Anderson won't rejoin the team until Tuesday. The Lillicurse strikes again it seems with that rain out in Anderson's 2nd game. I truly don't understand why they care about waiting until Tuesday, as he's had nearly 20 ABs in the minors now. Maybe Cora will show some balls and put Nix or Alexei in CF tomorrow.
  2. So basically Cora and Fields state in the recap of the game we were playing not to lose. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,6329643.story
  3. Wow, this just sounds nuts! http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/articl...3VCGtwD987JTSG0

Holy hell, call up Anderson so he can play in CF and Pods in LF tomorrow. This mean Lillibridge is going to get another two starts. I don't know who's calling the shots for this team's roster right now, but it's really disgusting. BTW, Anderson easily had the best ABs on the team last game against Halladay.
  5. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) I knew this game was over when LaToliet walked Scales. After he had thrown about 3 pitches down the plate called a ball. Oh well, if this results in Marmol becoming their closer, I consider it a good game. Marmol's the best shut down man in the 8th inning in a hell of a long time.
  6. For me personally, it makes matters worse that it seems just as we're going into the tank, the Cubs are going on a huge run. At least the Blackhawks are still going to keep the focus off of baseball in the city.
  7. And the Cubs win. Worst managing I've seen in my life. A good throw by Pence gets him easily at home. I hate baseball this year.
  8. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) Cooper should be fired if they lose this game, horrible managing. Wow, and he's pitching to Soriano with an open base in the bottom of the 9th.
  9. Lance Berkman continues to be Mr. Un-clutch against the Cubs. BTW, Cecil Cooper is a horrendous manager. How are you not bunting with Michaels at the plate?
  10. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I don't care if we win tomorrow. It will be a win in my book if Gavin can have a quality start.
  11. Come on Astros! Why does Jason Michaels look awesome against the Sox, but looks just awful against other teams?
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) And the Caridinals aren't going to get better as the year goes on if Carpenter comes back? And the Brewers can't keep going or get more out of JJ Hardy? The Reds can't get better as Votto and Bruce develop? And what happens when Soriano makes his DL trip? Or when Ryan Theriot either stops doing his Chris Shelton impression or gets suspended for steroids? I'm not trying to be an ass, but go back and look what I said: with Manny out, there's little question they're the best in the NL. When Manny returns in 2 months, who knows who will be on the DL.
  13. Gregg just had a huge meltdown. The Wrigley crowd is booing the hell out of him.
  14. Yeah, I have no problem with Podsednik's effort today. Great job in the first inning, and then a good throw to get the runner.
  15. This season is going to seem like it's 300 games long. Every game seems to be deja vu for the offense. I've never seen a team that hits fewer balls hard during a game than the Sox do. How many "stretch" calls have we even had in the last few weeks?
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Thanks Scott Linebrink Thanks everyone. This should have been a shut out for Toronto. Nix probably had the best at bat of the game.
  17. The Jays really are the 2005 White Sox. That might have been the worst game of the year for the Sox at the plate.
  18. So Quentin's that injured he can't even PH?
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) The Brewers, Cardinals, Reds, and Mets all have similar records to the Cubs, and until you tell me how the injuries are going to work out or which teams are going to be buyers at the deadline (the Cubs have nothing to offer except money), it certainly seems like they're no where near as far ahead of the rest of the league as they were last year. Wouldn't you agree though that the Cubs offense to start the year was about as bad as it was going to be? Lee and Bradley aren't going to hit under .200 all year, and it's likely Soto will pick it up. The Cubs aren't as good as they were last year, but none of the teams in the division are.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) You're never as good as you look when you're on a roll (Toronto), you're never as bad as you look when you're in a slump (White Sox). Outside of 2 games against the Twins and that series in Tampa, we've looked really mediocre all year. I just hope Quentin's ok, as he's really the only reason to watch our offense now.
  21. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Just waiting on the Kenny Williams meltdown. KW won't have a meltdown...he should just thank his stars that he's not the one being called out for having this mediocre roster after the offseason. Everyone knew it was a terrible offseason for the Sox with regards to helping out the big league squad, and we're paying for it now.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Jesus people, we'd rather lose every year and stockpile draft picks than win the damn division? Yeah, that was just a head shaker.
  23. QUOTE (SnB @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:19 PM) good lord, just bring back luis terrero and call it a season. He'd get hurt right away and Lillicurse would take his place.
  24. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) Lawl, we are the worst team in all of the major leagues. No doubt in my mind. We really might be. The Nationals offense is far superior to ours. It could be a battle between the Sox and Padres for first pick.
  25. At least the pitching match-up favors the Sox tomorrow.
