  1. There was a report he wanted 6 or 7 years for 25-30 mil per coming into the offseason. I think he's going to be disappointed.
  2. I’m thinking Santana is their guy. Supposedly they’re not one of the 4-5 teams linked to Gio.
  3. Picture is two weeks old
  4. Also makes you wonder if Giants think Dodgers might be interested in short-term deal for Harper and they’re trying to raise the price.
  5. Not too seriously. Harper is clearly telling teams exactly what they want to hear in these meetings to make them think they have a chance. I see no reason for him to sign short-term deal with a pretty bad Giants team in an awful hitting park.
  6. This actually used to be a decent thread
  7. Giants have their fan fest this weekend, which is why there are these false rumors
  8. Because if they really offered him that, it means Sox offer isn’t as ridiculously low as some reported if they’re still in contention. This report wasn’t some breaking news that they just offered him this. It also reiterates though that Hahn can’t be negotiating trying to get Manny for lowest possible price. We don’t have “home field advantage” in this negotiation.
  9. Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal. Bad years from them and the farm system goes from a strength to a weakness after likely graduations this year.
  10. I don’t get the angst about the Yankees offer. It should make Sox fans feel better, IMO
  11. Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but didn’t he say his source was that report?
  12. Also, it’s quite funny how many times a day people ask him when will Manny sign, and he hasn’t responded once.
  13. I just hope Sox fans don’t turn on him if Manny goes elsewhere. I know everyone’s having fun with him now, but it won’t be his fault if Manny doesn’t sign here.
  14. I'm not buying the Yankees thing at all.
  15. ESPN had him around 23rd, IIRC
  16. they also had the guy that broke the Guyer signing
  17. To me, it's more interesting about who tweeted this initially
  18. Would agree with this, but the problem is the new generation of fans (8-15) that all they’ve really seen is the Sox being bad and the Cubs being good. It’s not cool to be a Sox fan right now.
  19. Unless you’re Kevin Durant. But it’s true, I don’t blame Sox fans for not buying jerseys. Who would have even been “cool” to wear one of over last five years? Abreu, that’s it.
  20. He had one big game for them, and that was game 5 of WS. Besides that, he was bad. Come on, he made Conor look like a crusher.
  21. Rare to find a Sox fan in the suburbs? That is just ridiculous.
  22. The Cubs bandwagon blew up the south suburbs. Even places that used to be very Sox-fan heavy like Oak Forest and Midlothian seem to have more and more Cubs fans.
  23. Yep, the narrative they don’t win it without him is crazy to me considering his choke job in game 7.
  24. Yes I believe Bowden had them listed a while back
