  1. Sale rebounded with a solid start after that disasterous first. Time to make him a winner.
  2. Ok Robin, get him out...over 100 pitches is just not necessary tonight.
  3. QUOTE (daggins @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:22 AM) So you aren't getting that feeling? The feeling like you are watching 9 guys in a desperate rush to finish the game? This is a feeling I have had many times watching this team. The distinct impression that they simply do not want to play tonight. Tonight is one of those nights. I disagree..this team has been in nearly every game they've played this year.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) No runs off this meatball in 4 innings is criminal. SOS AJ really struggling in May. Seems to be chasing a lot of pitcher's pitches.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:10 AM) Rios look like he is giving half effort on the foul balls to anyone else. Long way to go, he had to slow up as to not go flying into crowd. Rios is one of those guys who doesn't appear to be running hard even when he is.
  6. Something interesting early on is that Sale's numbers with no one on compared with runners on base have flip-flopped from last year. Excellent change-up there to Quintero.
  7. Goodness, why is he playing Escobar so deep? He's turned way too many singles into extra base hits. He's as bad as Griffey Jr. and Mackowiak were at keeping the ball in front of him.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:02 AM) Cy Hochevar.............we have seen this script 40 times last 4 years. Sox will score at least 3 tonight
  9. Hochevar must have a good fastball tonight, as our players are having to cheat to catch up to it.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) SELL OFF EVERYONE!L!L! Here's the deal...trade for Youkilis, AND THEN, we trade him
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:48 AM) We're losing early, so this is an awesome game thread to post in because you can tell everyone how awful everything is and blame whoever you don't like in the org. Game threads like Wednesday and Friday are terrible threads to post in because the Sox got the lead early and got good pitching, so it's no one's fault that they're winning. That's why Wednesday and Friday each only got 174 posts while the games before that when the team was losing or fell behind had 400 and 500 posts, and this game is well over 100 in the 2nd inning. 14 people in this thread tonight. I don't think there's been more than 10 in a game thread all week.
  12. Three nice reads by Viciedo defensively so far. So far, it looks like Hochevar is throwing offspeed pitches whenever he gets to three balls.
  13. QUOTE (kapzk @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:38 AM) Regardless of the fact it was 3 batters, that was 3 pathetic ABs De Aza just missed a triple and Dunn "just missed it". Plenty of time to critique the at bats, but too early to start suggesting we're seeing corpseball tonight
  14. Much crisper inning. Nice to see him elevate the fastball.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) That was just a bizarre inning for Sale. I know the walks killed, but nothing was hit hard against him. Hosmer hit one about 30 feet, and Falus ball couldn't have been thrown into the OF any better. Hanging that 2 strike slider to Gordon changed that entire inning.
  16. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:27 AM) I think he only missed 1 bat that whole inning. That was hard to watch, but he was getting squeezed IMO. Yep, he needs to trust that change-up against righties. He threw one good one that inning, so hopefully he gets a good feel for it as the game goes on.
  17. Well, that could have been so much worse. Time to get some guys on base for Dunn and PK.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) You guys are being f***ing ridiculous What was wrong with what I said?
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 12:20 AM) Sale might throw 50 pitches this inning. Wow. He's at 30 now. That's fine, bullpen is rested...just got to keep the damage down. He's just not putting anyone away at all.
  20. It's like AJ is getting away from everything that worked last night. Royals can hit the fastball, yet if you make a good offspeed pitch, they have no prayer.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ May 13, 2012 -> 12:18 AM) Ok, guys. Game has started! Well, you couldn't ask for a better pitcher for the Sox to be facing to try and get back into this game.
  22. Wow, can it start to rain again? That was Knoblauch-esque
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:16 AM) Well, this is pretty much an unmitigated disaster so far. Just doesn't have any control with his fastball. He needs to discover his power change-up he had last year.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:16 AM) Sox were creeping too close to .500. Due to get boatraced tonight. Oh stop it
