  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 11:20 PM) Finally a suggestion from an intelligent Boston Blogger. Red Sox Would Receive: SP Jake Peavy White Sox Would Receive: P Anthony Ranaudo, 3B Garin Cecchini, C Christian Vazquez. http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/7/25/45...-for-jake-peavy Meh
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:28 AM) Hey at least that's only a 40 percent k rate! Obviously Rienzo has been ridiculous as of late but I'm curious if there was a reason he got off to such a bad start this season? Back on the roids.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 04:06 AM) Of course. Last week when discussing his top prospect list he was giving praise to Erik Johnson despite him not being in his top 50. He really liked the Courtney Hawkins draft pick at the time. Same with Andrew Mitchell this year. He was also on the radio yesterday saying Peavy should garner a bigger return than Garza. People don't like Law because he is a snarky prick most of the time, and thus they think he hates their team. It's not just White Sox fans. It's pretty obnoxious actually. Okay, then we can all find common ground here and say he is awful at his job with regards to the White Sox.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:47 AM) He's admitted he was wrong on Sale multiple times. It's the nature of the business. Yeah, you think he would have done it after the point of ridiculousness after Sale's historic rise. I think anyone objective would have.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:32 AM) Are you guys serious? It doesn't matter if Law actually hates the Sox, he's an objective analyst. He's not going out of his way to bash the Sox. I'm usually on the media isnt out to get the Sox wagon but Law through the years is to much but with Kenny no longer GM maybe he will rank Chris Sale in his top 50 under 25
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 02:54 AM) Now I like to hear that. And Law hates the Sox lol. Yeah that's what I was thinking.
  7. Keith Law on the score said the Sox should definitely get a much better haul for Peavy than the Cubs got for Garza. EDIT: Meant ESPN 1000, not the Score.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 02:43 AM) Where do you see twitter blowing up? Who is tweeting anything? Peavy is getting 4+ mentions a minute on Twitter. It's just fans. Nothing substantial.
  9. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 01:41 AM) Talking on the score about peavy. Anyone care to summarize what's being said on 670 for us out of towners? http://betaplayer.radio.com/player/670-the-score
  10. I know he's terrible in most every aspect of the game, and he's old...and expensive, but Alfonso Soriano is still a .790 OPS player over the past four years. To pay 25 million or whatever on his contract and get nothing in return in the matter of prospects is just ridiculous.
  11. Rangers beat writer: Gerry Fraley ‏@gfraley 3h Rangers have multiple scouts at ChiSox game today. Alex ``One Speed'' Rios being watched, and White Sox pushing Adam Dunn, too. Mod, fix the title please. Or don't. I don't really care.
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Now this is strange: Peter Gammons ‏@pgammo 1h Keep hearing White Sox need pitching for Peavy, as 5 of their 6 best prospects are position players. They may be, but they are nowhere near ML ready. And 3 of our MLB starters are young and going to be here awhile. Danks, too.
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) The Cardinals appear unlikely to make a significant trade, according to Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. General manager John Mozeliak won't part with top prospects Michael Wacha, Carlos Martinez, Oscar Taveras or Kolten Wong unless a "major" upgrade at shortstop or a high-end starting pitcher becomes available. per mlbtraderumors Well we have those so this report isn't saying too much.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:45 PM) Because it is always nice to see a team's free-spending ways be rendered ineffective. Every year, their window get closer and closer to being shut. Too bad the alternative is the Indians
  15. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) He's in the JR loyalty belt. Why haven't the fire Manto conversations came about yet? Manto doesn't have a lot to work with but his three most important projects have all been so much better under him than the horrible horrible Walker. That said I dont think anyone will care if he goes.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:38 PM) He probably doesnt...but in the end he may not be managing this team beyond this year. Let's hope so.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) Just for applause...now that's re-dick. And a sign that a gm liked what he saw so he just pulled the trigger... Yeah. Oh im on mobile I though he sent.him out just for applause but apparently not.
  18. Eh he's still right. We should hope someone takes Danks.
  19. Just got a text from my source to expect huge news in the next hour or so. Said to expect multiple White Sox players moved for an intriguing package that would shock everyone around the league. Oh yeah and I made that all up.
  20. Danks for Middlebrooks? I'll get my car ready to drive John to the airport.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:47 AM) Stoney and Hawk hinting that White Sox and Rangers possibly making a deal? Rios
  22. Danks put up a sub 3.50 ERA once. At best he is paid market value and no reason for us to take the 15 million per year risk to find out if he's even that.
