QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 05:21 AM) IU Fans: What is going on with Jordan Crawford? He gawn? Mike White took off his redshirt tonight. Either the Xavier game made them realize they need another big man or they need need another player in the rotation in the absense of Crawford. -
I don't watch the NFL, but this has been fun. Wonder if they will tie.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 11:55 PM) Not really. LSU wins and it doesnt move Illinois up to the Rose bowl, same with Vtech As long as Mizzou loses it will. -
It's been 4 years so I finally need a new phone. Any reccomendations? I don't know anything about phones. Price isn't too big of a concern, if I'm going to have it for another 4 years, mine as well pay up. I was thinking one of their two new touch screen phones. Or maybe the Chocolate. Or the Envie. Or the new Razr. So yeah I basically have no idea what I actually want. Anyone have experience with these phones or anyone else want to chime in?

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 04:41 AM) Brian, the benefit of Illinois getting into the BCS is that it will bump Michigan up a bowl or two. Chance is pretty good Michigan will end up in Orlando in the Capitol One Bowl if Illinois bumps into the BCS. Problem is, how do the Illini get in. There are only two at large bids, right? As of now, it seems Hawaii will be guaranteed a spot. Georgia should get the other. Or am I missing two bids? Missing two. They added a 5th BCS Bowl last year(The NC game is now its own entity), a big part of that because the Rose Bowl wanted to preserve its BT/PT match-up(Although moreso because someone will be making millions of more dollars). -

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 01:55 AM) How you figure? The Rose Bowl will fight to the death for a BT/PT match-up. Illinois would be their only option. -

Just got back from the Las Vegas Invitational. Awesome time. The sign outside the stadium had "NORTH CAROLINA VS. LOUISVILLE" in big, Vegas-style lights. Oops. -

How is when you put on a Duke uniform, you cannot possibly be called a travel on? -
Considering Jones had to come out and publically say he would not sign a one year deal, I doubt there are any GMs out there offering anything like 7 or 8 years.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) Lol, did anyone see this? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3119690 What a joke of a system. Of course as an Illini fan I love this, but what a terrible idea. "What's that? We don't have the teams we want in the BCS? No problem, lets just expand the system so that we can choose who we want." 18 teams for 10 spots - ridiculous. They're doing because they have too from what I understand. If they only choose from the top 14, there may not be ten total eligible from that top 14, which is why they might have to expand it to 18. -

Posted in the catch-all thread already, but this has stirred a big debate here already, so it deserves its own thread. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=mlb

JJ played in the first half-though. That doesn't happen unless Daddy's there IMO. Not that Weber is wrong in doing such a thing, just saying. -

Pretty amazing half here by the Illini. Especially considering that they are playing a ton of their freshman and newcomers. -

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 04:01 AM) While Michael Bourn Identity wouldn't be much better than Jerry Owens, and that's questionable...is Hunter such a lock? He's going to get a minimum of $60 million for four years, making him the highest played member of the team, or right up there with Buehrle. He had a really strong '07, but the two seasons prior to that were not so outstanding, with injuries and lower batting averages. He strikes out a ton...do we need any more of this type of hitter with our renewed concentration on contact, advancing runners, bunting, etc.? He's definitely lost a step or two defensively. I mean, is the difference between Hunter and someone like Mike Cameron worth THAT kind of money? It would certainly give the White Sox some credibility heading in 08 if they signed Hunter, had Cabrera at SS and moved some other pieces to shore up the bullpen and bench, but would anyone be rejoicing (besides Mariotti?) at that deal at this point in the game? Look at last off-season, the only OF signing that worked (Pods, Roberts, Pierre, Mathews) was the one that was the most universally questioned. Heck, Mathews and Meche both drew raised eyebrows, and those turned out to be two of the better signings. Wouldn't say that.

QUOTE(BMac Attack @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) Jon always just seemed like more of a California guy anyway... seriously though I've got to agree with the people saying this is for something bigger. Possible draft compensation seems like a silly reason to pull the trigger on this deal, this early in the offseason. Right now I'm shaking my head, but I've gotta believe more news is coming down in the coming few days. How could this be setting up for something bigger? Maybe for the Angels, sure. But Garland has way more value on the trade market than Cabrera I would think. So where does that lead us?
-
Sorry I'm in late on this but: 1. How much money are we getting? 2. Are we getting anything else?
-
Well, it's better than what I initially thought when I read the post preview of "Jon Garland traded for Orlando..."

Hey, I'll get in on the TF2 bashing. As I said about ten pages back, it's the most disapointing game I have ever played. I paid 45$ to play the beta early as I was in extreme hype mode. But I hate it. Despise it. Will never go back to it. Unplayable. If I had it in disk form I would break it in half. Which is unfortunate, as I waited, very, very paitiently for 9 years for the game. But after 9 years of playing TF 1.5, I simply cannot play TF2. It's a piece of crap. But still, plenty of people like it. I just do not.

New Orleans beats NC State. I leave Friday for Vegas to watch the Las Vegas Invite. UNC vs. UL should be a good one. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 03:56 AM) How's that? I was very impressed with the way Rose was being used. I said a few pages back that I thought Rose would finally be the one to come into Memphis and change their pull-up-and-shoot offense. He hasn't done that, he's just fit in. Rose has 11 turnovers and 4 assists(.36 a/to ratio) over his last few games with a lot of points in between. Calipari has certainly changed the unselfish, pure-point perception I had of Derrick. Arizona vs. Virginia is on CSN for anyone who wants to watch.
