  1. Let's see who Ventura throws at tomorrow vs the Cubs
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:39 AM) Yet the Cubs got him for Scott Feldman and some bum I can't even remember. Not buying it. At the time, some speculated the main part of the trade the Cubs wanted was the slot money for Eloy Jimenez
  3. Only this year could Castro go from pitcher-hitting levels to Bryce Harper-levels after no one wanted him at the deadline. He's the anti-Samardzija
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:21 AM) I disagree. Theo rebuilt basically the entire FO, scouting department, etc. It's not ALL him. But the origin of their transformation begins and ends with Theo. Lots of teams wanted Arrieta, who to me is the reason they are ahead of schedule. Crappy thing is he was headed to Nationals in a trade from Orioles but Orioles owner wouldn't sign off on it due to their rivalry.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 03:03 AM) So, fathom. Do you hate the 2011 Red Sox? If not for that collapse, Theo might still be in Boston. lol. Nah, so much has gone right for them that I don't think it's all Theo's magic
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 01:52 AM) Yeah, that's got to be it. You should know me well enough to know that's sarcasm
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:51 AM) arrieta has always had talent, even when he struggled in Baltimore, but absolutely nothing about his career makes sense statistically. Only thing I've seen similar is halladay. Added 2-3 mph to fastball and that insane cutter
  8. Pirates just giving him a false sense of security for the WC game
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 01:23 AM) Arrieta is a cheat code. Mr. Sunday Night....has same number of homers hit as given up since his first Sox start.
  10. Haha, unique choice of letting LaRoche bat. No idea why he's getting any at bats still
  11. Pretty sure Olt leads the world in average HR distance
  12. Carlos Martinez left after two batters with shoulder tightness. Didn't look good based on his reaction.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 10:27 PM) Would be fantastic if giants lose tonight so no cubs fans get to see them clinch. Couldn't agree more!
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Don't forgetting defrauding the Padres for Rizzo. A couple of these things go differently, and the Cubs are still in rebuilding mode. And take on salary in the Montero/Fowler trades, something most rebuilding teams couldn't do.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) The Cubs wouldn't have even taken Schwarber if Rodon had been on the board at their pick. Nope, sounds like Boras was trying to make things happen for the Cubs to draft Rodon. Thankfully Hahn called his bluff.
  16. I don't think the Cubs even viewed Schwarber as the next best player in the draft. More like they took him to save money for all the high school arms they took in later rounds (Cease, Sands, etc). Not even worth debating Rodon vs Schwarber on the Sox, as Nola would have been the pick if Rodon wasn't still there.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 03:25 AM) Innings 1-3: .285/.346/.509 Innings 4-6: .332/.379/.608 Innings 7-9: .252/.304/.387 Looks like you're right. Oh my
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 01:56 AM) Well Abreu wasn't close on that at bat Seems like he struggles late in games. No stats to back that up
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 01:56 AM) Good time for #30 Not one of his better at bats
  20. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 02:26 AM) I hope LaRoche gets better next season. The team needs him to be that Nationals player. Rather he retire
