  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 04:19 AM) ugh, of course sullinger is pretty f***ing skilled on the other I've never seen Sullinger be officiated tougher than tonight. I don't mind it
  2. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 02:56 AM) Are you referring to BP? If so, can't complain too much since we'd be getting absolutely pummeled without him. (6-8, 3-4 from deep) If not, never mind. Bigger issue is DJ's useless ass, 1-5, stepped over the f'ing line on and in bounds pass and hasn't been too big of a factor on D. Abrams is just terrible as well
  3. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) Brandon Paul absolutely carrying the Illini tonight. DJ Richardson...lolzzz EDIT: Bruce, get DJ the f*** out of the game he can't help us in anyway right now Illinois playing 3 on 5. Bertrand is incredible now
  4. The refs in this Illinois game have been absolutely pathetic. Illinois with a few blatant travels/charges not called.
  5. Great trade for Cubs. Cashner is destined to be a reliever
  6. There's a part of me that thinks it's a big mistake for Kenny to not try and get a catching prospect in some of these trades. Of course, he'll probably just sign Suzuki next offseason and we'll have to hear Hawk rave about him 162 games a year.
  7. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) FarrellBall FARRELL BALL Haven't heard Drabek's name in any of the conversations though... More like, McGuire and low level prospects for Floyd.. #Jays #WhiteSox 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply This makes a lot more sense
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Sooo....assuming this is true, and we get Drabek + McGuire...... that will put our total up to......14 pitchers we have acquired since July, right? I would be stunned if it's for both of those guys.
  9. There were huge concerns about Drabek's off the field actions heading into the draft. Tons of rumors about bad stuff he was involved in. He was pretty good in the minors, but really struggled last year cause he tried to hard to develop a cutter. His control was brutal, but if you could get him and someone else for Floyd, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Much like Simon Castro, this is someone you couldn't have gotten last year.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) Just because Sox hire guy from Toronto does not mean we have to get every minor league spec he likes. McGuire has been a disappointment so far. I do worry about overpaying for guys that the new hire likes. Felt like was the case for Molina for sure.
  11. Sox loved Asher during the draft scouting process. I'm not a huge fan of his, as his fastball has lost some velocity. I'd be fine with Deck, as finally we could get a GT guy to be a star after dealing with this bum from UGa at 2nd base.
  12. Great job of Noah and Deng coming up with that play on the fly!
  13. I'm a Bulls fan, but the refs have been ridiculous this quarter letting the Bulls get away with blatant travels.
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) awful coaching by Mark Richt. 2nd and 8 and you center it for a 42 yard FG on 3rd down? Why not run a play on 2nd and get a few yards, then on 3rd center it to make it a more managable kick? I mean how often do you really see a bad snap on 3rd down, and a rekick on 4th from 7 yards farther? Only decision that's been worse the last few days is Richt's state of Georgia peer in Paul Johnson not centering the ball for the potential game winning kick.
  15. Was that Sam Young who almost shot that ball over the backboard from straight away?
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 12:01 AM) How can anyone complain about this move? Sox didn't have a need for Fraser and got two guys with some potential. They aren't can't miss but who in the world would exPect that in this type of deal. Nice job Kenny. Yep, it's a good trade. It doesn't make the trade last year of acquiring Frasor any better, and it also means Stewart is likely in the bullpen to start the year.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) People do a lot crazier things than work with people they don't like in exchange for more money than others are willing to pay. Yeah, do you think everyone on Ohio State's football team really likes each other? Just kidding rock
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) All the points are valid, but its still probably coming down to the team that gives him the most money. Sounds like it's going to be the Marlins
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) And wouldn't our strongest selling point to Cespedes be the strong Cuban presence currently in our starting lineup? I'm fairly certain that's our only strong selling point. Agreed, but that also is probably why the Marlins are in the driver's seat for him (Cuban presence in the community)
  20. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) I hope they can. If they move him and Floyd the payroll would be at ~92M and they could make a serious run at Cespedes. Sign him and put Viciedo on the block. IMO, Viciedo is more valuable to the Sox than he is on the trade market.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) And that, IMO, is why he's unlikely to go. He's consistent in that he'll give you a good WAR year after year, but wwhen you watch/scout him, you'll get too many games where his curve isn't there and he gets shelled. Maybe he'll pull things together with that extra pitch finally working better one of these years, but I dunno. One thing worth noting...The Sox now have control over everyone on their roster through at least the end of 2013 other than the enormous option on Jake Peavy. It's going to be so nice to get Peavy's contract off the books.
  22. Thornton's got to be next to go it seems
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) Besides Thornton, who has he turned from a guy who can't throw strikes to one who can? Jenks?
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) Much like this Castro kid? Yeah, I don't mind Castro at all. Would have liked the 2nd piece of the trade to be something more than a longshot prospect. Like you said, Cooper does his best work with guys who have control issues in the past.
