  1. Funny to see this get so much national play. Front page of ESPN.com, a top story on SportsCenter, just about every baseball writer out there voicing their opinion. Yet our fanbase barely cares. It's in one ear out the other with Ozzie these days. I'll say this, his best attribute is keeping the attention on himself. Should have brought it up over a losing streak.
  2. We are a World Series caliber team with a big lefty bat.
  3. Anyone else remember how we nearly traded Konerko for Greg Miller and Edwin Jackson
  4. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I have to disagree. If this trade isn't essential in getting Dunn, then it was awful. I'm really not that sure how much better Jackson is than Hudson now, let alone over the next 6 very cheap years. If we keep Jackson and get Dunn, we have a World Series built team. Overpay, probably, but it's hard to define anything like that as awful.
  5. Edwin Jackson is one of the Soxtalk's biggest mancrushes in history. Funny to see this deal so hated, but understandable.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) I also wouldn't give up Mitchell and Viciedo, Mitchell and Flowers or Flowers and Mitchell EITHER. You get Dunn and keep Jackson, you have a team built for a run at the Series. As I said, I would leave out Viciedo, but I would include anyone else.
  7. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) Speak for yourself. No way that I give up both Flowers and Viciedo for Dunn. I didn't include Viciedo in that. Just talking about current farm players. I would give anyone.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Here is what I don't get. If this were really the case... why take the risk of swinging independent trades? Why not do a three party deal all at once? Aren't "3 way trades" technically all separate independent of one another, at least officially? Sox could very know well know what they are doing.
  9. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) But I believe the Score reported the Dbacks said there is definitely NOT a trade involving Jackson for Dunn??? I would give the entire farm system for Dunn if we don't have to include Jackson. I think most would.
  10. Who do the Nats have in terms of starting pitching we could take on? Anyway we could keep both Jackson and Dunn, because we still obviously need a starter.
  11. Filming goes through tomorrow from my understanding.
  12. Padres won at 82-80. Believe that is the worst.
  13. WarCraft, not the MMO s***, is far and away Blizzard's best series. Though I doubt we ever see WarCraft 4.
  14. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/more...t.hated.teams2/ 1919 White Sox checking in at number...19. Kind of funny. Never really thought of them as hated, especially these days. It's probably the most "celebrated", in terms of lore, thing about our franchise.
  15. 1. Rios 2. Alexei 3. Dunn 4. Konerko 5. Quentin 6. AJ 7. Beckham 8. Omar/Tank 9. Pierre
  16. Uh, no. It's what happens when games are on WCIU. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 03:10 AM) Wow only a 12 page game thread. That's what happens when you win a clean game -- Just Win Baby stops all naysaying in its tracks fast.
  17. Probably doesn't deserve it's own thread.
  18. "Without me, without Boozer, they're a .500 ball club. And with the guys that they added, if they add me, I think we'll be 30 better" Bulls to win 71 games.
  19. Frasor's a huge Sox fan. If he's traded, he better remember his roots.
  20. Wow. In his last start for the Twins he gave up 11 hits, 4 for extra bases, in just 6 innings yet still registered a quality start. Gonna need more of that magic now.
  21. This game is dead. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) Ozzie might as well get tossed now
  22. He did, but they were teeing off on him. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) Didn't he keep Twins to 3 runs? I woudln't say thats nothing.
