  1. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) Going to be Coop managing last two games. Is that confirmed? Damn, was hoping for Omar. Figured it couldn't upset Coop since he just signed a long deal.
  2. The sad thing is we can still compete next year. Detroit is the favorite, and they get rid of Ordonez and Guillen so they may only get better. No one else scares me at all though. We're basically in the same situation we have been the last half decade, with a new manager. I'm pessimistic about being optimistic.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) I can't see Harold anywhere else. I like Harold, but it sounds like we'll be getting a younger guy in at manager. We need a veteran bench coach.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 06:18 AM) One would assume Joe is joking. more than likely but it still eouldnt be surprising.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 ->a 05:16 AM) for real? Per his twitter
  6. Marlins unveiled their new logo today. Sucks for Ozzie that he will have to wear this:
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:30 AM) Not for one second did Hawk say that this was the wrong move. Don't really find that surprising. He's the biggest sox fan through and through...
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:00 AM) http://ozzie.mlblogs.com/2011/09/27/time-to-move-on/ Ozzie Farewell. I believe you have to do that to "trade" him. Same thing with Pinella.
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 02:34 AM) If Boston loses and Tampa Wins today, it's over. Tampa gets the wild card spot. And if Tampa gets in, I don't see how they're not suddenly the favorite. They'll have the most complete pitching of all the AL teams and will have been playing significant games for the last week plus.... except the yankees get 7 home games vs. Them
  10. I don't even like ozzie as a person, and I'm sure many here don't. We can be happy about this.
  11. I know it's a meaningless game, but what kind of organization lets someone resign and then still manage?
  12. Why the f*** are we letting him manage tonight, anyways?
  13. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 02:13 AM) They lose the next two games... you blame someone else for Kenny's mistakes. Not that Kenny should not be blamed...but come on. Those last two games won't be indicative of anything.
  14. According to multiple sources, the Sox and Florida Marlins are in the final stages of completing a deal that would send the never-boring Guillen to South Beach, ending his eight-year stay with the club he grew up white as a player and helped guide to a World Series in 2005 as a second-year manager.
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) They gone. I'm almost starting to believe Mizzou will be joining them. I'm thinking it's maybe 40% at this point. It could probably be higher I think you took him a bit too literally. Of course 11-1 gets a BCS bowl, but after beating Western Michigan by 3 it's hard to expect 11-1. Well, yeah, just playing hypotheticals.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 06:25 AM) Illinois has to beat Wisconsin for a BCS game. I think they likely go to Champs Sports and the loser of the CCG may get a BCS bid. Not really. If they lose to Wisconsin and beat everyone else, that's an 11-1 season. May very well get a BCS bid, and would go over another 2 loss Big Ten team (looking at Nebraska).
  17. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) What would be the "Ozzie problem" to which you refer? It really has to be explained to you?
  18. Not really our minor leaguer but I remember falling in love with Luis Terrero after he hit 5 pretty quick HRs for us, including some bombs. And Gordon Beckham...2010-2019 player of the decade...right Sports Illustrated (edit: sorry, meant MLB Network).
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) The Ari stuff was solid, though the line that he had enough cash for 5 lifetimes annoyed me because why are you working those hours if you have that? They have always had that kind of money; that's been clear since episode one. Ari just loves his work. Hope he gets his own spin-off though. It's certainly looking like it. Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about the finale was Vince getting married. At least everyone ended up happy.
