I read earlier today the Reds are out on Cease. Asking price was too high for them.

What would a Yankees trade even look like? Peraza, Jones and Hampton? I can’t see them dealing Dominguez or Wells.

I just have no confidence the Orioles and Sox get something done. They’ve been discussing Cease forever now, and they can’t agree on his value.

The more I think about it, the more the Pirates getting Cease makes no sense. They’re not likely competing in the next two years, and unloading their farm should be someone with significantly more years remaining on their contract.

He had the scoop on Perez a few days ago. A Pirates beat writer hinted at a trade happening, but I highly doubt it’s Cease.

The thing that drives me insane is that if the Sox are so high on Waldrep, they could have just drafted him a few months ago.

Couldn’t agree more with you, but we know the Sox tend to get tunnel vision with their decision making. They want to play like the Royals of the past with speed and defense, which is a huge mistake IMO.

I will be shocked if they go after offense, as we discussed a few days ago. The fact they were looking at Pepiot as a headliner adds more proof.
