J.J. Hardy is awful, I'm very happy to see this trade from a Sox perspective.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) S'Later then Mr Dye. The women of depaul will miss you. Haha...women from University of Texas>>>>>>>>>women from DePaul
-
I was told by a family friend of Dye's this morning that his first choice is to go play for Ron Washington and Texas.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) You lost me here. Who are you saying was the problem there, and who do you think will be at what positions now? I thought Getz and Ramirez were an awful combo and had no rhythm when turning the double play (Getz's arm was also extremely weak on the relay).
-
At least we're one step closer to improving our double play combo, which I still believe cost us 5-7 games due to inability to turn crucial double plays.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 05:42 PM) Here's my thought on it. Starting pitching isn't the reason we lost last year (other than Jose sucking a bunch early). It was offense and bullpen. So far we have not resigned one of our better hitters last year (and we most likely won't), picked up a guy with a .754 OPS. Nix won't leadoff, you know Ozzie wants his speedy, slappy leadoff hitters.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) Josh Fields still has more potential than Jayson Nix. Disagree, as at least Nix is a great base runner and superior fielder. Both have the potential to hit for above average power with a low batting average. I would be shocked if Fields is even in the majors 3 years from now.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 05:35 PM) We just did today! Mark Kotsay! I saw that, not too happy with it but that's not a big deal considering everything else today.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) Give up the 100 losses crap. Unless about three pitchers on the Sox starting staff under go group Tommy John surgery, it ain't happenin. Save the drama. Seriously, you would have thought we just traded Danks and Beckham for Teahen judging by the reaction in this thread. Fields obviously was done with the organization, and Getz, as I've said all along, was never going to be more than a #8 or 9 hitter.
-
I don't mind an outfield of Quentin/Rios/Teahen as long as we can get a solid DH for cheap.
-
Well, if what Mark Gonzales said in that interview was correct, we just ran off another guy who caused a disturbance in the clubhouse. Teahen isn't anything special besides for being a great base runner.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 03:22 AM) Man Del Negro had a poor coaching game today. And Derrick is just not the same player right now. He's already cost himself alot of points cause he can still blow by guys but can't finish. Sophomore year Chicago jinx. -

It's really a shame that the Bulls did nothing to improve the talent level around D. Rose this season. -
Wow, that was pathetic goal line offense. Forte is way too upright near the goal line.
-
Forte's yards after initial contact has got to be in single digits this year. Break a f***ing tackle!

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) Seconded on Calipari. I just don't understand the fascination everyone has with ranking Kentucky so high. So...you lose Jodie Meeks, gain a sleezeball jagbag of a coach, get a heralded, but completely untested group of true freshman coming in, and all of a sudden they are going to rule over not only a deep SEC East, but Top 5-10 in the country? Patterson very well may be the best all-around player in college basketball this season. I think Wall is overrated, but he's still probably the best point guard in college basketball. Throw in guys like Cousins and Bledsoe to go along with Miller/Orton/Dodson and you have an extremely talented team. Plain and simple, the talent level in college basketball sucks. With any other coach, Ga Tech would likely be a top 5 team as they have 3 potential lottery picks in their starting lineup. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) Indeed it is. It replaced the OC and I honestly think it might just be better than the OC (a show that I loved). When you have to question whether or not Leighton Meester is the hottest girl on a show, you know there is some eye candy on the screen. Also, did Blake Lively get implants? Mercy!

I was at the game yesterday (holy hell is the Bengals facility bad), and it was mind boggling how awful Nick Roach is. He was out of position every other play it seemed. Truly an awful experience yesterday.

Marcus Jordan - Adidas Situation

Everything Jordan and his family does this day irritates the hell out of me. -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 03:39 AM) Thats the point. Kruetz is giving it up. I think on the 1 yard line your large QB might have a chance to maybe find a bit of leverage versus your running back who is starting 5 yards back. The line is getting blown up anyway. The QB at least has a chance, where as Forte is just meeting defenders a step into his handoff. Exactly, BTW have our Defensive Ends done anything besides jump offsides tonight?
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 02:23 AM) Here Turner. We bought you a corvette. Can you explain why the cops pulled you over for 10 under the speed limit. I love this post, great stuff SSI. It's disgusting, as Orton is actually a better fit for this type of offense probably (even though I hate him and enjoy Cutler).
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 03:34 AM) Not a fan of the play calling either but if your oline doesn't get blown up there is no reason not to be able to run it in there. This is also where I hate the fact that all the Bears receivers are so small. I love the fade route around the goal line. Just should have done a QB sneak, it's been our most efficient play tonight.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 03:34 AM) the fumbles are certainly on him....but this offensive line overhaul clearly didn't work....Omiyale is terrible, and Pace has 0 drive off the ball run blocking Oh, I agree the OL sucks...but Forte has no burst this year and even when there is a hole, he can't do anything productive with it.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 03:32 AM) Forte sucks this year Way too much partying in the offseason, and he's definitely lost a step.
-
And with that, it's time to bench Forte. Terrible play calling...should have just done a QB sneak on first down.
