  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 01:49 AM) How many of those leaves are there per year? Didn't Candace Parker miss a portion of the season due to being knocked up?
  2. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 12:48 AM) Trade him for Zambrano. Throw in Rios and Dunn for good measure. I'd trade him for Zambrano in a heartbeat, but Cubs would never do that.
  3. We held our WNBA fantasy draft the other day. The categories are ACL tears, pregnancy leaves and publicly coming out. I like my teams, got a lot of players with hyphenated names so we should be good with in-season pregnancy leave of absences.
  4. So did the NBA change the over and back rules without telling me? Blatant backcourt violation there before Chalmers three pointer.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) Fantastic. You know he'll try to return a week earlier than expected, numerous people will praise him for being a fighter, and then he'll probably change up his mechanics to compensate for the groin strain and he'll aggravate something in his shoulder. He reminds me of a professional wrestler with all these freak injuries. I saw where he said he tweaked it in Boston. Well, I'm sure glad he spoke up and said something. Of course, as soon as he gets bombed by the Tigers in the 4th, he complains about it.
  6. Peavy's expected to miss at least one start, and DL stint is very likely. Damn San Diego and Toronto!
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) I'm no longer an Adam Dunn fan and I curse the day we signed him. You should start a pool about how much money we'll have to include when we trade him and Rios. I still don't see how anyone supports Kenny Williams.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Why Sox draft like s*** anyway............Maybe we can overreach 30 rounds again and draft another f***ing Williams or Guillen for no reason at all That's the scary part...our first round pick is only pick where it seems we're determined to invest the money we have to.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Deepest draft from a pitching perspective in years. Recent mock draft has Nats taking Alex Meyer in our slot. He'd easily be best pitching prospect we have.
  10. Just think tomorrow how Mr. Done cost us our first round pick.
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Sox lucked out against Boston big time at a time when they really needed it. That too
  12. Couple of bright spots today: Dunn's squared up two pitches, and Beckham seems to have found his power stroke.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) Is it possible that the rest of the league is just that good that everyone has someone rough for us to hit? Could be that way...kinda ironic the only time we lucked out was in our series against the Dodgers. With our pitching match-ups in consideration, that's why you have to win games when you have your 20 million dollar pitcher going up against Brad Penny.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Sox in a whole bunch of trouble with Pineda, King Felix and Vargas We've just been destroyed this year with regards to having to face the opposition's best.
  15. Are the Sox like 3-25 with RISP this series? Two of them didn't even score a run.
  16. Wouldn't mind never, ever seeing AJP bat above 7th again.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) The only good thing about Peavy is his competitive attitude and I wish it would have rubbed off on some of our other players like Rios. I like Peavy the person; I hate Peavy the DLish player. Ugh, I hate when people talk about him being a competitor. Who the f*** cares, if he pulls himself with a strained groin after allowing 6 runs in an inning, then I would rather he pull himself prior to getting torched if he was actually hurt during the inning. If this was Garland, we'd be saying he was suffering from Loser's Limp.
  18. So from 2009 to 2011, does anyone know what Peavy's stats are for the Sox and how much we've paid him for that?
  19. Wow Morel looked like a pitcher in that at bat. Tigers have a roster loaded with talent, it's scary how good they can be if they upgrade with a starting pitcher.
  20. I feel like this is karma for us for always mocking Prior and Wood.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Remember when Nomah did that? I still think about that injury when I'm stretching at the gym. It terrifies me. Yep, 2005
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) 25K today the way the play at the Cell I am not suprised. That's pathetic. Tomorrow should be a big crowd due to half price night, but the crowds the rest of the week will be in the low 20s likely.
