Ozzie's going to enjoy his 2 game suspension for those comments. Good for him!

So who do we bump from the rotation so that Pena can start?

Peavy expresses concern about tired arm
QUOTE (T R U @ May 26, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) I don't understand how hes been so bad, his numbers don't look that bad.. His last 5 starts, hes not walking people anymore hes getting strikeouts.. hes not really getting hit around that badly and yet there's 6 runs on the board for each of his last two starts.. He really hasn't been walking people since his first 5 starts, its just weird what the problem is.. He was bad last night because he threw pitches that were right down the plate with no movement and/or bite. I'm not worried about him saying he has a tired arm, as his fastball was excellent last night.

Pena with a heck of an outing, even though his ERA is up, he's done a solid job this season.

To be honest though, where AJP bats in the order is about 500th on the list of concerns right now.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 26, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) Honestly, are we the only team in the league with a manager dumb enough to bat Pierzynski 2nd? That's just beyond ridiculous right there. Having an impatient hitter hit after your base stealer is just asinine. If anything, let Teahen bat 2nd.

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Reds also have both Chapman and possibly later in the year Volquez waiting in the wings. Cardinals have 3 rookies there because of injury, which you can't say isn't going to hit the Cubs as well. And you actually think the pitching coach has that much of an impact that it could cost them the division? Hitting coach you mean, and no, I wasn't saying that it would cost them the division. I thought it was interesting to hear another fan base bash their hitting coach so early into his tenure.

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) If "EVERYTHING" went well, and that includes very improbable events like Soriano hitting 30+ HR and staying healthy and Carlos Silva pitching like a #2 starter and Carlos Marmol never hitting that mid-season slump he usually seems to find, and on top of that, an injury hits the Reds or Pujols continues to struggle, I could see them competing for the wild card, but that's about it. Cardinals and Reds have some major starting pitching issues. Cardinals have 3 rookies in their starting rotation. The Cards fans I work with despise Mark McGwire as their hitting coach, as they feel he stresses home runs and not contact.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) Tony Pena is warming in the pen. Randy would get the win if this lead holds

I have Randy Williams on my fantasy team, so hopefully he gets the win.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) Why? Cause if you really feel like you're getting screwed by an umpire, do something about it. Better than just complaining the whole game.

Saw Randy was in the game, and I was worried Buehrle got hurt. I love that him and Ozzie got tossed!! That's not sarcasm either.

No one in their right mind would take Peavy and that contract right now. If he's a bust, we have a Barry Zito situation on our hands.

2010 Cubs Thread
It's getting close to the point of the season where I've given up hope on the Sox and just hope the Cubs don't make the postseason. They're playing good baseball, as their starting rotation has really overachieved. With D. Lee hitting again, they're definitely an upper echelon team.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 26, 2010 -> 02:15 AM) why? I've been impressed with how he handles his starters and the little things they've done vs us. It's not his fault he's stuck with one of the worst lineups the AL has seen in a while.

Ramon Castro is such a lazy fat ass on the field.

Some terrible at bats tonight. Castro couldn't look more overmatched. He's too fat to hit now.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 26, 2010 -> 12:48 AM) Especially after crying for playing time today pretty much! Vizquel said that with the amount of playing time he's not enjoying it mentally anymore and will probably retire next season. Oh good grief!

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:47 AM) Also two of the slowest players in baseball. I'm convinced Thome is just as fast as Kotsay. Just because you're white and can't hit for power, it doesn't mean you're fast.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) Kotsay better not sniff the lineup tomorrow. There's aggressive and just flat out f***ing short-bus retarded. Guarantee he'll be playing with Westbrook on the mound. I bet Vizquel also plays for Beckham.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:44 AM) It is unbelievable how many outs this team runs into. And it's the veteran players like Kotsay and AJP.
