  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2009 -> 01:38 AM) feldman is feasting on the outside part of the plate. do you see anyone trying to go the other way? Of course not, but Texas has 5 hits up the middle or the opposite way.
  2. Best part of this game easily was seeing the return of the Scott Podsednik "I can't see the ball" hand gesture in the 4th inning
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 2, 2009 -> 01:36 AM) This game is almost unwatchable. How does this team hold its own against Roy Halladay but consistently gets shut down by garbage pitchers year after year? As long as Greg Walker's not around when the new batch of players join the majors, that's all that matters.
  4. Dye seems like the easiest out in baseball if you can get him to a 3-2 count. His K to BB ratio is Daniel Hudson-esque this year.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 2, 2009 -> 12:18 AM) I can, because he sucked horribly. Oh please, no one likes a reclamation project more than KW. KW has tried for years to get Jones. It's too bad we didn't have the chance for Cooper to fix him.
  6. Ugh...I wish Betemit was our DH for an extended period. As the season goes on, Thome should become our #2 hitter. It really seems like batting 2nd has totally altered Fields approach for the worst. Time for him to go to the #7 spot in this order and start hitting the ball with authority.
  7. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 2, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) buerhle just not looking good His velocity is scary low right now
  8. I still can't believe KW didn't take a chance on Andruw Jones. It's amazing how skinny he is now.
  9. QUOTE (G&T @ May 2, 2009 -> 12:10 AM) No one was getting to that. I know, it's just going to be interesting to see if the # of triples our pitchers allows increases from April to May with this new defense behind them. My wife is watching elsewhere tonight, and called and ask "what the hell happened to Pods, he looks like he's 40 now?" I love my wife!
  10. QUOTE (tommy @ May 2, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) Leadoff triple. When Mike Huff starts questioning AJP's pitch selection, you know something is going on.
  11. 3 of the worst offenses innings of the season. At least the sweet sound of Mike Huff's voice can overshadow this anemic offense. Pods looks SO OLD! His bat speed is pretty pathetic as well.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 1, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) He's favoring his heal, it's obvious. If that's all he's got then he should be on the DL. Yep, I hate to say this, but Betemit seems like a much better option. Feldman's destroying our hitters right now with that weak sinker.
  13. If Thome can't beat that out, he can't be in the lineup.
  14. Buerhle can't just throw meatballs down the plate against this lineup. If he starts off like he did last game against Toronto, he won't make it out of the 3rd.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ May 2, 2009 -> 12:42 AM) Great analogy by Mike Huff. "I think I saw some movement on that fastball." Ok, it's Mike Huff....and I hope he has a day job.
  16. 3 very soft hit grounders. We have to be among the lowest scoring teams in the first inning all season. Someone on radio said we've scored in first inning only 4 times this year. Who's this announcer?
  17. How close was Hanley to tying the game with 2 outs in the 9th? Says fly out to deep center.
  18. Was Theriot's homer far? Also, did Gload just almost homer?
  19. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 1, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) It would be great if the Cubs hang on and lose this game today. They were HUGE favorites (-$300). The panic level would reach a new high for the year. You should know better than posting this!!
  20. Ugh, Theriot hits a grand slam. The Marlins have some terrible relievers in their bullpen.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 1, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) Despite my annoyance with having to have him start in CF, thinking about watching his WS HR in person still makes me smile. When he hit it, the first thing I was hoping for was a double. Never did I think he had enough power to get it out at that spot on the field.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) I was at the game where Terrero hit a monster HR underneath the Fundamentals thing against the Rays. The Jamie Shields game. One of the most "out of nowhere" homers I can remember. Of course the biggest one like that will likely be shown during the Sox highlights tonight with our #9 hitter. Give 'em hell Pods!
