Mets, Padres, A’s. I like the way you think though about the Rockies, as it could allow them to trade Arenado for catching and prospects (ie: Contreras +)
Craig Mish hasn’t mentioned anything about the WSox being after him. He’s a great Marlins source. Yesterday he thought Braves were most likely winner. As I said in another thread, I wonder if the Sox would go after Flowers then.
So all the beat writers are suggesting the Sox are going to go after the following at the Winter Meetings:
- catcher (Grandal)
- veteran starter (Gio and Shoemaker)
- reliever (Familia)
- outfielder and/or 3rd base (Brantley and Tim Beckham)
Predictions? (mine)
Nothing major, but Spanish announcer for Yanks and Eagles says he’s heard Sox are heavily involved with Machado

Earlier today he responded to someone who asked if Sox are so confident in getting Harper that they are focused on him and not starting pitching, he said “no”
It's funny how all the tweets of the conference call at the time talked about Hahn going after the free agents, but not one of them included that he said "That doesn’t mean we can guarantee by any stretch that we’re going to convert on these targets.’’
that rumor about liking Chicago started when he named his dog Wrigley, and only exploded more when he told TMZ he likes the food in the city. Supposedly he grew up a Yanks fan though.
