  1. That rotation was solid.
  2. He is not a free agent and crede is not nearly as valuable as figgins so they would laugh. Hard. Mcpherson will be starting at third for the angels for years to come so no need for crede at all.
  3. No need to start this in another thread i have my opinion and you have yours.
  4. Do you think that there is no money at all to spend?
  5. If trade either one of them it can fill more hole than one. Trading garland will not get even close to doing that.
  6. Do you not think a of either konerko or lee is possible? Seems like we could either get alot of talent for either one of them or we could dump alot of salary and still get some good talent in return.
  7. I did say that but he evens it out with his 7 inning and 2 earned runs or his 8 innings of 1 earned run. If we have a fifth starter that wins posts a 4.80-5 era and wins us 10-12 we will makes the playoffs. Which jason f***ing grilli will not do.
  8. There is something you don't understand but i don't know what.
  9. Yes it does because he was getting to the fact that we have had no bigger holes than pitching.
  10. He asked what holes have they had in previous years. Meaning the last several.
  11. Not really. You just assume that grilli can become the 5th starter after being bad in the minors. It just does not happen that a pitcher sucks in the minors and is decent in the majors. There is no reason to believe girlli will not get rocked up here and you are yet to give a reason why you think he can do a good job as the fifth starter. What i do not understand no one else agrees with you, why don't you understand it is a bad idea and move on with it?
  12. I bet this thread will be huge by the time the day is over.
  13. Tell me how many minor leaguers have had terrible minor league careers then went on to have a succesful careers in the majors.
  14. Actually they don't need protection for bonds since they are second in the national league in runs scored. But i feel that if maggs is healthy they will make a big push for him in the off-season.
  15. If a fifth start went 16 and 18 for you you are in the playoffs without a question.
  16. Omg i am not going on just his 12 major league starts i am going on his minor league career also. He is not very good in the minor leauges what honestly makes you think he would have an era around 5-5.25 in the majors? Once more his control is terrible, he is basically russ ortiz just not as good. Garland will make 2.5 to 3 million next year that is it. Where do you keep coming up with the 5th starter will cost 4 million bulls***?
  17. Grilli would have a 6 era through out the course of a full season. If he gets lucky.
  18. I would also like to know the answer to that.
  19. St.Louis. But have you looked at the season all five of the cardinal starters have had this year? Highest era is 4.55 and the lowest is 3.46 which is pretty damn good. Florida- Pavano has been excellent this year. Becket has not been awful his era is 4.00 Willis has pitched pretty well just not lcuky enough to get the offensive support. Burnett's 3.74 era would be the best on our team. So they would also be better. Houston- Clemens, miller, and oswalt that is all i have to say. San diego- Peavy's era is 2.25,, david wells's era is 3.65, and brian lawrence's era is 3.92 all better than any of out starting pitchers .Every other team we have mentioned also is better at least this season. Watch a healthy brown pitch compared to a healthy garland pitch there is no comparison. They are nothing alike, garland fastball is straight the majority of the time. His sinker does not sink and he hangs a s*** load of breaking balls. Kevin brown rarely has any of those happen to him
  20. His obp stands at a nice .378.
  21. I did not hate him at all. I just know unless if can start to hit right handers decent he will be nothing more than a backup for the majority of his career. I mean he hits a mere .200 against righter handers.that will nto do. He may have a cannon for an arm but if he cannot throw anyone out it doesn't matter. It's not like teams are scared to run on him. In his time here i would say he was medicore nothing more. Also the only players i do not like are cruddy and borchard for obvious reasons and garland.
  22. Apparently the sox did not think to highly of how he handled pitchers and his defense. Also he has this slight problem. He cannot hit right handers at all and that is what you face more than 80% of the time.
  23. I am just saying that we will have a fifth starter in making more than 1 million next year. Because one of them will be signed and garland will be pushed back into the 5th spot in the rotation.
  24. He does not have the control to be effective enough as a starter in the majors. It is as simple as that. He has the potention to walk7,8,9 guys any given game. That is how bad he is control wise. He is not good enough to get over all of his walks he dishes out. More times than not players who that are bad in the minors or just not very good never pan out to be anything in the majors. Their have also been many others like crede who are great in the minors but don't do much in the majors. They would be caled 4a players.
