will improve next year? Yes in the fifth spot he may win more games than 12 a year. But look for his era to be right arounf 5.
  3. How does he have more value than what we all think? He is a below average third baseman (offensively) and this year there are several pretty damn good third baseman on free agency. Also look for hillenbrand to be on the trading block.
  4. He is not the only one, the whole team can't and that is a damn shame.
  5. 3rd base is the only position we have a legitimate chance at upgrading on the free agent market. We need to do it while we can in my opinion. We really need koskie i mean come on in his worst year he still blows cruddy out of the water.
  6. That may have made me believe just a tiny bit that ''ozzie ball'' works. It is a damn shame though that he doesn't even know what ''ozzie ball'' is.
  7. Bulls will win around 32-36 and i don't see the bears winning more than four so i would have to go with the bulls.
  8. Welcome to soxtalk.
  9. You expect to get anything at all for him by then? The little value he has now will be entirely disminished by the all-star break.
  10. If they do trade him they will get nothing more that a decent to solid relief pitcher. Right now he just doesn't have much trade value.
  11. With an obp of .250. If he gets lucky.
  12. Koskie has been just as good defensively. Bet let's not upgrade it would just make sense.
  13. I don't care if he hit .290 next year. He does not walk enough which is the reason his obp is so terrible.
  14. D.j. curse most likely gonna go into effect. :headshake
  15. I agree if that game was within a run or two either way he would have been until at least the seventh probally the eighth.
  16. If he has failed throughout the minors what makes anyone think he will be even decent in the minors. That does not happen very often at all. Imo he is barely a 4a pitcher, but i respect your opinion on grilli.
  17. Most likely won't leave st. louis i have heard he is really liked there. If he does he will be around 2-2.5 million because of his excellent defense.

I have been saying that ever since he went on his torred pace of his. It happens so many times and he just seems to be a perfect canidate for it to happen to.
  19. Pitchers can have control problems in high school and college and still do very well just like grilli. Why can people not tell that he is only a 4a pitcher at best? If you cannot throw strikes while playing professional baseball you will get rocked which grilli has numerous times. Even if he has not gotten rocked he is always one pitch away from it. He had 86 pitches today and only 43 were for strikes. Five walks and he hit a batter, might as well go sign russ ortiz this off-season. Not exactly the type of pitcher you want in the a.l. let alone any where. Rusch would not do well in the a.l. at all. If he gets lucky 4.50 era.
  20. Grilli's career minor league stats. http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profiles/p794.asp
  21. Point is he was highly regarded at one point and has not lived up to those expectations. I am saying even before his surgery if he would have succeeded in the minors much more than he did. He was pretty damn s***ty in the minors outside of two seasons.
  22. I agree, just saying this year he has been doing really well against them
  23. Not a bust? He was the fourth overall pick in 1997. I know you will say he has had surgeries but so what so have alot of other pitchers and they went on to have successful careers. That is all i have to say.
  24. Gload is hitting lefties in the .450 range. Must not be a disadvantage for him.
  25. Is there a reason to disagree with what i said? If so tell me what it is.
