Jenks just seems to break down during the 2nd half way too often. Thankfully, this is the last year we'll have to worry about this, as there's absolutely no way you bring him back for the money he'll want.
-
As someone said earlier, just a terrible stretch of games. We have to go undefeated on this upcoming homestand, or this season is likely over.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Glad Kotsay got an at bat. The curse of the Kotsay-Damon comparison continues.
-
This offense flat out did not show up to play the last three games. Seems like a team that was on its last legs on this road trip, and just hit the wall once the magic wore off.
-
Just got back from lunch. Nice to see Rios show some life, but jeez, it seems Gavin was lefty in way too long.

QUOTE (soxbsbllvr @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) Hmmmm maybe if the Sox waited he would be doing it against the AL as well. Couldn't agree more. It's not like he was getting hit hard in 2 of those 3 bad starts. If Beckham had any range at all, he could have had a decent start vs the A's.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) Carlos is horrible in the field, but give me a break...you get throws like that all the time from the OF as an infielder, especially at 3B. Knock the thing down without booting it 15 feet away. True, but errors usually even out for outfielders.
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) Morel appears to have a face only a mother can love, and his game looks horrible with the small sample size He looked 100% overmatched during Spring Training.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) And to think there are still people on this site that think Carlos is a decent fielder. He either has to be the DH next season or traded.
-
I think Quentin has more errors since the ASB than home runs.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) This offense has been horrid the last 3 games, they look completely uninterested, looking to just pack it in. Why not just crown the Twins AL Central champs again, unbelievable.... You have to admire the Sox winning 7 games in a row on the road, but it was like as soon as they lost a game and the Twins won that day, their bubble completely burst. We started seeing a lot of acceptance from the players with regards to what was likely to happen. Not that I blame them really, as the Twins are an absolute machine right now.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 06:41 PM) Which is one of the biggest differences between the Sox and that team in 1st place Completely accurate...hey, at least the guy in the front office that said having lefties in the lineup wasn't important because of our possible postseason match-ups can't say he never said that thanks to The Club.
-
It's a rule that any Sox hitter from our minor league must come up to the big league squad and look overmatched.
-
I love stacking the lineup with righties even though Porcello really struggles against LHP. Hell, give me De Aza in CF over the K/DP machine in Rios.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) i wish Quentin could finish strong to improve his trade value. Some AL team would have to like him for DH. Maybe Seattle? Only problem if we get rid of him is we run the risk of having an offense the potentially might have no power threats. If Konerko leaves, we could easily see Teahen in RF and Morel at 3B. Knowing Ozzie, he wouldn't even want a power threat acquired to play 1b/DH.
-
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Bonderman and Porcello have been hit hard all year.....they need to get it going.......has anyone other than Omar homered since the Cleveland series? Nope
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) Alright offense, gotta step it up here. Ha...we've seen this act like the last decade. Come September, the long ball is non-existent. We need someone to get hot and hit 4 homers in a 6 game stretch, as no one is picking up the slack right now.
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) Twins fans have to be enjoying this and laughing their asses off. They're not even worried about us anymore. I believe they're too busy masturbating in the bathroom looking at pictures of Brett Favre.
-
Damon's done a lot of damage ever since that comparison to Kotsay on this board the other day.
-
This team looks completely dead. All of our pitchers seem to have hit the wall as well, as everyone's velocity has been down. Sale needs to be shut down for season if we are 6 or 7 out after Twins series.
-
Seems like it's been a while since we got off to a good start in the first inning. Pierre's slumping, as he's something like 4 for his last 27.
-
In all, thought this was an extremely boring season of Hard Knocks. They didn't focus on individual players enough, so it made it hard to care about anyone in particular. The Jets GM might be the biggest dork working in sports. For all the talk of D. Woodhead leading up to final cuts, they really should have had a meeting or reaction from him after he knew he made the roster.
-
Watched a lot of Hudson's start tonight. Hitters just don't take good swings against his change-up. He's going to be a very good pitcher in the NL for a while if he can stay healthy.

So there's been a 9 game swing from where we would have been if we won that Sunday game vs the Twins after the ASB to now. Plain and simple, Twins deserve the AL Central with their amazing play since the ASB. The better team will have won. -

QUOTE (hometeamfan @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 01:42 AM) Did you SEE Danks expression when the team played like hamburgers behind him?? What more do you want out of a starting pitcher??? To actually pitch over an error? Danks has been far from spectacular since the ASB. Of course, pitching on 3 days rest is a pretty bad idea.
