I just don’t get the end game here. Bowden mentioned today Abreu is available, so would the Sox be looking to move Palka to LF or 1B if they got Cruz?

Not saying you’re wrong, but we live in that meathead twitter universe now and the Sox fan base is fragile enough as it is.

I think the only way he signs soon is if the 1 or 2 teams he strongly wants to play for making a very strong offer. It’s hard to believe he will just take the WSox offer without waiting to see what the mega money teams do to open up space.

Just check what WSD...he has a strong following of Sox fans and if he’s saying he’s gonna do his best to get fans not to show....that’s not exactly a good thing.

Not seeing why he’d be a good fit. Seems the only games I saw him pitch well last year were against the WSox.

Yep, I just want two core players that you can expect to be quality caliber players come 2020-2022 on the Sox. They massively failed doing this last offseason, so they need to be more aggressive.

But they better have a plan B though that helps the core going forward and isn't just going to try and help them win 75 games this season. It seems like 2018 on the field (and injuries) was such a disaster that they're feeling the need to energize the fan base.
