QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 03:38 AM) Gilbert Arenas just became the 18th NBA player with 12 turnovers in a single game. Well, he does have a lot on his mind with Shaq supposedly hooking up with his pregnant fiance. -

The thing that sucks is there was clearly .4 seconds left when Noah called timeout after the missed FT. -

Thabeet was looking awful anyways, correct? -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 03:02 AM) I was just going to say, he sounds a bit bitter and defensive (because god knows he couldn't be defensive in the outfield) Nothing new, it was blatantly obvious during the 2nd half of last year that he was unhappy.

Noah looks fantastic out there. Hopefully Rose wakes up this season, as Deng and Noah are carrying this team. Also, I still stand by my opinion that the draft picks of Johnson/Taj were awful. -
Gotta love Dye using the Rios arrival as an excuse. I love Jermaine's contributions during his time here, but there's no doubt in my mind that he's one of the veterans we keep hearing about that might have been too comfortable in the clubhouse and didn't really like the influx of young players.

So Ga Tech beat a solid IUP team in overtime today. I normally don't care about exhibition games, but after all the coverage the Syracuse game received last week, I'm thankful GT won. GT played the 2nd half without Shumpert, who was in control of the game in the first half. With all of that said, I just wanted to vent that I think Paul Hewitt is a good man, but he's the worst f***ing coach in any sport in any league. He's living off of one tournament run in which he had amazing guards and that team still had to barely survive all 5 victories in the tournament. I can only hope he gets fired after this season if the team fails to make the tournament, as Lawal/Favors/Shumpert are all supposedly going to declare for the draft. Thanks for letting me vent, that makes me feel better. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) I think the bigger debate with the whole coaching debate is the candidates that will be available this off-season. It's a HOF class to chose from. It's always been the Bears M.O. to not spend a ton of money on a coach, instead just promote a coordinator, but I would hope that would change. You probably are more in sync with the media than I am about this, but I heard Shanahan's name mentioned as the likely candidate a lot lately.

This is just comical, Gould's our best defensive player. Can we beat Notre Dame to the punch and hire Brian Kelly now?
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) the bengals game was worse I was at that game, and I have tried to block it out. I'm not sure it was worse though, as the Bengals at least have a balanced offense. The Cardinals are running it down our throats, and they suck at that aspect.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) Lovie's job HAS to questioned after this debacle Lovie Smith, welcome to South Bend, Indiana. Who am I kidding, they would never hire a black coach again!
-
If we're going to lose, let it be in blowout fashion in order to incite change.
-
This is the worst defensive performance I can ever recall by the Bears.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) What's new? That's been happening for years. The Cover-2 is a failed experiment. It leaves he team wide open for short passes. Time for a whole new coaching staff.

That was a ridiculous play, great job by Cutler!
-
Ugh, nightmare start. If Hunter's out, that means Roach will be calling plays again!

As a GT fan, I truly believe there might be coaches as good as Paul Johnson, but there are no coaches that are better. Huge f***ing balls by him to go for it on 4th and 1 in OT down 3. -
Beckham's Deep Thoughts on playing 2nd base
fathom replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Don't like to hear Beckham even mentioning something about the "politics involved with it". I can't wait for these veterans to leave, as there's no doubt the clubhouse will be better off for it. -
Garfien reports Sox might "revisit" a Thome return
fathom replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) Exactly, if we are settling on Thome we are in deep trouble. He's in serious decline, is a terrible base clogger and really doesnt appear to fit on this team. Time to wish him a good retirement. You guys said it a lot better than I did. We all love Thome for the person he is, but I don't want to watch him hit for the Sox anymore. -

QUOTE (almagest @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) I think Thome is the best option we have for DH at this point. At this point? We have no idea who's going to be available this offseason. Unless Thome is willing to take a one year, one million dollar contract, I say no thanks. -
Well, the one thing this trade does is increase Beckham's chances at making the Hall of Fame.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 05:33 PM) I would have taken Matsui if he didnt just go and increase his price tag in one game. Finding a cheap DH who can hit 20-25 homers in our park really shouldn't be too difficult. I'm not worried about our power at all, as this team would finally be able to hit a decent amount of doubles.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) I've been toying around with something. Last offseason, one of the huge rumors was Teahen to the Cubs for Fontenot and Marshall. If we did that, got a solid lefty-bench bat, and a lefty-spot starter (with a heart-breaking curve) who can work out of the pen.... would we be encouraged? Is this possible? Not a chance in hell Cubs deal Marshall right now with the uncertainty of Lilly's shoulder.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 06:18 PM) I also wonder if Retherford has really opened the org's eyes to the point that it made Getz a bit more expendable. Or was Getz moved because of the stuff said in that Gonzalez interview. The Sox will be going after one of the 2nd basemen in the FA market. Nix will be the back-up again, and Teahen will be playing RF for the Sox next year. I think Orlando Hudson is the likely 2nd baseman for the Sox next year.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) Duh, just JD has spent alot of time with said women, just sayin..... I understand completely!
