  1. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) Pirates @ Twins is free game of the day on mlb.tv Thanks
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Yeah, because Alvarez doesn't have a 2016 contract, LaRoche does. Well he wouldn't be nontendered and would make about 8 million in arb I would guess. So yeah Laroche still quite a bit more.
  3. Laroche for Alvarez makes to much sense. for us, but still.
  4. I agree Rockies take that deal. I was gonna mention the same before.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Castro has been through 3 or 4 managers, has had a couple of off field incidents. Maybe he grows up and becomes something. I wouldn't give up anything to find out. Levine says teams want him to bulk up, become a power hitter and play 3B. I thought that would make for a good flier for the sox to take on then I realized how expensive he was.
  6. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) Looks like the Cubs are getting close to a deal, was watching Kap and Haugh earlier and they were talking about one of the Cubs Minor leaguers, one of their big international signings was pulled from a game and supposedly his teammates were seen giving hugs and tweeting goodbyes. If there's one thing I hate is being overshadowed by the media kissing the Cubs butts no matter what the trade will be, you watch, after its done they'll be the popular pick for WS That was last night and so far nothing ever came from it.
  7. Nah the plan for them was always to add 2 starters. Latos qualifies as that secondary one.
  8. Thompson is hurt. Leury is unfortunately likely. I'd rather see Kottaras or Micah if he's ready.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:35 AM) Why would the Sox want AJ back? Well that's the easiest question ever. He's a lefty, big time of upgrade of a bat at a position that needs one who is already familiar with a good portion of our pitching staff at the cost of nothing. Oh yeah and he'll grab the same amount of much needed local headlines as getting a cargo or Upton at 1/50th of the price. We're still on the verge of being in it, not definitely in it. We're not gonna empty the farm this year for a top bat. Need to start looking at guys who won't cost us anything or well stand pat. AJ applies there.
  10. Tyler Flowers and Robinson Leyer for AJ.
  11. I never get the complaints about the hall of fame voting process. At the end of the day, it's BY FAR the most prestigious and selective hall of fame. The voting has kept it that way. Complain all you want but it's worked.
  12. They really need to send out down Schwarber and find him a new position.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) And what happens if they win their next 4 games after today and then E. Johnson starts (cause Samardzija's traded) and gives up 8 runs? This team was built to win this year, and they're playing their best ball of the season. Might as well see how it goes. Sort of surprised to see this from you to be honest. But I agree. Particularly if the return is the same for Kazmir.
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) Just looked up Santiago's stats and he consistently outperforms his FIP. Is there an explanation there? I understand how Buehrle or Chris Young does it, but what's different about Santiago? Probably holds runners extremely well.
  15. FIP does not apply to Hector Santiago.
  16. Unless Eli Lilly wants to pull a Coca-Cola, Indianapolis is not coming near the olympics. It's meant for world class cities.
  17. Sounds like Papelbon to the Nats is close.
  18. Should be an easy yes as of now. But we'll see. has anyone spotted EJ in Boston? He's got to be there right?
