  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) If he learns to keep his offspeed stuff down he could be a very solidly above average starter. He should watch hours and hours of tape of Johan Santana. Very similar build/wind-up.
  2. Remember when Michael Young was voted the most underrated player in baseball? A nice 268/298/347 slash line for the DH in a great hitter's park.
  3. This is more impressive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3E0xIfcrlE
  4. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 12:29 AM) Tigers lead didn't last long. Hopefully it's bad Max tonight
  5. Jimmy Butler is far from an above the rim player. He's very crafty around the rim, but he's not an explosive leaper. As for Nate Robinson, at least the Bulls will have fun handshakes during the pre-game.
  6. Tigers off to a fast start vs the Red Sox. Be nice if Boston can win 2 of 3 that series.
  7. Septimo kept up to face some of the tough lefties on the Twins, IMO.
  8. Rangers have available payroll and Profar/Olt/Perez/Grimm....they can get anyone they want
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 03:04 AM) Some would say that the only 2 places in the league that aren't terrible are winning 60+ games and winning 13 games, because the worst place you can be is winning 40 games and over the cap.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:03 AM) I don't think Hawk knows s***. But yes, Danks = mental midget just like everyone else. Hawk is the mouthpiece for the organization. He knows what's going on.
  11. Is there such thing as minor shoulder surgery? If he gets shoulder surgery, is 2013 a lost year for Danks?
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) Haven't you learned that everything KW says is a lie until the final deal is done? Exactly, and there's no reason for them to announce a final decision on Danks until no earlier than Wednesday.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:57 AM) They wouldn't have let Danks say anything like what he said if that were the case. You mean like how KW said "that's news to me"?
  14. Something to consider is if the Sox are keeping the severity of the injury private prior to the deadline in order to avoid giving other teams leverage in trade talks? KW saying he expects him back in early September could just be a big bluff.
  15. Sucks to lose a game in the standings, but overall, this was a fantastic week for the White Sox. Just need to get everyone (besides Danks) healthy ASAP.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:50 AM) Thornton is worse. Thornton's situation isn't that rare though. There have been a lot of relievers over the years that were better suited for the 8th inning and didn't have a closer's mentality.
  17. There's one player on the Sox that I think struggles with the mental aspect of the game, and it's not Gavin. It's the player who everyone predicted would fail in his new spot in the batting order, and he has.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) Just remember we played this game without 2 of our 3 regular left handed hitting starters. Feldman's handled lefties this year, it's righties that have crushed him. With that said, it will do wonders for this team to get AJP back in the lineup to balance it out.
  19. I'd be a lot more upset if this was a one run game.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) Nice job by Santiago to hold them. 0-23 with RISP the last two nights for Texas
  21. Sure seems like this would have been a good inning for Nate Jones, and then you save Santiago in case you need long relief in Minnesota.
  22. QUOTE (59th street @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:33 AM) Why would he tell KW when you are the one who made the unrealistic list? Floyd really battled tonight against a greed team, poor defense, a questionable strike zone and ZERO offense support. I think he did a great job despite all the ridiculous comments from the usual posters about being weak mentally. He looked like the strongest member of our team tonight! GO GO WHITE SOX! I just don't understand why people want to trade him so quickly with how fragile the starting rotation is right now. I don't think we want another situation where Axelrod has to pitch on 3 days rest, etc.
  23. Feldman doing his best Porcello impersonation tonight.
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 01:26 AM) Tell KW it is unrealistic not me. He knows, why do you think he went after Liriano instead of the big name guys?
  25. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 01:26 AM) Jesus christ Beckham. Feel free to stop being useless any time at all. I hate the idea of leading him off just cause ADA is out. oh well, likely nothing would have mattered tonight.
